  1. Smith seems quite fired up on our boys' behalf, certainly up for a fight. Covid or not, one factor is not to be underestimated: our team has gotten much needed rest and will be raring to go. Not going to predict anything as we come up against a Citeh side really getting into the groove, but I do expect us to deliver a spirited and vital performance. Strangely looking forward to this!
  2. From the highlights, Sanson looks like a human guided missile, he just conquers the ball and blasts off straight towards the opposition's goal, no matter where he is and the number of hindrances directly ahead. Our own terminator, I like the sound of that.
  3. Looking at the highlights, this one is destined to be a crowd pleaser. Allons-y!
  4. I trust the leaders of the club to make the right call, but the longer time goes until we see him play for us again, the more I'm okay with us not shelling out for him on a permanent transfer. That said, I really hope he gets a good run for us, both for his own and our sake.
  5. I really like Hourihane, which is why I'm very pro his leaving now. He deserves to play football, not rot on a bench. Us getting in a younger, better and more exciting "replacement" means it's very much a win-win.
  6. Disregarding the practical problems and challenges regarding fitness and potential injuries, it is quite fun to have quite a few matches in hand. If we continue to do as well as we have, we'll just sail past a bunch of teams while they can only sit still watching us overtake them. Rowr.
  7. Many games in a short time will (hopefully) be entertaining for the fans, but I kind of hope we buy one or two good ones now, to have ready when injuries inevitably crop up.
  8. Ys, you dirty, dirty man. You oughta have your meat curtains spanked with a medium size salmon fillet.
  9. Squeezed 4 votes out of my job set up. 29 %!
  10. Hahaha, I spent quite a while studying the figure, going through the names, before actually spotting Jack.:-D
  11. Good and interesting point. It could also explain why darker skinned people seem to get disproportionally sicker from Covid19 infections (other circumstances counted for), as dark skin "protects" better from the body's own vitamin D production due to sun exposure.
  12. We should smoke him one, in case he's back for breakfast.
  13. Luckily for us holding on to Jack makes perfect business sense in all kinds of ways. The most obvious one is probably that he's not done at all with having his value sky rocket.
  14. That turn was great on so many levels. Just the outrageous audacity to even do something like that, inside your own box, against a pretty close to world class player, with what must have been quite tired legs. You must have confidence, technique and stamina to get away with that, and young Young did it with a delicious bravado. But most important, it was the absolutely optimal way to solve that situation, as he completely freed himself from the opponent. It's really not often that the most spectacular move ALSO is the most efficient.
  15. I'd love to get him back in some capacity, some day.
  16. That is perhaps the greatest thing our kids will take away from this match. What an inspiration.
  17. Rather not. Bet he will come across as a....Doctor Who villain.
  18. Klopp just has the whitest teeth, doesn't he.
  19. I was goaded by my pool supporting cousin to put on the game. So happy I did. You can almost see these youngsters learning, adjusting and improving minute by minute. And that goal! So well taken, and just after Villa found the confidence to play passing football.
  20. Great. Just the start of the new year we needed after the less than stellar excuse of a year put behind us. Now all there is to hope for is that this is just a temporary crisis. We know that one of the scarier aspects of the various covid-19 branches is the long time after effects of an infection, especially on the brains and the lungs. To everyday people this won't necessarily matter too much, but for a top athlete having the lung capacity reduced by a couple of percent can be the difference between a Gardner and a Grealish. Fingers crossed that everything goes as well as possible.
