  1. **** hoof ball, jesus we took off our only player who would hold it up and bent is put on, with no service it is another player down. clueless, just **** clueless and then they score **** hell lambo you can be a prick
  2. im happy with the score line but as mentioned it is the same sort of performace we put in ( or didnt) against southampton, 1-0 at half time without deserving it. the positioning of our midfield is making it impossible for the defenders to do anything other than hoof it, or step out with the ball you only need 1 midfielder to drop for the ball and then with a bit of movement he can either play it to another midfielder or the defender can then move onwards, like decent teams do instead out players are almost static our goal came from width, one of only 2 times the ball has been delivered into the box from wide and the ball kept down. no suprises really, most of the fans having been saying we need balls into the box from out wide for quite some time lets also stop with floating the ball into the box, even when benteke wins it, he cant do anything with it as there is no momentum from the ball while bennett has looks shakey, without proper movement and support he will play every ball the same, high down the line for gabby , something the oponents will be 100% aware of maybe if he tried to switch it long ball to the oposite side of the pitch it would create some indecision from their defenders as alby always seems to be in space but then again you have to rely on him to actually control the ball and then deliver it into the box rather than try every time to beat his man on the outside when there is no need to.
  3. jesus christ, we cant control the bloody ball, not even the basics so far utter crap
  4. that could be said for the whole team if you had a keeper and he didnt have a save to make the whole game would you say he is shit and drop him?
  5. so you dont think it is bad so far then? in which case you think it is good? really???
  6. gabby is playing.. hasnt scored in the last 26 premier league games ? would have though he would be better coming off the bench .. or benteke for that matter never mind, less piss off our only good player to the point that he will with the help of his agent, get a move.
  7. no nzogbia can only be a good thing the way he has been so far this last 2 seasons
  8. if we have to play holman, why dont we make use of his most gifted asset which is a none stop engine, put him between defence and midfield and let a wide player do the job properly leaving out bent? well i can only imagine todays master stroke will involve plenty of hoof ball ... again i think its time he sat down individually with each player and asked them where THEY think they can play best and what they are best at because at the moment it appears lambo hasnt much of a clue about the strengths our squad does have to what HE thinks they have we played 1 game without bent against man city and lambo it appears seems to think that that 1 game holds the key to his best team?
  9. he needs to start looking at the strengths and weaknesses this team has and play to them we have one of the best forwards in the game but he gets no service our midfield lacks fight and is continually over ran and has no width cant really do much in regards to defence as we have had lots of injuries so why don we change the obvious problem which is clearly the midfield into a formation which works? either have 2 defensive midfielders in the middle and 2 wide men and a ball player sat behind them and infront of the defence so there is a link between defence and midfield rather than hoof ball or have 3 defensive midfielders across the middle and expect the full backs to provide the width this formation we have of 2 up front with no service has to change
  10. so gabbys great play was running after a ball, not touching it, just running after it to see it out for a goal kick? gabby runs and wins a corner and he crosses the ball once? thats awesome and great i wish all our forwards would be so involved in the game that there 2 distinctly average things at best and a cross forgive me for missing such important and standout moments of the game i watched how many shots did he have? how may times did he beat his man? you know, things a forward is meant to be doing? and guzan? you think all keepers stand motionless when the ball is in the box and dont move until the ball is hit? come on, no one is THAT ridiculous
  11. i would rather have a player who concentrates on what he can do, such as being in and around the box getting into positions to score and more often than not, scoring than someone who runs around like a headless chicken wasting all his energy on doing little to nothing but apparently 'working hard' . its very school playground to think that you are a good player if you run lots and lots and seem to try more, being a good player isnt about seeing how many times you can run up and down a pitch. i dont recall lineker racing around holding the ball up tackling, or ian rush , infact most of the top goal scorers are allowed to play THEIR game and the attacks are based around those players skills and attributes bent cost £18 million for a reason, he is one of the best finishers in the english top division, mat letis didnt play for any big team, was he shit? steve bull banged the goals in at all levels, was he shit? he must have been as he only played for 'small' clubs. why dont we bring back djemba x2? after all he played for utd so he must be good? if people dont like bent fine, but please stop with the bull shit that he is not a good footballer or a top finisher
  12. most kicking takes place with tees now rather than slamming the heel of the boot into the ground and twisting to place the ball. so really it is only the scrums which may cause extra wear to the pitch, i cant imagine the tackling and running would be any worse and the diving? well bale will be coming to villa park later this season so it will see lots of action there. as mentioned though, it may bring flash backs of the ginger gibbon and his prefered tactics the plus sides will be rugby fans coming to a football ground which they might not previously have done and enjoying the facilities and then wanting to know more about the club, media interest, the club being shown all around the world providing extra revenue from advertising at the event and possibly after the event hopefully we would host games better than holland v iceland, we need a NZ or Aussie or South Africa game, we wont be getting an England game, because they will always be in London as we all know, London IS England and everywhere else is a stop off on your way to England... i mean London
  13. maybe if he kept things simple like looking up and making simple passes to his team mates, or crossing the ball into the box would give him confidence? because he will never get any confidence if all he does is run into people all the time i would be feeling quite confident on £40k per week and even if i were having a poor game i would stick to the basics and then try again the following game, he doesnt, he is about our most consistant player, consistantly shit.
