People saying the Villa job would be too big for Dean Smith seem to be missing the fact it’s too big for Steve Bruce so who do we go for? Everyone here would take Sean Dyche or Eddie Howe but they’re a team clubs no where near as big as us. The reason I’d have Dean Smith is the Football his team play. If we’d are going to be crap let’s at least make it enjoyable. At present it’s crap football and not very good results which I dont think is hard for a new manager to beat. I hope we sack Bruce and appoint someone to match the vision of this mythical Villa Engine. I don’t buy into our club being too big for any manager or player it’s something Bruce peddles to get leeway. He isn’t a good enough manger and sometimes players aren’t going good enough either.

I actually think with Terry coming back in we will get to the playoffs regardless who is manager If he stays fit but can’t see us beating the top teams under Bruce. Bruce will go In the summer if we don’t go up so let’s get a manager in and give them this 4 months to get a style and you never know we may get some momentum and actually win the playoffs. Either way we will be in a better position by the start of next season.

But like Hogan get him in the right areas hes a good player. Lansbury and Hourihane are as good as any in this league. Both are that deep when when they play they rarely see the goal.

Some of our best players ever have been troubled! If you know there’s an issue you can work on it. Low basic wage with an appearance fee to bump it up and you’ve got a bargain if you keep him healthy.

I think forget all your other stuff number 2 is the right one. Will Bruce get us into the top 2 now? No chance for me and he’s shown nothing in 15 months to say we will go up in the playoffs. If we changed manger now I still believe results won’t get any worse with the squad we have so I don’t think it’s that big a gamble to change now. Hopefully a new manager can get us playing a style which can see us better off against the big teams by the end of this season. Last year Bruce had 12 odd games where it was obvious we weren’t getting into the playoff spot and he should’ve used it to get us playing good football he never and we now know it’s because he can’t. Let’s not make the same mistake again.

This season isn’t over yet. Sack Bruce then appoint a manager that plays the style we want as a club so even if we fail this year we can build on the next 4 months. Dean Smith is this type but there is others. Sign a. CM that makes us play at a tempo and all of a sudden we will look loads better. Instill in to this group the style we want and if it doesn’t suit then get rid. Use our youth players. I still think we’ll get into the playoffs even if Bruce stays but can’t see us going up through them.

It’s been over 12 months and we still haven’t got a style of play. I hope Wyness and Round are doing due diligence.

You willing always get fans like that’s but I think us fans get a hard time even though we are very patient IMO. Only RDM was a quick sacking and probably too early but the lure of promotion clouded our minds. and we ended up with Bruce

We do lack out and out pace but the thing we lack more than anything is pace to our game. Desire from midfielders and defenders to get forward that’s why we look so slow. Our movement off the ball is awful. V Burton we’d looked lightening because we passed the balloon and moved to get it back and score down some cracking goals. We can do it but it seems we are drilled not to. Told to keep in shape don’t over commit. Look at how many times Millwall broke in numbers against us. How Brentford ripped us apart. These aren’t pacey teams. We’ve got the players to be playing a lot better football.

If he needs Sky to highlights his problems that’s a massive issue in its self!!

If we had a manager that got us passing the ball then Hogan and even Mccormack may find the form that got us to buy them.

Bruce will have to work some magic in the January window to give us a chance of going up.

Why? Injured players don’t have to attend games yet Terry has been to most of ours. He’s shown enough to prove he wants to be a success here so what’s the big deal?

If Bruce gets Agnew that’ll be 3 experienced coaches who are basically assistants. No wonder we never get any new ideas. Too many cooks spring to mind.

Did you see how bad we were at Reading? Cardiff are an up and at them team it’s hard to play high tempo every game but to come back says a lot about them. They’ve got an easy run over Xmas if they get through it well I can’t s see us catching them.

Bruce’s has only wasted about £15m for me Hogan Thor and Elmo. All pointless signings

This time last year we was on virtually every game over Xmas when we were losing. I think it’s the fact our games aren’t that good to watch and they learnt their lesson more than them wanting to show us lose.

I was pointing out we don’t create a lot of chances. We play better with a 6ft4 CF than we do with a 5ft9 one and it’s nothing too do with style? You seem very protective over Bruce and any of his decisions. Signing Hogan to play in a 2 as he said at the time and not giving a Davis hogan partnership a go is baffling. Our style doesn’t suit Hogan being the lone striker I feel you can’t see that i give. up.

I think we all understand the need for us to get up this year and that’s what justified the Bruce appointment. I didn’t want him but from afar he looked like a good appointment but he still let me down massively in how he has us play. I’ve reconciled myself that the football won’t be pretty but if the results then start to falter he isn’t under pressure. Dropping points has made the next 5 games crucial.

How many goals have our strikers scored? We have a problem creating chances. Hogan won’t get a chance unless we change our style he isn’t strong enough to be a target man. I’d love to see him alongside Davis but can’t see Bruce going with a proper 2 up top again either. We need to get a goal scoring centre forward no matter who it is.
