we also aren't cutting out the endless balls over the top and beating the press very often, took about 15 attempts to affectively play out from the back vs Newcastle. I think we have a strong 11 with one set of tactics and plan, as soon as we start losing players and have to improvise that goes to absolute shite.

he played well when he was in a free role and with the ball in front of him. now he is double marked and pushed onto the right, he can't effect play anymore or hold the ball up well. it is a throw back to how Bailey was. His confidence is also shot to pieces.

Decent for twenty minutes, not sure how we survived the amount back passes and botched clearances, Emi both the king and the joker. Why did we bring Bailey on with 2 mins to go?? Lack of subs was baffling. Hoping it's mainly ring rust, but we've been this way for a while now, the break was meant to help.... -

Fair enough, not saying there hasn't been interest, just think us wanting to sell in the Jan window seems extremely unlikely. A loan maybe. Obviously only Unai and the club really know what their plans are.

But that is most likely b*llocks the gutter press have hooked onto this narrative he is unhappy and difficult and Emery didn't sign him and has issues with him, there maybe some truth, but more likely it's just the dirt sheets trying to create a story that isn't there.

I can't believe we forced Philogene to leave with a 40 mil buy buck and now are trying to buy a player who is very similar to Philogene and Ramsey yet not as good as either who we could have bought for £5 in the summer regardless of any pre-existing agreement with Boro & City. We're Villa we should be spending £50 mil on every player now, look at Diaby that's who we should be buying at least ten times every season. gah

I have nothing against buying proven internationals/talent at big ticket prices. But our youth and development system is still a fair bit behind the big teams. People get triggered if people compliment the likes of Brentford or Brighton, but no one bats an eyelid when City, Arsenal, Liverpool etc etc bring in young talent from all levels of all leagues across all countries. Not going to deny it is a random pick and the timing is equally odd, but we need to balance the big buys with lower risk, lower cost gambles. We've always gambled on potential, we're not too big for this now just because we're doing well.

There is nothing wrong with believing we should sign Timo Werner on loan, you can hold this view and also believe we should sign young upcoming players, neither opinion is invalid or in opposition to one another not aimed at you, just saying

Whether it be from injuries/suspensions etc, we have just looked really unbalanced all over the pitch, we are also very slow and frustrating to watch at times, I get drawing players out of position but half the time it has no affect and teams just pull all their men back and double up on the wings. I also notice that if players are moving forwards and get fouled we get free kicks but if our plays are clattered down in our own half as a result of pressing, no matter if it is a foul or not we never get anything, it's like possession won from the press has no rules. Probably not just us either.
