  1. I am not the FIFA generation and I confirm I don't look at anyone over 27 who is not Linford Christie as totally useless. But I can confirm Henderson is totally useless and an utter asshat to boot. I'd rather have Glenn Whelan back at current age.
  2. I miss the days when this thread was about links to players we might sign or general made up nonsense, rather than a never ending circular debate whether we will buy anyone or can buy anyone.
  3. So Moreno wasn't 29 when we signed him and we didn't try and sign Acuna at 31? ok then
  4. *clicks on 15th vague click bait article link hoping it's Ngonge related only to find out it's another thinly worded Finn Azaz article fup you internet!
  5. Goalkeeper? There can't be a single one of us that doesn't yell out in terror when we see Olsen on a team sheet, even if he has definitely improved of late. Also if Watkins got injured could Duran step up? Not seen much evidence he is ready for that yet, he's never looked that good when he's started. Could Zaniolo play that role? I don't think so personally but who knows Diaby and Bailey don't have the physical presence to play the lone forward.
  6. I'm hoping that some of the deals we tried to get over the line in the last few transfer windows come back around as clubs realise they will lose money as contracts run down
  7. I don't understand why recently him and Bailey seem to be playing in the same space and areas, whereas previously when they played together one was on the left and one on the right, but now with a utterly ineffective Ramsey back on the right we seem completely unbalanced.
  8. 2023 Jan transfers to name but a few Spurs: Pedro Porro Arsenal: Trossard, Jorginho Wolves: Matheus Cunha Forest: Danilo Newcastle: Anthony Gordon Liverpool: Cody Gakpo All desperate poorly run clubs.
  9. I think it's hard to deny that whist our first eleven can beat most teams in the league. As soon as just a couple of players are unavailable we start to struggle and at the moment that will be the difference between us finishing in the top 4 and not. The big teams in the top 6 often manage to make big signings in January when needed, so we have to think like they do, not saying we spank 100 mil on one player but a couple of signings shouldn't be out of reach. We seem to buy proven big name talent these days mostly, whereas I hope we fish out a few bargains and develop some overseas talent, think i'd rather have potential than dead wood in the squad. Buying young players potential in January feels a lot easier than buying ready made solutions also. But having said that now we have the set up we do, getting some high quality players from the Spanish league seems more feasible now. Look at Moreno. It's frustrating Tielemans was starting to become a key player before injury. Zaniolo has showed signs of life. But Ramsey needs to be benched and give time off the bench till he gets his confidence back as he offers nothing at the moment. But as many have covered 100s of times in this thread we need more cover for Watkins and at right back at the bare minimum.
  10. subs were too late and the final two killed off the game in Utd's favour, master class.
  11. wonder how 2023 has been for the 'low block' word use bingo, feel like i'd never heard the word before this year, now it's on every thread and every 5th post. but yes not sure why he and Cash aren't attacking more on the overlap
  12. More chance of seeing Elvis and 2Pac
  13. has he been injured? Is he fit now? Odd he didn't play in the EC - someone def said he was injured
  14. groundhog day away from home had some good chances without looking at all convincing in any department, we are getting bullied off the ball far too easily, slow decision making is costing us
  15. So glad Bailey is proving so many on here wrong! I confess to giving up on Zaniolo, mainly because of the loan situation, will he actually find some form at a point we can safely make the move permanent (still nightmare flashbacks to signing Coutinho permanently when he had not done nearly enough to justify that) , if we'd already spent 30 mil on him and he was our player i'd be a lot less likely to give up on him. But the more I see Bailey thrive the more I want/hope Zaniolo can do the same. Hope we give Bailey a new contract soon!
  16. I can understand why Emery is playing Konsa at right back and bringing Carlos in, but doing this vs City or Arsenal is a huge risk. Carlos and Pau just don't look comfortable as a pairing and need more time playing together. Cash is either decent or poor, not much in between this season, but if we defend like we did against Bournemouth we will get torn apart.