  14. if you would care to share anything he did from around the 52rd minute onwards whcih constitues good play then im all ears, as i said it is from around that time that i started watching the game. if he didnt then you cant have been reading my post very carefully. maybe looking at some of the match again may refresh peoples memories including guzan being motionless, he didnt need to dive, he just needed to move his right arm for the first goal http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2012/10/07/tottenham-vs-aston-villa-2-0-highlights-2012-lennon-caulker-goals-video/ and oddly from around the 52nd minute onwards i dont see 1 villa attack, yep, not one so where you think i should see gabby playing from i really dont know
  15. has looked terrible in 95% of the games he has been allowed to get involved in has that magical gift which cant be taught, to collect the ball and blindly bumble into the largest amount of opponents he can find and just before he collides into the group of static players, he gently passes them the ball i like the look on his face the 5 to 10 times per game he does it, a look of confusion at why the ball seems to be making its way to other end of the pitch. i think he needs to get his eyes tested, maybe he just cant see the hords of players he goes walking into ?
  16. i guess you didnt actually READ my post? i will make it a little easier for you I ONLY SAW MOST OF THE SECOND HALF so saying you dont thin i saw the game is a bit of a stupid statement really. guzan was stood rooted to the spot for both goals, 1 was a deflection but he still didnt move i guess you also dont bother reading any of the player interviews, like the one where bennet claims his biggest strength is going forwards and attacking? thought not. i also can only comment on what i saw, which didnt include benteke missing some chances or holman doing anything or gabby doing anything, which is why i said it. there is not much point looking great for 45 minutes and it still being 0-0 but then turning to shit in the second half and losing comfortably kea the best midfielder for us on the day? as i say i only saw the last 40 minutes of the game and he was shit, continually giving the ball away, mind you, he may have been the best of the midfield because i didnt see anything from any of the others at all, at least he got the ball to give it away i lie.. i saw nzog get the ball 4 or 5 times on one side of the pitch walk up to a crowd of spurz players on the other side of th pitch, gently nudge the ball to them and then stand still with his hands on his hips while they then moved forwards with the ball freshly given to them.
  17. we were shit, i only saw the second half but from what i saw guzan made a couple good saves but was no where near either of their shots for the goals bennet didnt do anything coming forwards vlaar did ok clarke was wasteful with the ball and drifted holman didnt do anything gabby? im guessing he played? seriously i dont know if he did, if he did he was never mentioned and did litereally **** all so maybe he didnt play? i saw benteke was playing although he won not 1 header and did nothing delph, did little before being taken off keo did nothing gave the ball away each time he had it disapointing albrighton didnt see him as i tuned in about 5 minutes before he was taken off, he never touched the ball dont know who else was supposed to be on the pitch, they did **** all apart from give the ball away and leave great big open spaces for spurz to literally just walk through subs bent didnt touch the ball - should have started nzogbia each and every **** time this idiot gets the ball he homes in on the largest crowd of opposition players and then just walks up to them gives them the ball and then stands there like a twunt banan did nothing of note apart from his normal hollywood 90 yard air passes to the sidelines i only saw second half but it was the exact same weak pss poor standrd i saw against southampton it is not good enough, put 5 in the middle until we have a decent strong midfield because we are getting walked through every week if our forwards were scoring then the 2 up front would work better as the opponents would be holding back to stop it, we arent and dont look like scoring so they dont need to worry about the 2nd forward sort it out lambo
  18. needs dropping full stop. weiman and bent should be ahead of him at the moment our game has gone back to hoof ball since he came and we have looked shit in each game bar the man city game which i only saw the crap tv highlights of.
  19. benteke seems to be mirroring heskey scores in his first game but then is shit our midfield is piss weak, either play 5 across the middle and bent up front on his own / gabby up front on his own or if 4-4-2 then we need 4 solid midfielders because we couldnt string a pass together in that second half, couldnt win a header, were 3rd to each loose ball and piss orr generally we make average tems look great due to our midfield being as strong as a wet fart
  20. we are shit, cant even win a header this second half. no excuses for continued hoof ball benteke needs to be not used for the next game as it seems they think by hoofing it to him is a plan, it is, a plan for losing and playing shit.
  21. i also thought it was the only way to get rid of the orange haired spunk monkey but luckily randy managed to sort his head out
  22. Didn't exactly do Newcastle any harm. In my post I said I no longer see it that way, I thought it might have taken that to get rid of McLeish and a few players like Hutton, Collins etc, but Lerners cashed out before he lost it all with McLeish. The thing is, if you work on previous history, it would more than likely be a disaster for us. Newcastle survived and it was a good thing for them, but they are the only club to do that really. We could easily go the way of Leeds, Southampton etc... I think it's more likely we'd fall apart then do a Newcastle. I wouldn't want to take that risk. A lot of those clubs as well would have had great financial troubles, not many would have been backed by a multi million pound owner. The way I saw it if McLeish relegated us, he would have left, along with Dunne, Warnock, Bent, Collins, Hutton, Heskey, Cuellar, & Ireland, leaving us with the perfect platform to re-build from. However, now that Lambert is in I dont think we will have to worry about it. heskey and cuellar would have gone anyway, their contracts ran out people like dunne would have stayed, he is towards the end of his career and wont have got another pay pack like the one at villa hutton would want to stay, again he knows he wouldnt get more elsewhere and also probably knows no premier league club would want him anyway i could only see bent and ireland wanting out and they have been 2 of our most important players relegation would be a disaster and financially we would have been ****, players staying due to massive contracts, no revenue to pay them, less advertisement, crap shirt deal ( oh wait....) as it stands we have loaned out warnock, sold collins, heskey and cuellar have not had new contracts there seems only really hutton now the manager doesnt want in the squad, if we can **** him off in january for free im sure the club would be happy. Lambo has started well in terms of off field activities and also squad wise, on the pitch it is a work in progress which will see us have good days and woeful days we wont go down though, we will finish 10th or there abouts
  23. probably get a game tonight which again is a bit unfair to judge the fringe players when they will be up against the league champions.
