  1. This is why I see him as a winger at the minute. Get him one on one he can rip people apart. He can develop the decision making over time but let him play with some freedom.
  2. And I went off this seasons away form table but pointed out it's a problem from last year aswell that needs addressing. In our 2 big away games and I'd actually say 3 we've been awful. Cardiff are this seasons surprise package even though they still carried last seasons form through. When we played Reading Bruce went off of last seasons form when setting up and it was a joke and Wolves look like contenders. 3 big away games 3 awful performances. We have to start getting points at our closest rivals. We've 2 massive away games in a short space of time. Let's see if the improvement is as big as you think.
  3. The whole initial point was about the away table needing improving. Who have we beat this season where you thought what a win? You can only beat what's in front of you and I said we'd get harder runs to come but you didn't highlight that! Up until December Preston is our only really tough game against a top side we need to capitalise on it. Oh and I missed off a home win against Norwich but that shows our home form is good it's getting results away that's the issue still.
  4. Missed off Norwich but the point about our away form still stands. Our home form isn't an issue and wasn't last season. I pointed out initially that from all those tables it's the away one that's that needs improving. We still haven't won a game that I've not expected us to. From niw till December there's only one game Preston where on paper it's unexpected. Most top teams will win the games that we've so far but it'll be the head to heads that'll decide where we finally finish.
  5. It seems you chose to be a dick when you left out the rest of the sentence? My whole point is we struggle against the better teams. Our form right now is good but look at who we've played!!! Our home form has been good all along but for us to progress BRUce has to sort the away form. We need to get wins at places you don't expect. Blues will be tough. But Preston is a bigger game.
  6. Start the same team and get Gabby and Jack on the bench
  7. My point is last year you could've told took Bruces first 10 games and had the same sort of table but our away form still isn't good enough and for me personally we still haven't beaten a team that I wouldn't expect expect to. We have to start getting results against top half teams. The highest team we've beat is Fulham I think and away it's Barnsley in 19th. That has to change. We've only played 4 of the top 10 so we will have a very tough run sooner or later. Last year when Bruce came he went on a run to get us within 6 of the play offs but then we played those above us and we dropped out of it. Unless we get a backbone away and beat the top teams at home we will struggle to keep in there.
  8. Unfortunately the Villa engine hasn't got Bruce involved. Wyness said immediate priority is promotion so in Jan Bruce will be backed to gain promotion. Then once up hopefully we can implement it.
  9. Surely the biggest thing to take from all those tables is Bruce still hasn't addressed our away form fully. We know we get results at home and did all last season but that's not what the problem is. We have to start getting results away at clubs in the top half so far we've looked hopeless. We won't get promoted unless it's rectified.
  10. I don't think he's ever run away with this league he just grinds out enough results to get his teams up. I'll take that. I'll enjoy the results and not the football.
  11. But he's good enough to mount a challenge in this league and even though I think we should be playing far better football as long as we grind out enough wins to get up I'll take it. We will win more games by one goal than most and be having conversations about us playing crap and not finishing games off all season but ultimately this year is all about going up. Something BRuce knows how to do even if it's baffling having watched his team.
  12. It's strange for a couple of games he passed the ball a bit noticeably Barnsley away when a shot was on he squared it and Elmo crossed for Davis to score then at home v Bolton he went greedy and back to his infuriating best. Is he getting fitter and thinks he can do it all now?
  13. He'll get better as he gets fitter. Missing preseason does hamper players especially as we rushed him back. Let's hope he's saved up his best for next week.
  14. He's better at LB as he doesn't bomb forward as much. He's lazy getting back when he loses the ball he never sprints back he just jogs. Blues is his type of game.
  15. Isn't it all relative? Spurs are one of the top teams in the PL we are supposedly one of the top in the Championship why can't we dominate in our league?
  16. We have to learn to go for the jugular. Fulham looked shaky all game and if we upside it we could've been out of sight so wouldn't have needed to worry last 5/10 min. Onomah looked dead and OHare's energy in the 10 role would've helped but not going for it and clinging on is what Bruce does. Most say Fulham will be there or there abouts but yesterday showed this league isn't that good. It's over respecting teams that causes us problems. We still need to get a higher tempo or we will struggle in a lot of away games. Any way on to next week. Play as crap as you want just win!
  17. These problems have been here from day one. It's got to be down to the training style. Big Ron was supposed to just do five a side I've no idea what Bruce does but he certainly doesn't work on pattern of play.
  18. Probably because against Bristol he changed the shape and go to stick for it. That the sums him up to me. Bristol aren't worthy of changing our tactics but Wolves were yet he made the wrong decision both times. He's supposed to be an experienced manager yet makes silly mistakes a lot.
  19. He's had enough time to win fans over but the footballs crap and most think he will struggle to get us up. We aren't seeing improvement in style so we have to have sustained improvement in results but we aren't getting that either. Bruce will always be 2/3 games away unless he's in top 3 and playing well but that goes for most managers at clubs that want to go up. The Sheff Wed manager is under pressure already as others will be over time. The most depressing thing is how true your last line is.

I disagree completely about losing to better players. We lost to a better team and that's down to Bruce. We have to take the game to every team regardless in this league. You can alter the team or tactics but you have to be positive with the ball. Time and again we look like we font want to commit players forwards. That has to change.

So it all hinges on 25000 people watching it? That's not a big swing of people and that's being generous! I'm sure audience figures would be higher if it was at villa park as the games are generally better. We are awful to watch away most times.

That's the benefit to the club not to the audience figures

Surely being home or away doesn't matter to the TV watching fan? I understand us being on more but there's no reason to differentiate between home or away really. The venue will make little difference to those who don't go anyway.
  24. Start him with Davis on Saturday. It'll give Kodija a kick up the arse and let Hogan play with a foil for a change. Tell Hourihane to pass forward more and he'll pick Hogans runs out.
