  1. He gone yet? Edit: damn, wrong thread! Urm.. On topic, on topic, let's see... Urm.. Curbishley.
  2. There's something deeply wrong with Bruce. Conspiracy theorists will say he wants the sack. I just don't understand the Jedinak thing. I properly don't understand it. He played a different team against Burton and they were dreadful. He acknowledged that, fair play, but Jedinak had been dreadful. Is he blinded to it? Has he committed to Jedinak that he will play him there? Contractual? Who knows. It's more confusing when you take his sentence "I thought Bree and RDL were our best players" from Burton. Nowhere to be seen against Sheffield. I remember having the same thing last season. To the fans it was blindingly obvious, but to Bruce it didn't happen until his hand was forced through injury. Its happening again. The fans know our best team. It almost picks itself! How can someone consistently get it so, so wrong? Especially when the performances show its wrong. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Baffling.
  3. Just saw on Twitter that last season we had 8 points from the same fixtures. One less than we currently have and that doesn't include Wigan who were in League One. We're certainty not in a better position than last season.
  4. People still defend him. Amazing.
  5. Scenes when Villa unveil him this morning and everyone forgets this whole incident. Edit: avfctransfers1 just confirmed the deal is off. Slimey little...
  6. I don't think there is a clear minority or majority. Bruce has successfully split the fan base which was always a risk. Those who think he's the best man for promotion against those who see dour football and two seasons of failure in this league (he had 36 games left in his first season. I'm counting it.) For what it's worth, I think we'll see a change sooner rather than later. He's a manager from the old guard. The Xia era. As soon as we have a wobble, and let's face it, we'll have a wobble, I think they'll pull the trigger and bring in their own man. My money is on October. Who we replace him with is the subject. I've heard far too often "Who else? There's no one else". Leeds just hired Bielsa who's been available on and off for a while. Derby rolled the dice with Lampard and looked alright for the first game. Swansea went and got a great manager in Graham Potter. My point is, we have a habit of wanting to keep the manager because "Who else?" Well.. There's plenty of managers out there, available, play exciting football and can win games. Don't give me the Championship experience rhetoric, it's nonsense. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Oscar Garcia. Sam.
  7. He isn't. It was widely reported he had retired so he posted on Instagram saying he definitely hasn't.
  8. I dunno, Nixon had been Mr. Bruce in the past. His tweets today indicate that Bruce knew nothing of Andre Moreira and knows nothing of the other four. He can still put forward recommendations, but they will be weighed up against Mendes' recommendations. I asked if Bruce could work in those conditions and Nixon said he won't walk with £2m compo on the table. But yes, Nixon is one of the 'Bruce gang'. I reckon Mendes won't be happy for long if Bruce is failing with his players and we'll probably see a change at the top before long.
  9. Bit more from the paper. Looks like someone is pulling the strings and it isn't Bruce..
  10. Bruce doesn't even know who this mysterious foreign chap is. He's waiting for it to be announced like the rest of us.
  11. I remember all this when Xia took us over. Although, this guy is known. You can Google search him, he has a Wikipedia and a company page. He's on a rich list. None of that was true for Xia when he took over. He's definitely not lying about how much money he's got like the last guy! All hail Nassef. Edit: We've had a multi-billionaire owner before. Anyone know how happy his marriage is?
  12. I found this funnier than I should have.
  13. An advantage is that Mandaric is a known entity. Xia and Lerner never owned football clubs before, Mandaric has. Fans of the three English teams he's turned around before rave about him. So you are correct, @Jareth not all grass will be greener, but this grass isn't exactly unknown.
  14. Brum Mail reporting that Xia is now in the country. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tony-xia-jets-crunch-talks-14909673.amp?__twitter_impression=true
  15. It's not what he does. He turns clubs around and then flogs them to long term owners for a profit. Seems pretty good at it and exactly what we need.
  16. Hopefully England win the World Cup and suddenly huge football fan Larry Ellison decides to takeover his favourite English team and run it properly.
  17. Just watched Bruce on Sky talking about the situation. Made it clear that Xia is looking for investment but would like to keep control if possible. Either way, Bruce said Xia needs to make his mind up about what he wants to do long term and used to the words 'if he has any money or not'. Nothing we don't necessarily already know, just odd hearing it from Bruce.
  18. Good interview. Gives an honest assessment of the situation both on and off the pitch. I may not think he's the right man to move us forward, but I'm glad he's spoken. I think a lot of fans needed this. An honest interview with a decent bloke, albeit tactically archaic. I have more faith in Bruce being honest with us than I do the Doc'.
