  1. We just don't have the squad and quality to be a Top 4 team, the players that are stepping in just aren't performing, we rely too heavily on the same players and our mental strength is poor because we don't have leaders all over the pitch. You can't underestimate how much having no Mings, Buendia for the whole season and losing Kamara, shot us to bits, then having Ramsey and Torres intermittently at best, whilst Diaby, Duran and Zaniolo have mostly struggled (when fit).
  2. Injuries and the covering players like Diaby, Zaniolo, Carlos and Tielemans coming in and looking poor is costing us, we just don't have the squad to be a top 4 side.
  3. lazy stupid play all round handed them the game on a plate
  4. https://www.astonvillanews.co.uk/2024/02/18/aston-villa-v-nottingham-forest-injury-news-doctor-shares-nicolo-zaniolo-update/ It is speculation at the end of the day but more likely than we aren't allowed to bring him on for more than 5 minutes because it will count as an appearance type piffle Doctor: Aston Villa player unlikely to start v Nottingham Forest amid fitness issues Dr Rajpal Brar Sun 18 February 2024 18:40, UK
  5. Gordon Ramsey is the oldest Ramsey and he's sh*t
  6. Apparently he's not getting more minutes because he is lacking in fitness, which makes you wonder why he is on the bench in the first place. But then again we had Torres and Ramsey on the bench when nowhere near fully fit.
  7. aside from the communication error, he was really solid, dare i say better than Carlos would have done (maybe)
  8. wasn't it the same reason Manure's first goal should have been disallowed?
  9. have to hope no one in that defence gets injured
  10. I don't have any issue with Lenglet or Pau's passing and ability to play out, both are decent with Pau obviously capable of some incredible key passes. My issue, is neither has very good positional sense or physical ability to shut down a defender, so playing a ball over the top or set piece with those two would instil utter dread. Konsa and Mings are the kings of this and at least Carlos is physical. But both Pau and Lenglet are two similar so putting them side by side is like going to the fish and chip shop and order chips with an extra side of chips.
  11. We either have to give him some minutes or just cut our losses and push Rogers instead. This 10-15 minute cameo stuff is just utterly pointless. I imagine he will get more time in Europe.
  12. no idea why he was being asked to mark that slab head shrek pr*ck
  13. Can we not just get a bigger bench in from B&Q?
  14. I personally think it's partially a very limited set of tactics and an even more limited set of players being available to execute them. Our best eleven can in most instances, hang with anyone, especially at home, but bit by bit injuries and poor form have exposed our limitations. Not many teams have a plan B and we are now firmly operating with our B list defence and a midfield that look utterly knackered and off form.
  15. Konsa and Pau driving forward creates space, without that we are really struggle to play through the midfield
  16. Cash, Carlos, Lenglet, Moreno is a recipe for utter disaster, not one of those players is playing well defensively or providing leadership and good positioning sense, its not just about our defence losing form, but i'd say it's the biggest issue we have right now and losing Konsa who is hands down our best defender is a huge blow. Playing Pau for his distribution will help, but he needs someone like Mings or Konsa next to him, putting him next to one of the chuckle brothers isn't going to solve our issues.
  17. Zaniolo for 3 mins of normal time, are we hoping his blonde highlights will confuse the Chelsea back line into scoring own goals.
  18. You can literally trace each moment we got weaker and more predictable, starting with Digne and Torres getting injured. The more we have relied on Lenglet, Cash and Carlos the worse we have looked. Then patchy form/fatigue and injury/availability of Diaby, Bailey, Tielemans, Ramsey has made us look a shadow of the team we are capable of. Losing Konsa has really capped that off and unless we are able to refresh the team and get players back I don't see this terrible run of form ending, regardless of the result vs Sheffield United who gave us more space than Nasa..
  19. For a bit of balance, when he first joined he actually played well at times, scored a few decent goals aswell. He was always a utility player and could do a job. But we've moved up a few levels and his lack of a consistent position and game time has harmed him, coming in from the cold to play in midfield or defence for one random game is never going to produce what we need. We learnt early on in Europe that making too many changes cost us results. I like the guy, but def surprised he would fight so hard to stay and refuse first team football.
