  1. Just personal opinion. I think United beat us, again, that's just me and i think Watford will then be motivated to put real daylight between us and them. We've work to do before that West Ham game even becomes relevant. We need points. None of this targeting this game or that game. If we go out to try and stay in the game as long as possible tomorrow we'll get beaten. We aren't good enough, shape, tactically, playing out from the back if we win it back from them to nick it. Attitude must be on a different level tomorrow but i mean it feels like we are always saying this because you know United are coming hard tomorrow . That's a given.
  2. No. West Ham are 4 points ahead of Aston Villa. That is a fact. An irrefutable one at that. You start a sentence with the the words " the fact is " then your next word is " if " and look hey what you are saying may or may not happen, bloody well hope it does but you can't lump it in with the word fact. One fact. They are 4 points ahead of us. The rest is hypothetical.
  3. And Watford i think will be safe if they beat Newcastle and i think they will, not going on the evidence of this evening, City can do that to anyone. Watford will get a win and a point elsewhere.
  4. Look, i mean it's all subjective but would you rather be in their position or ours ? Can piss and moan about how equally bad they are to us, which of course isn't factual because they've 4 more points than us. Yes we've a game in hand but it's a moot point when you speak about Villa. Even you can't keep a straight face and tell me we'll win tomorrow. Game in hands are all well and good. Ya have to win em though .
  5. We aren't. Just not won since January but hey ho. We'll suddenly blow away all around us, can't wait for this. United be warned, were coming. ( Oh how could villa stay up with negative fans like me yada yada zzzzzz )
  6. From the outside looking in aswell , when we spent 3 years down there, we are way too soft when it comes to negotiating with a player. Loads have downed tools the minute they walked through the Villa door and some were in hindsight just not very good. A culture of winning must be established here, not entitlement. And with the playing staff especially, that culture comes from your coaching team. Maybe we'll dispense of the head coach model going forward and revert to a manager who has far more autonomy on who comes and goes. Smith and Suso - it's such a weird random fit even.
  7. The doc really did screw us over in those 2 years. He couldn't give a flying **** about long term sustainability. His greedy little hands wanted that PL money ASAP.
  8. Pretty much. And we kinda got into the spend our way out of it and short term fix mentality the summer we went down really right up to last January. 2 or 3 players carried that team to promotion. You'll see what these owners are really about with the business they do should we drop down.
  9. We might of made a total mess of who we recruited but the call to release who we did when we did was spot on. I'll not knock them for that. Look where those players are since basically. Hutton and Jedinak have effectively retired. Whelan got released by Hearts, at Fleetwood now. Elphick, Adomah and Green( recently released ) all playing championship football.
  10. Villa will turn it all around mate and you'll have the last laugh or no......just get new mates
  11. He could boss the championship. Time he'd have on the ball. Plus it's not world cup year so he won't have to be panicking about playing top flight football next season if he wants to get into a Brazilian squad.
  12. They look stacked in midfield. Everton's problem is they sign too many i think.
  13. I think Luiz is our 2020 Gueye, not footballing style etc. In terms of showing bits of quality here but ultimately he'll move and go on to play his best football with a better team. ( hopefully without a 7 million relegation clause in his contract though )
  14. Trying to keep confidence up ? He threw Konsa under the bus the other week, publicly. Google it if you want to
  15. We make crap decisions right across the board, continuously. Brighton can go get someone like Dan Ashworth, we get Suso. I'd wager we are paying are our guy far more too. The Villa way.
  16. Nicklas Dorsch. Midfielder. Heidenheim. Left Bayern for them on a free 2 years ago. Wouldn't cost a fortune either.
  17. Mate he's used it plenty. Busy day ahead. Won't be scrolling through post match press conferences to satisfy your conscience. Sorry.
  18. Of 3 points ? No, not the same thing.
  19. Was kinda paraphrasing and joking, hence the lack of quotes. I know jack been the most fouled player cant be an out for him to use if we get relegated, obviously , although he likes to use it a fair bit when we get beaten.
  20. Think he's gone back into banking which was his background anyway. Got serious flak when he sacked Adkins ( who had them outside the relegation zone at the time ) Pochetino didn't speak a word of English. Cortese stayed calm and asked fans to trust him.
  21. That's completely neutral and very hard to argue with isn't it.
  22. Bournemouth have signed some wasters on ridiculous wages. If by a miracle from McGrath we stayed up, id take Lewis Cook. Ake is a bit of a hype job even. Gonna be some shop sale when they go down.
  23. https://mobile.twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1280623102024695808 My thoughts exactly.
  24. Maybe it's high time Aston Villa get up of their hole and do Aston Villa a favour .
