    You are happy to meander around mid table and get to a cup final once every 20 years. If that's what makes you happy then fine, but it is 'safe' and unambitious. With the owners and manager we have now we can dare to dream of something a bit bigger than that. However this potential success relies on the CL money, so it is a necessary evil. We might fall short but let's give it a go, as we don't know if we will ever be in the position to do so again once this era is over.

    Especially given the amount of abuse he has received during his time at the club. He doesn't have all the attributes needed to play in Emery's system, but it is a reminder that he is still a decent shotstopper.

    If we e able to identify a couple with similar quality and price to Rogers that will be the best we can hope for, as we don't have the finances to have someone with a large wage like lenglet on the bench.

    My point is that winning second or third tier trophies hasn't helped them. They are 13th in La Liga and won't be playing in Europe at all next season. This means they are likely to lose some of their better players and will be back to square 1.

    We need a full fit Emi for olympiakos so I wouldn't rush him against Brighton unless he is 100%

    The difference is you are looking at it from a fans perspective and I'm looking at it from a club one. It might sound strange to you but they are not the same. The occasional trophy is good to celebrate and look back on for a fan, but increasing our finances will benefit the club long term and allow us to compete for trophies on a more regular basis. I get that some supporters just want to celebrate something after years of disappointment, but I the long term situation is always more important.

    I understand where you are coming from, but winning trophies without the financial muscle to compete at the top is pointless. Has winning the ECL helped West ham kick on, or Sevilla after winning the EL 3 years on the trot?! Winning a minor trophy is good for fans to celebrate, but has little effect on progressing the club long term. Competing for titles and major trophies is the end game and the only way to do that is to increase revenue exponentially through the CL.

    They have to play Sheffield United who are not adverse to shipping 4 or 5 goals in a match.

    I think Olsen could have done a bit more to try and stop the second goal, but I can't really blame him for the result or performance like some have. He could be better at playing it from the back, but his main problem is that he is not Emi, so he gets unfairly compared.

    Hopefully with Pau, tielemans and Emi back for the second leg we might just have a chance. Still very difficult though.

    I think we will get goals as olympiakos are a basket case. They conceded 4 in one leg of the last 16 and were 3 nil up against fenerbahce before letting in 2. Its like bielsa ball.
