  1. wonder how 2023 has been for the 'low block' word use bingo, feel like i'd never heard the word before this year, now it's on every thread and every 5th post. but yes not sure why he and Cash aren't attacking more on the overlap
  2. More chance of seeing Elvis and 2Pac
  3. has he been injured? Is he fit now? Odd he didn't play in the EC - someone def said he was injured
  4. groundhog day away from home had some good chances without looking at all convincing in any department, we are getting bullied off the ball far too easily, slow decision making is costing us
  5. So glad Bailey is proving so many on here wrong! I confess to giving up on Zaniolo, mainly because of the loan situation, will he actually find some form at a point we can safely make the move permanent (still nightmare flashbacks to signing Coutinho permanently when he had not done nearly enough to justify that) , if we'd already spent 30 mil on him and he was our player i'd be a lot less likely to give up on him. But the more I see Bailey thrive the more I want/hope Zaniolo can do the same. Hope we give Bailey a new contract soon!
  6. I can understand why Emery is playing Konsa at right back and bringing Carlos in, but doing this vs City or Arsenal is a huge risk. Carlos and Pau just don't look comfortable as a pairing and need more time playing together. Cash is either decent or poor, not much in between this season, but if we defend like we did against Bournemouth we will get torn apart.
  7. Would love this to be true, but the fact he keeps taking him off at half time and that he has not yet improved at all is worrying. If anyone can Unai can, so fingers crossed.
  8. he looked so promising when he first came, so many incredible shots that didn't go in, then the gambling stuff and few injury issues and now he looks like he won't make it with us at all which is very sad.
  9. sh*t referee, sh*t side away playing physical football, endless fouls vs different defensive set up.... bit of a pattern of how it goes wrong for us
  10. endless fouls from Bournemouth 1 in 30 penalised thank god Ezri!
  11. yep when playing against pace and width, Konsa is not the guy
  12. in a dance off against the Coventry Disco Body Poppers Over 60s Guild.
  13. new player in 'takes a while to find his place and best form under new manager' shocker, lets hope Zaniolo is next to shine
  14. he ran into space on the right so many times and Cash every time just went backwards instead of passing to him, same with Zaniolo with Digne constantly coming back into midfield (appreciate he had been rubbish the few times he did get forward but he did try and get into space). as soon as we become reliant on Cash and Digne crossing from deep into a full penalty area where we never have any physical superiority, we quickly fall apart.
  15. against Wolves we sacrificed a fwd in order to be more difficult to beat away from home against our bogey team and it kind of worked, as we ground out a draw, may aswell try this tactic more often and then use subs to go for the win when legs tire. I think luck and injuries conspired against us vs barcodes and plop, but we have to know when to attack and when to park the bus and when we are a goal down we do neither.
  16. We have to work out a way to unlock defences centrally, or move our fwds wide, every time we seem to fail miserably it's because players like Cash and Digne get double marked and teams park the bus. We can't play slow ponderous football if it doesn't draw the team out like it didn't work with Forest. Diaby and Watkins were barely involved because no one was trying to play centrally, Diaby kept coming further and further back to touch the ball. It's a quite easy tactic to foil us away from home, push/pull us over every time we are on the ball, our midfield never gets fouls give for them especially Doug. Then double mark the fullbacks, sit back, block and break with long balls into the channels. It's surprisingly easy considering how great we are meant to be.
  17. I feel like he just needs a bit of luck and he will start to show the potential that he has already shown in glimpses his confidence is shot to pieces, getting hauled off at half time and missing chance after chance, he could have had some world class goals by now, if Unai can get that back I think we will start to see why we brought him here, it's whether or not the bad luck and form will kill his chances i'm sure the gambling stuff hasn't helped. we need more options up front, need Ramsey and Moreno back and Duran.
