I liked what he did today, right time to sub him but you can see his quality, sometimes he keeps it in his back pocket but he would be an excellent permanent addition and the strop tells me he wants to do well for Villa.

Mings is a quality centre back and a leader of the team, you take away him directing the defence and I bet we don’t have as many clean sheets as we have now.

Yep agree, managed last night superbly against a very good Southampton side. Credit to Dean Smith and coaching team on a good battling win.

If we are looking retrospectively... we got a clean sheet and won the game, I think he will be happy how he managed the game against a good Southampton side.

If you go by the letter of the law VAR didn’t actually do us any favours, they just gave the correct decisions which is what it is meant to do. Smith played a good game tonight against a good Southampton side, credit where it is due.
