  1. far from proper decent CCTV on every single street/corner though isn't it. Hell even most shops inbternal cctv looks like it was shot with a motorola flip phone. Facial recognition cameras would be a lot more accurate over time with HQ cameras quite literally everywhere, Combine this with tracking peoples phones or even better internal microchips to track everone & i imagine it would be pretty reliable
  2. Think i am obviously one of the few but i have no issues at all with stuff like that, Chip me, track me, listen to my phone calls/alexa. Have 8k cameras & drones covering every single street i really don't care & not just as a response to anything virus related. Go back 6 months & would gladly say the same about general every day life.
  3. I think some peoples complete anti tory/anti brexit views blinker people to how popular/liked he actually is amongst the general population. Maybe that nice but dim, child rugby tacking, stuck on a zipline get brexit done bit of a toff bellend but right in the shit with us is kinda what people need to feel a bit better about the current situation
  4. Not sure it's so much that really. If you are in the supermarket/shop for your food, bog roll & paracetamol and end up buying a plant, a bottle of wine & some other random things i don't think anyone really cares but when people are going out specifically just to buy the plant/tin of paint/picture frame, bottle of wine etc it isn't really an essential trip is it. Tabloids are full of pictures of people with trollies full of just compost, plants, home decorating stuff. I know people still need to do stuff during the time off but it isn't a gigantic bank holiday and some/lots of people are taking the piss Guess the moral of the story is if you are going out to buy some needless shit buy some food too...
  5. watched that at the time, wsa really good, you can see half way through he just thought sod it they haven't got a clue & will buy any old shit so stopped trying
  6. Nothing beats the boomerang
  7. America has a population twice the size of the UK, Italy & Spain combined, If they were getting 5000+ deaths per day it would barely even equal the same sort of deaths per million population of 3 of the "worst" countries
  8. Are you actually better now? Pretty sure this has f**ked something up properly in my lungs/heart. Still struggling to breathe properly for long periods most days & fairly constant pain on my left side/heart which ranges from generally uncomfortable to shit that doesn't feel good
  9. i guess the thing we don't know is are the total number of deaths any higher. Averaged out over the year (i know not the most scientific method as more people will die in winter) around 1600 die in the UK every day. Are these 500/700/900 daily corona deaths actually making any/much difference to that? Today we have a record 900 or so but is that 900 + 100 without any signs of covid-19, if so that's actually a pretty good day, 900+500 without, if so thats probably about average but if it's 900+ 1600 then it is rather grim
  10. Maybe the whole lebensborn master race thing worked, Rates low in Norway too....
  11. That's possibly the one good thing to come out of this. Sure it's spread to rediculous levels but in real terms it hasn't actually killed many people, 2/3 months in & we are still at barely half the amount of people that die every single day. Hopefully this will mean that we are far better prepared for something that may be far more lethal in future with companies like dyson/f1 teams etc all now able to get up and running production wise on completely unusual things within days and you would think that other factories etc will be looking at what they can do and supermarkets/amazon will have a far better idea of what instant chaos looks like and how to avoid/prevent it happening again. Probably also needs someone somewhere to throw away a few patents on things to allow any/everyone to produce things en masse in cases of emergency

  13. Bad news for gay redneck polygamists, Con men, Cult leaders & Husband murderers... A Tiger at New Yorks Bronx Zoo has apparently tested positive for Covid-19, 3 other tigers & 3 lions at the zoo may also have it apparently. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/04/05/bronx-zoo-tiger-tests-positive-covid-19/2952027001/ Published 6:54 PM EDT Apr 5, 2020 NEW YORK - Federal officials confirmed a tiger at the Bronx Zoo tested positive for COVID-19, the first known instance of a tiger being infected with the virus. Nadia, a four-year-old Malayan tiger, was tested after her sister Azul, two Amur tigers and three African lions developed a dry cough. The animals are all expected to recover. "We tested the cat out of an abundance of caution and will ensure any knowledge we gain about COVID-19 will contribute to the world’s continuing understanding of this novel coronavirus," said the Wildlife Conservation Society, which manages the Bronx Zoo. The United States Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Services Laboratories confirmed the tests on Sunday and is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along with state animal and public health leaders to determine whether animals, at the zoo or in other areas, should be tested for COVID-19. The USDA said there have not been reports of pets being infected with COVID-19 in the United States, but recommended that people with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. If a sick person must care for a pet or be around animals, they should wash their hands before and after the interaction, the department said.
  14. Has anything ever gone from nothing to everywhere to back to nothing as quickly as Zoom? https://www.businessinsider.com/new-york-city-schools-banning-zoom-after-security-concerns-2020-4?utm_source=feedburner&amp%3Butm_medium=referral&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+businessinsider+(Business+Insider)&r=US&IR=T The New York City Department of Education is banning Zoom just weeks after students and teachers shifted to the video-conferencing platform. Department of Education Chancellor Richard Carranza announced on April 4 that security and privacy issues were behind the department's decision to ban the platform "as soon as possible," according to a memo reported by Chalkbeat. Schools are instead being directed to use Microsoft Teams, which the department has already started training teachers and staff to use, according to Chalkbeat. The platform is compliant with student privacy laws, including FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

