I saw some stats as VAR came int that said the refs (pre-VAR) got something like 97 or 98% of decisions right. I said early in that the shitness of VAR is just not worth it to chase after those rare mistakes. All the pauses in play, ruining moments of euphoria, still getting things wrong. Since then it has got worse too. Whilst it’s annoying when the on field officials get things wrong we do accept that they are human and it’s a very difficult situation. VAR getting things wrong, and all the downsides of it are not even close to being worth it. I also can’t see it ever going back now, it would forever be “VAR should have checked that” whenever something happens we don’t like. The powers that be NEED to find a way to make it work.

Where Max picked up the damaged floor in lap 20. Full safety car was 9 laps later. I’m a little bit more concerned that the Mclaren was not as quick as we thought and it was clouded by the Red Bull being slower than it should have been.

Max says that his car had floor damage / hole which might explain why it couldn’t compete with the Mclaren. Hopefully it’s just some sour grapes and the Mclaren genuinely is very quick.

It would be really good for the season if the Mclaren could regularly compete with Red Bull. Piastri also showed he had some amazing pace too.

One of the biggest hates of working in the main work office is listening to people eating their food at the desk. I have absolutely zero tolerance for it now. If it’s just lunch then no problem, I’ll go for a little walk, but the other day I was sat next to an all day grazer. I had to leave and go home.
