  1. Would it be too much to suggest that we just block his move if we dont find replacement before pre season? I mean if he tries to have a paddy or start a strike then noone is going to sign him. He has to perform, and will want n international spot too....
  2. No chance of any of this happening. The players above will not leave for cheap. big money, big talent.
  3. Well its either a tap up or the contract negotiations have gone really badly! His agent sounds like a right shit!! His agent is trying to secure the best deal for himself & his client. Sadly that is the harsh reality of modern day football. Likewise we have to get the best deal for AVFC. Yeah he is, but its to the detriment of the players reputation. Not that it matters these days I suppose. Hopefully we can get it sorted asap and Lambo can get spending again. COuld be a blessing in disguise, Idlike to see what lambert can do with big(ger) money signings, I like your thinking! interesting prospect.
  4. he will leave on our terms as lambert has already said. if he stays and has a paddy or refuses to play then he wont get his move next season. i have no doubt lambert has told benteke the plan; we were only 5 points off 9th and 8 points off 8th place, thats a small margin that can be closed by new young players being brought in that can be developed into strong talents such as himself, bigger wage package, higher quality squad surrounding him that will help him improve further. He knows the deal, he knows we shone the light on him and if he's not interested let him go.
  5. Christ £5-6mil?! Where'd you see that? Id stay well clear haha, ive seen that boy plenty of times with crewe and hes not as good as westwood.
  6. wasnt he one of the top scorers in Ligue 1 this year and last year? £8 mil is a bargain if you reckon that much. plays as a winger too, lots of pace
  7. wasnt he one of the top scorers in Ligue 1 this year and last year? £8 mil is a bargain if you reckon that much.
  8. for the past 2 - 3 years i have been watching crewe it was all about westwood when the pair where together, altough Murphy is a fantastic player too
  9. Luke Murphy has said hes ready for a higher level of professional football whilst at Crewe this season, i dont see why he'd join Wolves when he wants to go higher
  10. Just in case anyone is interested, sky sports have recently reported on Belhanda again (yesterday i think?). Same old news though, take that as you will! Kiyotake is a good thought. I wish Lambert wasnt such a tease, its like christmas as a kid, except your parents making you play hide and seek with the presents.
  11. What makes you say it isnt a lambert signing? belhanda is young, hungry, and has champions league experience. Out of the clubs he has manged id say Villa has the biggest budget (spending money and wages), and also the most valuable players. This could easily be a factor towards what kind of player he signs when regarding expense, age, ability, status (well known or not) etc. lets not forget that lerner and oniell signed darren bent for twice the money montpellier are asking for belhanda. I know Lambert said not to expect signings over 10 million but if that money has come from players that have been sold then technically you havent spent anything, youve just fund raised so to speak. On the other hand the clubs above us (especily arsenal and spurs who have already been linked) have a lot more spending power and are obviously a threat to this signing, and will most likely draw lot more interest from players than us. Also, lambert is starting from scratch and sticking to the philosophy of bringing in using young players with room to grow and develop that he has scouted from under the radar - we all know he is a fan of dortmund who adopted this approach in their rise from relegation. in conclusion, regardless as to whether belhanda is signed or not i think lambert will spend most on a CAM which is badly needed. Unfortunately the media, clubs and agents have gone quiet and Lambert seems determined to keep everything secret. To be honest i dont think were going to get anything but rumours and speculation until we offload the big earners. Maybe around august things will become clear. Lambert will surely tell us when the last signing has been made. in bold that is why. He is also quoted as saying he felt uncomfortable spending as much as 7mil on Benteke so to expect him to easily go into double-figures on a player is not realistic Also, Houllier signed Bent, and whether the funds for a signing have been raised or given is irrelevant, a 10mil signing is a 10mil signing. "bought him for 10mil but sold Bent and Ireland so technically it was free" makes no sense Ah yes sorry, was just thinking about oniell at the time. No i agree with you, and now is definitely the time to be realistic. And what i meant by that was along the lines of; spending money you dont have - or havent made. I was trying to say its almost like a trade. Youre the same as where you started if you sell a player and buy another... making sense? Also i was just giving perspective, my personal opinion is that lambert wont sign anyone over 10 mil full stop, but will spend most on a CAM

  13. I don't know why you've given up. Nothing's changed yet. He hasn't signed for anyone else afaik. Not saying we'll be chasing this guy specifically, but he's probably one of our potential targets, and when we've shifted Bent and/or Ireland (or, heaven forbid, Benteke), I'm sure things will change pretty quickly. if we've heard of the player and our interest is widely reported before anything concrete happens, then it tends to fizzle out and this is what is currently happening. i cannot forsee any player being signed for 10+mil this transfer window, especially one with less than a year on their contract. it isn't a lambert signing, it isn't a lerner signing and it isn't a villa signing What makes you say it isnt a lambert signing? belhanda is young, hungry, and has champions league experience. 14. I should hope not! Lambert will have some extra cash after offloading Bent and maybe Bannan, Delfounso, ireland which hopefully he will put towards a strong midfielder who we dont have to google to find out about. the reports on Belhanda have been quiet of late, he's fantastic player who is young and very talented (although with a big price tag). and might not be too far out of our reach if were the only PL club to be interested (despite villa saying they havent made a bid), according to himself and Montpelliers manager. maybe im being too optimistic but if lambert has a secret signing... maybe just maybe hes being patient. Nobody said it would be the last. It was just Kendrick being out of the loop, again. Media stuff... Chill. I am chilled! Just discussing!
  15. this all depends on how bad he wants first team football, whether he's that fussed about the CL and how atrractive the Prem really is. If he wants to develop in the PL and ensure first team footbll then we have a chance, what with the clubs around us spending big on players that are ALREADY developed. Otherwise we can wave this one goodbye.
  16. Theres only ooooone He-lanius, Theres only ooooone He-lanius. He's six foot five, He'll eat you alive, Walking in a Danish wonderlaaaaand.

  18. Hi, im 19 year old villa fan currently living in Manchester. I've been supporting the Villa since i was 4 years old (my dad bought me the cheapest football shirt in the shop) but unfortunately my parents work has drawn me further away from Birmingham. I still go to as many games as possible and always sit in the upper Holte. When im not at the game you can guarantee im watching on TV. I also watch my local team Crewe play football regularly and have a love for all football. Looking forward to getting involved! Tom.
