  1. Looks like Fozzie Bear sticking his tongue out
  2. Khalid Abdo - slight surprise Oscar Borg - BIG surprise - good LB reminded me of Wilf No other surprises - think they had to choose between the two young GK
  3. Our U23 forwards seem to get all the attention (Davis, Green, RHM at to a lesser degree Blackett-Taylor) but we have some promising players behind them - the two above especially, plus Suliman - and strictly speaking Bree.
  4. OK lads - we’ve run out of subtlety
  5. We have a scouting network - we just don't have anyone in charge of it since Coton went to the SOL
  6. Guess who we beat to the signature of Green ?? Might be someone is in the 2=2=5 biz Old logical trick - one of the departees isnt Chester - but another one is - cant fool me
  7. I have always rated him higher than Suliman - considering he is 2 years younger (18)

  9. I saw a tweet that suggested that the word from the club is that we were happy with our forward options - which is understandable, We have bigger problems at the back.
  10. Shouldn't this thread be re-titled "race for survival" ??
  11. I saw a neutral observer describe Hogan's contract as "eye-watering" - so there may be an underestimation there. And I understand that Axel will be coming back next year I that the Amavi fee will be in this years accounts - but why his wages since the transfer was made permanent ??
  12. the bookies don't always know best......as a non-Villa aside, the best bet i saw was Cardiff relegated/Man City to retain = 3/1
  13. Villa fans ? lower expectations ? "Cannot compute, cannot compute...." agree with you - the last few years have either been a mad dash to avoid relegation - or a mad dash to get promoted - always pressure - and it takes a manager braver than any we've had to promote/play youth in those circumstances. if we were a mid table team, perhaps But in the Championship - it;'s not really possible to be mid table. If you/we were, we would be hoping/busting a gut for a playoff place
  14. Last player I saw do that with his shorts was Nigel Sims
  15. Villa fans AND "lower expectations" CANNOT exist in the same sentence. It is a spatial anomaly
  16. I don't think I was hallucinating (those days are long past for me) - but I'm sure I saw somewhere that it has already been decided that AT would be back with us - whichever league we are in. possibly die to the restrictions his injury had placed on him.
  17. i may be putting a curse on the lad - but over the last 18-24 months - the one that has impressed me most is Mitch Clark. - at one point - i think in the Plate final - when playing 4v4 in extra time - and him wearing the GK jersey - he ran back about 50 yards and put the tackle of the tournament on a breakaway forward from WHU. Wasn't the first time he has played GK either - he did it 2 years ago - when Sarkic (I think ) was injured before/during the SF- Mitch finished the match in goal - and ALLof the Final = which we won. Absolutely superb - and I think he could be our right back of the future. - especially if he fills out a bit
  18. Those odds are for win in 90 mins - any time odds are currently 8/13 Fulham 5/4 Villa
  19. THIS - VERY MUCH THIS - the London gamblers now make Fulham 4/6 - 4/7 in places - we can safely say we are the underdogs
  20. Apparently, Wembley police have been warned about Fulham fans bringing flares to the game
  21. Almost exactly 6 years ago - in Hong Kong
  22. Details of the HK Sevens tournament - starts for Villa on Saturday - all matches on YT https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2018/05/16/squad-for-hong-kong-sevens-anounced Viktor Johansson Isiah Bazeley-Graham Mitchell Clark Jack Clarke Jordan Cox Corey Blackett-Taylor Alex Prosser Callum O’Hare Harvey Knibbs Kelsey Mooney FOOTBALL NEWS
  23. I'm gonna wear my two tone trousers - start out denim - end up brown
  24. Div 2 Sep 1st 1973 1-1 Sir Brian OR April 1st 1975 won 3-1 Chico, Keith Leonard & Sir Brian
