  1. That kid on the adverts that keeps fetching dirty water for his family to drink. Is he completely stupid?
  2. That's a very harsh assessment of the EU.
  3. AEW seem to be repeating the mistakes of WCW and TNA. Having Jeff Jarrett in a Texas Chainsaw Massace Match was a horrendous low point. AEW really needs to push its own talent and ditch some of the ex-WWE talent. I really do not want to see the Hardy Boys, Keith Lee, Jeff Jarrett , Christian Cage etc.
  4. @Jonesy7211 It's great to hear that there is good news on both fronts. I hope the good news continues.
  5. No. It's no different to blowing up bridges, destroying fuel dumps or destroying rail tracks. A functioning power system has an obvious military value.
  6. I lived in Brum for 5 years and I was involved in 2 accidents. Neither were my fault. In the last 20 years of living in a sleepy country village I have been involved in no accidents. That shows that ( in general) someone driving regularly in Brum is more likely to have an accident than someone driving in my current home area.
  7. I don't agree. Your premium is already based upon where you live. Statistically a high crime area that is exceptionally busy will lead to more claims than a sleepy retirement village. But where we drive is equally important. If I am involved in 5 accidents a year it shows that I regularly drive in areas where accidents occur. From a statistical viewpoint, whether I am to blame is irrelevant. It simply shows that I am more at risk than someone who hasn't been involved in any accident.
  8. They had Ukraine surrounded on 3 sides. The Russian Army was much bigger and much better equipped. Russia had inital success. But since Ukraine has been equipped with modern weapons the Russian Army has been a disaster. Estimates place Russian losses at 200,000 - 250,000 Wagner admitted to losing 20,000 in Bakhmut alone. They have lost their flagship to a country with no navy. They cannot gain air superiority over a country with no air superiority fighters. All Russia has shown since June 2022 is that they are good at WW1 tactics. They can dig trenches and take small amounts of land with massive casualties. The stated aims of the SMO were - Stop NATO expansion. NATO is bigger then ever. Demilitarise Ukraine. Ukraine's forces are bigger and better armed than 2 years ago. Stop westernisation of Ukraine. Ukraine is more western than ever. Protect Russian speakers in east Ukraine. They can't protect Russian speakers in west Russia. I am not sure how any of that is propaganda? Russia isn't clueless. Its corrupt, inept and genocidal.
  9. Russian sources are reporting that the rail lines onto the Kerch Bridge has been hit. Some think it's a railway sidings and cargo depot. We'll know more tomorrow but its good news.
  10. I'll always remember that emotional line "Jerry, some queers burnt my club down".
  11. I got mine from "The Range". It was £2.69 a tube. https://www.therange.co.uk/decorating/paint-and-painting-accessories/painting-accessories/fillers/soudal-repair-express-cement/?position=6&s=168210
  12. Thanks for this link. I used this to repoint and it looks great.
  13. It's been a satisfying summer of DIY. 2 bedrooms redecorated with built in wardrobes replaced in 1. Stair bannister and spindles sanded (never again) and painted. Rear garage door repaired and repainted. Various areas of brickwork repointed. Driveway and patio pressure washed. Fence panel fitted. No trips to A&E, no major mishaps and no calls to tradesmen to undo my mistakes.
  14. This is quite an interesting tale. Several of the sailors in the video were recognised by family. A few days later they were told that their relative was "Absent - location unknown". This is very different to "Missing in action " or ""Missing - presumed dead". It's more akin to being "Absent without leave". Months later they were deemed "Missing - presumed dead" by a judge who ruled they were probably killed by the mishandling of ammunition. UK naval sources said the Russian Navy doesn't invest in damage control systems that would have saved the ship. Apparently a UK ship of the same type has an automated firefighting system that would have activated within 1 second of the strike. The loaded missiles would have been automatically jettisoned once the fire spread towards them. But most importantly the Uk navy gives its sailors shoes with heat resistant soles. Russia doesn't. Many of the Moskva crew would have been running over red hot decking in bare feet as their shoes melted away. We learnt a lot from the Falklands.
  15. The Captain of the Moskva and the crew were shown on TV the day after the Moskva sank. Several of those shown are still "missing".
  16. Apparently the Leopard is streets ahead of any Russian tanks when fighting at range. Particularly at night and in poor visibility, The Challenger is proving to be near indestructable. The recent publicised "burning challenger" shed a track and was abandoned by the crew. It was hit by Russian fire but has been recovered with repairable damage. Let's see how Colonel Abrams performs? I hope none get trapped.
  17. @Jonesy7211 There has been a lot of advice posted on here. I love being part of a forum that can actually help people even if its a small amount. A couple of things are apparent to me as I look at your situation as a complete outsider. You want to know why she wants a divorce. But does that matter at the moment? It might become apparent in the coming weeks. Even if you work it out correctly you will not know its correct. Put it on one side, In my 5 decades on this planet I have discovered a question that can help in many difficult situations. "Is there anything I could say or do that would change your mind? " Ask her that question in a calm manner once the dust has settled. Tell her you want her to think carefully and give you the answer a week later. Whatever answer she gives will help you move forward. You are worried about your health. But serious illness of a loved one is almost as stressful. No-one makes good decisions in under extreme stress. For the next few weeks you should concentrate on YOU. Whatever situation you face - get help. Having others who are not under the same pressure as you and can look at the situation objectively isn't going to make things worse - so why not use them. Look up mental health support in your NHS area. Ring 111 an ask what help is available.
  18. Mrs Lifeboats had to take her car for service today. We live a 5 minutes walk away from the dealer. This morning I told her that she should do her bit for the environment and walk over to the dealer. She got to the end of the drive before realising that taking the car was fairly crucial if you want it serviced. We had a phone call this afternoon to say the car was ready for collection. I again suggested that she walked over. He response was - "Do you think I am going to fall for that again?"
  19. Correct. The episode contains the advice "Spiders can't hurt you".
  20. What drugs did they suspect Peppa Pig of using?
  21. No. (Nor was he the first boxer to pass one)
  22. An episode of Peppa Pig cannot be broadcast in Australia because its a danger to children. Why?
  23. Boxer Henry Armstrong was a World champion at 3 different weights. He did something that no other boxer had done. What?
  24. Of course it was badly timed. People under extreme stress can make bad decisions.
