clever players are the ones who last, he should be fine as he has enough footballing brain to do something different or find the space. one dimensional players like gabby are the ones who get found out, he has pace, thats pretty much it. while effective on occasions, it cant be relied upon for prolonged periods of time. the clever forwards always manage to get a decent amount of goals each season. if benteke had just shown pace or won headers then there would be more expectation for the bubble to burst but this lad to be fair to him has shown clever hold up play, semi decent control, power, pace and if you watch him , each game he does a little bit of tekkers, sometimes it is more noticable, like the back heel for the goal but he does something like that every game. shows he also has the confidence in his own skills fingers crossed his form continues for his entire time at villa

while he left like a rat, he was easily liverpoos best player against villa. and also he isnt so bad liverpool changed his position, enrique was injured so downing ( not for the first time in his career) played attacking left back, for that game. downing is far more consistant than albrighton or nzogbia, and as such would be an improvement on what we have, he would also no doubt have a decent amount of assists with the forwards we have. a pay cut and given back to us for no money would be a no brainer in my view depending on how much we are still owed.

i can understand what your saying, at the moment we are lucky that our 2 young strikers are showing what they can do, playing them together each game should be the first choice and if we had a fully fit bent and gabby then both should be on the bench as they offer completely different things, gabby the pace towaards the end of a game to stretch the defence and bent the movement and killer instinct. the 2 young lads playing all the games however is unlikely due to burn out/ injury/ suspension so we need to make sure there is another clever forward to take the place of one of the others. we are fortunate to have such a good and varied attacking line up, while gabby is thick as shit and 1 goal in 34? in the league, bent not playing the same style as weiman or benteke, both still offer more than enough to scare the shit out of most premier league opponents. ideally we should keep all 4 together at the very least till the end of this season and then re access our forward options

i would hardly say that, but we have had 1 or 2 moments of great football including for me the goal of the season so far, not just for the flick but the build up, the link up play and the direct foward movement there are far more impactive goals, smashing them in from 40 yards and so on but this was 1 moment of pure football magic
