Pretty much this, though i'd be happy with Lescott and 1 other. Experience in our back four is key, though would like to pick up a reliable goalscorer.

Traore, Gil, and Grealish working off Gestede, with Veretout and Gana supporting. Not sure they'd all fit or play at once but it makes me kinda excited.......

What i was impressed by - and i admit it was only the first few minutes, was his hold up play. There were 3-4 times where he won the ball, flicked on, got fouled, or simply cushioned, controlled and secured the ball for us when under pressure.

Ground out a result, looked reasonably solid, rudy's goal was great. Creativity really lacking in the first half, but think that will change as/when grealish or gil come back in.

Those first 3 games last season, Senderos and Vlaar were pretty amazing. Surprised everyone.

Lescott for a few M and keep clark would be the overwhelming preference. At least then we have a semi decent experience CB to rotate/cover.

Bolassie as a target makes me happy. Can't see it as likely, but that guy is quality.

Sad to see him go, deserved to go to a better club. That said I wish him the best, quality player, pleasure to watch in a villa shirt. Irony is my fav tekkers goal is the one vs Liverpool, 2 seasons ago running at their back 4 and scaring the crap out of Skrtel.

It's not a bad shout, I reckon Sherwood is more likely to inspire a performance out of Mario than Rodgers is. The deal would need to have as little risk attached to it as possible, though. Same with Adebayor. Would take a punt of balotelli on loan (part wage payment or similar) - have that same niggling feeling that sherwood could get the best out of him. Would prefer this over any Adebayor.

Ideal world would be proven premier league and up and coming European player. Remy would be my premier league pick (even on loan). Don't know much about Embolo and others but would invest in one for future alongside Remy and kozak etc

Despite being resigned to the likely apparant outcome (Liverpool), i still hold hope out that Benteke will have a Delph-like flash of inspiration, and while the likelihood if him staying is low, i now genuinely want him to move to utd, as opposed to plop. Do it Chris. At least go somewhere you are needed, play in big games and probably win medals.

Wish him nothing but the best, if this happens. Only sad point for me is that due to impatience (?) he has sold himself a little short. He is destined for a better club than Liverpool, and in the long term expect him to move again from there. Either way, best of luck Chris! Excited to see who we can bring in for a new phase.

No idea , but.. German and from arsenal. I trust he knows what he's doing! Also likely this appointment a result of failed takeover and change of direction, or stuff happening in the background?

Really excited by this potential signing. Guy looks quality, hope he adapts quickly if this comes off. Seemed to spend an age deciding to proceed. Wonder what made him change his mind / assurances he recieved?
