People seem to make a big deal out of Mellberg at RB, but in my eyes if we had bought a foreigner in who performed the same, grabbing a few goals and defending solidly, then people would've been jizzing themselves.

Ulises De La Cruz, Aaron Hughes, Phil Bardsley are right back in the last few years alone that were far, far worse than Beye. He does tuck in far too much for my liking but that statement is rubbish imo!

Went to the game tonight and thought we played really well tbh. Passed the ball nicely and had good movement. Not to mention Milner and Ashley having great games. Just a few things I noticed throughout the game; We have no 'gatherer', either in defensive situations or attacking. We don't have a play who picks up the knock downs from Carew or the opposition when a ball is kicked up, and we don't have a player who picks the ball from Cuellar and Davies when they win a header at the back. Beye tucks inside too much, often leaving his winger with time to bring the ball down and face him up. Shorey NEVER wins the ball unless it's an interception. Delph is going to be some player. Petrov really isn't fit enough to last a whole game. Vienna's chances only started occurring towards the end of the game when he couldn't get near their midfielders. THE REF WAS WANK. Absolutely awful. Wouldn't be surprised if he had actually taken money on his performance tonight. Too many blatantly wrong calls and decisions that were ridiculously inconsistent between the two teams.

0-2 at Anfield. Beye and Coker having absolute stormers. Shorey actually not getting pooned every 3 minutes. This is a good game! Still got a feeling if Liverpool bag they'll go on to win. This will be 0-2 or we'll lose.

How there's so much negativity about I'll never now. We've actually looked quite tight (bar the first 30 secs) and seem to be playing well. The team selection is paying off so far, I've got a feeling the confidence might start to flow a bot more now too. Anybody see the goal? My stream cut out just before you lot went crazy!

I reckon it'll probably be a hammering in terms of possession and performance, but we'll only lose by one or maybe two goals. If we concede early on like last year with some shocking defending we may get slaughtered, but if we can stay solid looking it may not turn out so bad. Teams far worse than us have gone to Anfield in the past and got a result by terrorising the Liverpool players and giving them no time whatsoever. We need exactly this attitude tonight. Midfielders to run themselves into the ground chasing Plop down, then more subs on to continue doing the same. But we don't use subs so that may be hard.

I wouldn't say people are deluded if they came away happy from a game in which we'd just beaten Fiorentina, or anyone for that matter! Christ, we might have a few areas that need adjust granted, but there's no need for that statement!

Awesome tonight. Very pleased with this result. Just got a couple of observations really. Lichaj needs a lot more development but is doing OK. Albrighton doesn't get involved all that much but when he does it's usually a stonking ball into the box. Reo-Coker and Sidwell actually works quite well in midfield. Both of them looking a bit more at home when they are playing now. Nice footwork by Sidders for his goal and never a penalty on Nige. Clark looked good. like somebody said, I didn't really notice he was there whihc can only be good. Heskey looked good after he scored, definitely a confidence player. Then got sent off to bring it back down to Earth again! Side note; Where do people get the streams with American commentary from? I use http://p2p4u.net/ to get golTV but all I can find are links to crazy Spanish/Mexican shouters. It's ridiculous compared to what should be said, but I love American commentary My favourite being a clip when JPA scored for New York; "The take. The spin. The fire. Upper 90. Goal." Love it!

Some good performances tonight so far. Reo-Coker looking strong again in his natural position. Sidwell getting involved more as well. Albrighton is doing some business down the right. Guzan is looking solid. You'd be disappointed if he let in the shots he saved, but it's nice to know he doesn't let them past a la Carson! And the biggest plus of the night.... Cuellar looking like he's turning into a defensive monster. All good stuff. And in all honesty, the others may not have played at their best, but there's no way they've been as bad as some have made out.

I normally take rave reviews about youngsters with a pinch of salt, but that finish from Albrighton was very, very good. Easy to miss and he took it well whilst at speed. Very impressed with that.

I really liked Sidwell's goal from that bunch. Nice to see a centre mid attacking the box and having a first time shot. Good through ball as well from Osbourne (I think, haven't had chance to check if he played)

I think it would be highly beneficial for a win today. And a clean sheet would be fantastic. Might just start to build up a bit of a winning mentality again.

How are we slagging Everton off? Surely it's a compliment to them that we're all looking over our slightly worried shoulders? Personally, I think what Everton have done this year with their injuries etc has been amazing, and like AG said, their only loss in the last 18 games has been at Old Trafford. That's pretty good to say the least. I just find it annoying! All they have to do is lose a few times, maybe conceed a few and then all will be happy. PS. What if AG looks like Fellaini or ...gasp...Joleon!?!

What's that now? One loss in 17?! That's **** awesome. Why can't they just bugger off and leave us to finish comfortably this year. I don't like how they never lose.
