    I don’t want to judge a match that I can’t actually see but the warning signs are still there . I desperately want to support Bruce but he’s just sucking any potential out of enjoying football this season. Think about it. If Bruce leaves us, where’s he going to end up? He’s the next Alan Curbishley or Steve McLaren. We’re his last chance at the big time and he’s just not got it any more. Sorry Steve.

    I’m ‘watching’ this through questionable text commentary. Can anyone comment on the formation we’re playing (and where people are playing) and the manner of the performance?

    So I was reading that an awful lot in football is about fine margins and is largely down to chance. Bruce will use this kind of lanaguage after the game. The fact of the matter is this: Steve Bruce cannot motivate this group of men. The performances this season have not been inspiring (barring the surprisingly entertaining game versus Brentford). He doesn’t know how to set them up. I’m incredibly worried.

    Worried by the lack of CB links, tbh. The lack of which will ruin what has been an excellent transfer window in most other respects (in terms of incoming players). Bruce’s comments in the pre-game conference before Reading suggest he sees Jedi eventually fitting into the CB role. As much as I hope this is the case, I don’t think it’ll happen. Jedi’s aerial prowess is excellent but, as other posters have suggested, there’s more to defensive work in 2018/19 than having a slab for a forehead. I’m sorry to keep harping on about this issue but it’s a failing in the team that has the potential to be terminal. I’d certainly be targeting it if I was an opposition manager.

    I certainly think that the new owners should be proud to embrace this sort of thing. Whether that means renaming a stand (though it’s probably be the North Stand) or celebrating important figures in our club’s history, we should really push this more. Having said that, the club also needs to be realistic and accept sponsorship opportunities on stands, too. It’s a tough balancing act but I’d really like to see the owners make a statement.

    I appreciate that the EFL is probably limited by the way it has written its rules, but this is just a joke. This is beyond violent conduct. How much does McGinn earn a week? What if that stamp would have ended his career? How much money could that stamp have been worth? I know it’s a bit of a hackneyed argument but kids are watching this stuff. We think we celebrate great skilful platers but we actually protect unprofessional thugs. You can’t defend this. RDL got the same length of ban for Antwerp for flipping off the referee. Bad but not likely to end the ref’s career. Having read so much about Brentford’s ‘ethos’, I’d expect them to condemn his behaviour.

    My take is that Bruce knows Tuanzebe needs games so he’s giving him time at RB to acclimatise while RDL is suspended. What I’m hoping to see is RDL come back, Tuanzebe move into the centre within Chester and Hutton to continue on the left (in the absence of a new signing at LB). As folks on here have said before, Bruce has no time for Elphick so, with is so light at centre half, I can only assume Bruce sees Tuanzebe going there.

    Dear Mr Bruce, Please read this post. Don’t be tempted to hoover up all the attacking players (and then convert them to RBs). We we just want a CB. And maybe an LB. thanks, KRM 30 and 3 quarters PS: you most certainly will not fit down my chimney. No that is not a euphemism.

    I still can’t understand a former centre half can’t organise or inspire confidence in his defensive players.
