  1. I quite like a collar now and then as long as it isn't massive. The same old necks get boring. Hopefully this speeds up the release of the actual official images. Every year for as far as I can remember we always seem to have to wait for ages to see the new shirts.
  2. The players we've signed so far are 24, 28, 23, 22 and 23. Their balls have dropped.
  3. Might be worth waiting to see who they sign with all that extra cash first.
  4. You're supposed to hang them up on a wall but each to their own.
  5. You simply can't keep doing it. If clubs sign your best with a week or 2 before the season then you could have missed out on your top choices to replace them. I don't for a single second think your 3rd/4th/5th choice signing can get you where you want. You can make some money off them but time and again, despite developing good talent, you don't end up in the play-offs or promotion spots. You lose Benrahma a few days before the season starts, I just can't see you signing someone who can replicate or improve. There's obviously signing potential and coaching them to that standard but it'll take time. You'll make some cash but ultimately fall short as it's a constant change and re-hash. If Brentford do aspire to get in the Prem then, as you say, they'll have to stop selling and build on what they already have.
  6. 2.18 on that video. Most players haven't got that in their locker, even the best
  7. I love the video but if I hear any more Lewis Capaldi I'm going to elbow my ears into my skull. Give me that crap Euro pop-dance-trance spunk they usually put on.
  8. That, in a nutshell, is us after Phillips and Webster, they know it's what we need and thus the price will soar. Unfortunately for us, we need a lot.
  9. Looks like a suave French word removed to me. Tall, strong, a real reader of the game, a baller rather than hoofer who will very much meld into our team. I base this on a 3 min video from a 2015 youth tournament which, I think we can all agree is more than enough evidence that he's good enough to scissor any oppositions timbers.
  10. I thought Mawson looked good for Swansea, even when they went down but maybe that was partly skewed by the fact he was good attacking corners and such. I don't think he really got a proper run at Fulham but I could be wrong. I'd be looking for better as a 1st choice but as a back up he'd be absolutely fine if you ask me.
  11. Nah, don't agree with you there. The whole point is that they are better than the Championship and fit in with our style of play and are players that also play in positions we're not blessed in.
  12. Taylor was born and raised in Ruthin which is very much Welsh with plenty of Welsh speakers. He went through the Man City youth system before moving to the Wrexham youth academy (my hometown club), Wrexham are very much a proud Welsh club but have played in the English leagues from very early on, (and also very proud to be playing within the English league system too,) Birmingham and District League from 1905/06 season. As much as people rag on Taylor, he very much counts to our quota from all angles.
  13. Oi, Purslow, transfer committee, we all know you read this forum to decide who we sign. Go get Jules Kounde instead of Bristol City trying to keg us. 20 years old, fits our style and no dearer than Webster I would imagine. To all you shitty journalists and junk sites like Football Insider and HITC, let's get this snowballing on your click bait sites. Ask Noel Whelan and Peter Fear what they reckon to him joining.
  14. Would people prefer a pacey left back whose final ball is poor, can't pick out a tough pass to a player in a dangerous position but still looks good bombing up and down the line or someone a bit slower who can whip in a good cross, doesn't treat the ball like a hot potato and who not only can accurately thread a ball through to players but actually spot the through ball in the first place. Anyone who can do it all and has proper pace will cost £40+. I'm not getting hung up on him having epic pace when he's got a lot more to his game that will fit in with other players in the team. If we were a counter attacking team relying on over-lapping fullbacks then I'd be a bit more concerned but I suspect we'll be wanting to try and have more of the possession apart from against the top teams who it's really difficult stopping them having the majority of the ball.
  15. Austin WAS a quality striker. Now, he seems like an expensive reserve that's lost that killer instinct.
  16. I suspect there's a whole load of a lot going on transfer wise atm. The Wesley link only came an hour or so before the club announced it themselves so if we do more deals in this fashion then there could be plenty that show up out of nowhere.
  17. I'm 3/4 episodes into season 2 of Dark. It's great TV but absolutely crushes my brain.
  18. Why is £20-25m mad for Butland yet the same for Wesley was being hailed? They're both really important positions. Butland has shown his worth in the top flight and had a good season despite the rest of the team not. Butland is a far safer bet than Wesley yet far more questioned. Is the top league of Belgium that much better than the Championship? I don't say all that to demean the Wesley transfer, more try and put some perspective into things as a whole. Just like Grealish isn't a Championship player despite playing there the last 3 years, neither is Butland. He'd be 30/31 if he signed at the end of his contract. There's absolutely re-sale value there as a keeper since they go way longer. In 4 years time, average keepers in the UK top flight will be closer to £50m. Danny Ward went for £12m, previously and he's barely done sod all.
  19. It was on a straight trajectory at first but the LGBTQ lot had to dabble.
  20. Needs to lay off the cheese, or ask for slices with bigger holes in them.
