  1. can we lock this please? Im losing faith in humanity.
  2. first Sanchez then Fox? Am I still on an Aston Villa forum?!
  3. Lets say you could spend another year potentially fighting the relegation battle, or you could go Man U, Juventus... who knows if he will have such possibilities next year and play for really big teams (yes, I know we are big). He is not getting younger either.
  4. Champions: Chelsea Champions League qualifiers: Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd Relegation: Burnley, Southampton, West Ham Villa Position: 12th Champions League Winners: Real Madrid Top Scorer: Aguero Flop of Season: Luke Shaw Signing of Season: Alexis Sanchez 1st Managerial Sacking: Big Sam
  5. Also, Mrs Weinderfeller will have a field day with that white kit...
  6. did nobody want to put that on?
  7. I can honestly say that I will not go to see us play liverpool at VP this season, simply so that I do not have to see this kit again.
  8. I don't want to get into this argument (another thread) but too many foreigners argument is laughable. 1. English Premier League IS the best league in the world 2. Every one of English internationals is a starter at their club 3. That's right, because mr Chi or mr Kowalski are better than Smith and Murphy we should just get rid of them. I am sure that this will improve Smith and Murphy (because a lack of competition is very healthy for development isnt it). rubbish. I'd say take away the private chopper away from Barkley before he gets rotten as well...
  9. What is the difference between England and a tea bag? ..... a tea bag stays in the cup for longer. Badum tshhhhh
  10. Maybe its simply because I am a fan of no nonsense German football. I just think Spain had it coming, and will not recover from it any time soon. I hope so anyway, as I simply dont like them.
  11. I am going to contest 'the best team I have seen play' theory. Let us first look back at 2010. Spain Group Stages: Spain-Switz 0-1 Spain-Honduras 2-0 Spain-Chile 2-1 (David Villa lucky goal) Knockouts: Spain-Portugal 1-0 Spain - Paraguay 1-0 Spain-Germany 1-0 Spain-Netherlands 1-0 Altogether, never a single (maybe except against the mighty honduras) convincing win, they were never the best team in the tournament EURO 2012 Group Stages Spain-Italy 1-1 Spain-Irish 4-1 (Oh, the might Irish) Spain-Croatia 1-0 (1-0 seems to become a trend...) KONCKOUTS Spain-France 2-0 Spain-Portugal (Spain Penalty win) Spain - Italy 4-0 (granted, a great result) Altogether? again, the winners, but far from the best team in my opinion. I think they rode their luck MASSIVELY in 2010, and made an improvement on it in 2012. However, they were never 'the best'. If you wanna look at the best team of the last 4 years, look no further than Germany. The quality of that team and the wins they pull off is just incredible. They are due a win this year, and that is without one of their best best players in Reus. And lets not forget they are a bunch of primadonnas.
  12. Guys, why do some of us even bother? Lets just ignore Villa this year and watch some championship next season... ffs, get a grip. We have Okore back, Kozak back soon, Benteke back about October time, we signed Joe Cole, transfer window is not even open yet, we are still waiting for the takeover. Why so negative?! We will be fighting for 12-10 place. If somebody wants to save this post, fine, but if we are relegated next season I will pay 200 towards Acorns. Get a grip some of you and support your team. Championship b****cks. Why do you bother?
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxXTVLfr4Uc Do you remember when they trained like this? Who do you reckon would win, Baker or Gabby?
  14. exactly. It is not simply a matter of 'who is the better footballer' but also 'who is the better athlete'. It is not the 80's, and now professional sportsmen are machines. Every inch matters. exactly. It is not simply a matter of 'who is the better footballer' but also 'who is the better athlete'. It is not the 80's, and now professional sportsmen are machines. 15. I will play the role of a caring mother now, but this question needs to be adressed; 'would you jump off a bridge if all your friends did?' Just because the problem is widespread in all English clubs (one of the reasons for England's underachievements on the international scence) it doesnt mean that we can't fight with the problem in our team. Every little helps. If it would make Andi a little bit quicker and Clark a little bit more focused would you be against it? I'm making the point that it isn't the reason for our poor performances. And while I'm not against anything that makes players better in theory, I'm also fairly realistic about the prospect of abstinence-only rules presented to wealthy young men in their early 20's. It's not all that obvious that the fines, suspensions, resentments and media fallout that would inevitably happen after players broke the rules would be any more beneficial. Paulo Di Canio had lots of niggling little rules, and they certainly didn't help the players respect him. If players are turning up to matches or training in anything other than top condition, they should be fined and made clear that that's not acceptable. I would assume something to this effect is in contracts anyway. But ultimately, they're not prisoners, and their free time is their own. I dont want to go away from Vlaar topic too much (does this issue deserve it's own thread?) but if you could get a coach that will teach those kids who have way too much money and dont know how to waste it so they go out and get pissed all too often (of course, in their own time) than maybe its a good idea to somehow 'fix' their mentality. Why is Ronaldo the best player in the world? Because he spends hours after training practicing, going to the gym and doing laps around the ground. At the same time, our own Andi, Mr. No.10, goes around Michu in Birmingham buing himself 2-4-1 Vodka Red Bulls. Yes, mentality and commintment are the reasons why our players are poorer than they actually are

  17. Like I mentioned a number of times, our young guns like their booze. According to a friend of mine who knows them, Andi and Cieran are to be seen out in brum more or less every saturday night. I can imagine this must spread wider than just these two I think there are rather more obvious reasons why Weimann and Clark were always fairly unlikely to play in the World Cup. yes, true; but what I am suggesting is that the problem might be more widespread