  16. Not really sure why footballers are getting slaughtered so much. I am sure if the clubs (prem clubs at least) had gone to them and said we need your help to keep paying the non playing staff whilst this is going on they would have all been happy enough to chip in on a pro-rata basis. Not even sure that would be possible any further down the leagues as i imagine there will be a good chunk of players themselves being furloughed / let go. There are plenty of other people earning a shitload of money out there that nobody is saying anything about and factories/banks/shops/pubs will be furloughing day to day staff by the million with plenty of higher ups still on full pay. Have the BBC furloughed the hundreds of staff that are usually in the background on the news? is the person they are paying a million quid a year to read a teleprompter getting forced into a 30% pay cut and publically shamed? Still paying Lineker? what about the match of the day cameraman/production staff?

  18. Split of Covid deaths in England as of last night : Total - 3,939 Over 80 years old : 2071 (53%) 60-79 years old : 1549 (39%) 40-59 years old : 282 (7%) 20-39 years old : 32 (0.8%) 0-19 years old : 5 (0.1%) 92% over 60 years old. More than every other person over 80 Really wish the 60-79 bracket was broken down far more into 5 year sections or something. I know the whole world is in lockdown panic chaos but it really does look like this is primarily just wiping those out that the flu missed this year. The hospitals could more than likely cope with the actual numbers of people ok but the problem (much like the supermarkets running out of very specific items) is that everyone has the exact same thing and it is all happening at the same time. This is still only 4000 people in a month England & wales registered 56,000+ deaths in Jan 2020 England & wales registered 43,600+ deaths in Feb 2020
  19. Todays miracle cure is invermectin, commonly used to combat headlice & used to prevent spreads of parasites on salmon farms https://www.monash.edu/discovery-institute/news-and-events/news/2020-articles/possible-coronavirus-drug-identified-by-monash-university-scientists A Monash University-led study has shown that an anti-parasitic drug already available around the world can kill the virus within 48 hours. Scientists showed that a single dose of the drug, Ivermectin, could stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus growing in cell culture. The next steps are to determine the correct human dosage – ensuring the doses shown to effectively https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354220302011 Although several clinical trials are now underway to test possible therapies, the worldwide response to the COVID-19 outbreak has been largely limited to monitoring/containment. We report here that Ivermectin, an FDA-approved anti-parasitic previously shown to have broad-spectrum anti-viral activity in vitro, is an inhibitor of the causative virus (SARS-CoV-2), with a single addition to Vero-hSLAM cells 2 hours post infection with SARS-CoV-2 able to effect ∼5000-fold reduction in viral RNA at 48 h. Ivermectin therefore warrants further investigation for possible benefits in humans.
  20. Seems to be the same everywhere, Mail are having a field day with it. Loads of pictures & videos of hundreds of people out & about. This is not lockdown. Just a few shops are closed. Video below needs to be seen to be believed really https://videos.dailymail.co.uk/video/mol/2020/04/04/2003732278786017431/640x360_MP4_2003732278786017431.mp4 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8186935/Police-tell-holidaymakers-stay-home-Easter-holiday-period.html With temperatures heading for the mid to high 60s, health chiefs were afraid people would ignore the government's coronavirus lockdown rules, jeopardising the strategy of limiting the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus. Officials warn the lockdown may have to be extended if people continue to ignore the advice to stay at home and only go out for essential reasons. In London's Regent Park, dozens of 'Middle-Aged Men in Lycra' (MAMILs) ignored the Government's Covid-19 lockdown rules to congregate in Regent's Park in London to ride their bicycles in large groups. Groups of men, clad in lycra, riding in close formation. Across in Paddington, keep fit fans were photographed training in a recreation ground - again ignoring social distancing rules. In Cambridge, groups of people lazed on the banks of the River Cam enjoying the sunshine. Groups of people were also spotted in Brighton, jeopardising the government's Covid-19 strategy. Police chiefs have warned that people breaching the coronavirus lockdown rules face being fined. Forces plan to step up patrols in beauty spots and major routes to the coast, as officers warn 'lockdown in Easter shouldn't be much different from lockdown' on any other day.
