  1. The Belgian National team has improved ridiculous amounts too
  2. Not necessarily considering Lamela is a winger and Soldado hasn't lived up to his reputation.
  3. Laughing at everyone who doubted Benteke's class right now.
  4. Benteke NEEDS to perform tomorrow. 3 points is vital now.
  5. I agree with you about the injuries hindering his form, but I feel you are using the tactics/way we play as an excuse - you see how easy it is to make an excuse when you want to try and see the best in someone/something, you are very quick to point out that any defence of RL or PL is an excuse. #justsaying Personally, I'm really disappointed with Benteke since Xmas. I'm willing to excuse the games that he has played when only semi-fit, but he has been playing well below the level that he set for himself last term. If he wasn't getting chances then I could understand, but he looks like he can't be arsed half the time. How is any striker meant to succeed playing that way? I agree. Benteke would do better with better players around him and Kozak did brilliantly to get 4 goals in his limited appearances because our playing style is awful. If you can call it 'style' in the first place
  6. Shame isn't it? He'd be a beast at Arsenal. He's drained. Probably bored of jumping to head a ball and jogging every now and again. LIke a **** performing seal.
  7. Lambert doesn't seem to be able to inspire his players. His tactics are getting predictable and he keeps sticking to them despite when they fail. Ive supported lambert so many times but I'm doubting him now. I know our team can play well but they're so inconsistent - well either that or just utter shit. Were toothless. Utterly toothless.
  8. Deserved a point at least. Don't get the substitutes. Should have got albrighton on. As always our cutting edge was rather blunt. Lacked creativity but defended really well and in midfield. Really **** annoying goal.
  9. Plodding along - probably the best I've season this season described. Like a wounded…. something or other. Completely disagree with some people saying 'lack of ambition'.
  10. The problem for me personally isn't Benteke. Its the lack of creative play. If he was fed he'd score. Made a few nice passes today, especially the back heel which Gabby should have finished, and got a few headers which were unfortunately blocked.
  11. Find it strange how people can completely discredit the good performance of the opposition team and just say Benteke is shit, he didn't do anything, blah blah blah. He OBVIOUSLY didn't fluke his performance last season. That just doesn't happen. You can't fluke a whole season its ridiculous. Either the talent is there or its not.
  12. He's one man in 11. Give the guy a break. Bet you weren't saying that last week! You're only as good as your team - as the saying goes.
  13. Agreed - awful stuff. Russia needs to catch up. They also captured 2 killer whales to put 'on display' at the games - and the event itself will only keep the rich rich and the poor poor over there.
  14. ... and yet, we only conceded after he went off. Con? No, just stating the facts. Against Everton and Baggies, while he was on the pitch, we were winning. Think that's more of a coincidence than anything else. Vlaar came off, and Everton were piling on pressure. It's hard to stay solid for 90 minutes.
  15. Didn't agree starting Holte today considering the defensive formation and tactics. He didn't offer much. Shame about Vlaar coming off. I agreed with lambert's post match interview - can't do much about a quality free kick - Everton are a better team but we played really well tactically against them. Unlucky!
  16. Loans can become permanent. We all knew REALLY how this was gunna play out.
  17. i reckon that as well, don't open your wallet if it aint worth it.
  18. The only reason people are talking about him is because he's relatively cheap on Football Manager and fits in really will with our team at the start of the game. Perfect sign him up. That's how it works right?
  19. That wouldn't hurt either if we got another decent player instead and left him to radiate negativity.
  20. That's what i thought. Did well and putting him on meant he could lay off to benteke instead of vice versa. Thought it slowed the game down though i was hoping Albrighton would come on to keep the pace up.
  21. If Vlaar stays fit I think we'll finish comfortably mid-table, with or without an on-form Benteke. Our record with him in the side is pretty decent. Gotta agree with this! People are getting worried about the tough run of fixtures and will inevitably slate the team and lambert for losses that are expected to come but then we play the teams that we should/have to be beating and that should take us back up the table!
  22. 4 strikers: 1 was a brilliant signing; 1 was decent but has a broken leg; 1 cost nothing and is being introduced slowly; The other one cost less than nothing. 2 lb's: Both young and cheap: Hello? Financial constraints! Why not consider the facts a bit better before allowing your agenda to write your posts for you? A really good post The lack of funds is making some lose perspective - In the past players like Bowery would have come and gone without barely a mention. Bowery, Helenius, Luna and Bennett were all signed for about the same cost as Warnock but unlike Warnock we will get our money back and more. Players have been bought in to do a job - steadying the ship and retaining our premier league status. From next season I expect two or three 'Bertrand-level' permanent signings each window. Patience No one thinks he's had it easy and no one expects him to be perfect in the transfer market. But at the same time you can't just dismiss poor transfers and excuse it. Kind of a win win for Lambert in your eyes. Picks up a bargain, he's great in the transfer market. Signs a dud, no problem he hasn't got much money. Hardly seems a balanced view. And all these cheap mistakes start adding up to one expensive one. We're a professional sports club yet we class our failures not costing much as some sort of success while we perform terribly on the pitch. This is very true. Gotta say though he has a team around him full of scouts, couches etc etc he can't scout and train all by himself! Although he has people under him following his 'philosophy' he still entrusts other people to do things for him and take their own jobs in their hands. Not making excuses for him I'm just saying.
  23. This is slightly off topic but i've never understood why people argue on here… We all support the same team week in week out. Have an opinion not an ego. No one cares about your petty arguments. At least make it constructive. Stressful times i get it but you aint helping yourself! Anyways, what would people think to Nacer Chadli? Spurs have an overcrowded midfield, he's belgian and hardly played this season. Did pretty well at FC Twente before spurs signed him.
