  1. Can't get too upset as it is just a friendly but a cause for some concern as we seem to once again be in a position where once you get past the first eleven the quality just isn't there. It's cost us places in the past but I worry just how much it might cost us if we don't hit the ground running this season. On the plus side this result has certainly helped in getting me prepared for the long season ahead :winkold:
  2. This! I think he'll be great for us this season and will silence a lot of critics! This is just wishful thinking, with all due respect. All the evidence so far suggests he will offer us very little. And what evidence would that be? I'm guessing it's the evidence of him actually playing for us Exactly! Nobody is "doubting" him, we know he's shite, it's there for all to see.
  3. Good promo, leave the title scene to cena and del rio as punk doesn't need it anyway. HHH vs Punk looks like it could take off even more than Punk vs Cena.
  4. Looks like the lulus are all off pawning their zimmer frames and baseball caps in the hope of getting their asses handed to them in either Turkey or the Balkans. Don't know what would be funnier; them disgracing themselves further and getting the shit kicked out of them, going into admin and getting thrown out of the comp before it starts or getting drawn against either Hearts or Stoke.
  5. I think the negativity towards Ireland is based on his entire career (apart from a couple of motd highlight reels) not just this game. He coasted on the reputation he gained from a couple of fluke games for City and I have yet to see him in a competitive game for Villa where we wouldn't have just been better off playing with 10 men.
  6. Can we just put this one to bed now. He's never coming good, he's not going to be recapturing the form he never actually had, city mugged us off with this oxygen thief and we fell for it... end of, deal with it. He's a poor man's Sasa Curcic and that's being generous.
  7. The result doesn't mean shit. Looking like a disjointed, lay-down and die mess does.
  8. I doubt if any are loyal like the fans are, unfortunately. If N'Zogbia turns out to be the success we all hope he will then in a couple of years time he may well do a Downing. By then he will be what seems to be the magic cut off point 27yrs to join one of the Sky scum. In the meantime though we will all hopefully be treated to some exciting play and great goals so I welcome his signing for Villa while looking forward to seeing how it all works out. Let's just hope when/if that day comes he doesn't refuse to play or sit on the bench and slag off the club like he did to the toon. Got no problem with players wanting to move on to pastures new or better things but there is a right way of doing it. Of course some fans will still slate a player regardless but he's got no excuse for the way he acted at Newcastle when he got word that Arsenal might be sniffing round.
  9. I'd call this more of an Ashley Young leaving situation. anyway. Buzzing about the signing, especially considering the rumours about Sunderland last minute bid and him signing monday, I expected him to sign 99% but the nervous couple days of 'you never know' situation is not there anymore and he's now a Villa player. great signing. Welcome Charles 'One look' N'Zogbia ..... I was referring more to the Newcastle cry baby episode he had a few years back, I suppose he has conducted himself better this time round (unless the whole strike thing was true, which personally I doubt). He's a good player but certainly not the world beater some people seem to be expecting.
  10. I find it funny so many of the people bitching about Downing being disloyal and inconsistent are falling over themselves for this signing... guess what!? :winkold:
  11. Swiss Death FTW European Uppercuts all round Very European
  12. They have thrown away months of good storyline by cramming it all into one night. Could have been so so much worse though, apparently the original idea was to have have Punk return, HHH beat the shit out of him and Del Rio cash in setting up HHH vs Punk and Del Rio vs Cena for Summerslam.
  13. Well accoring to his FB, Steve Rotherham is "retired" and lives in Pattaya Just had a good lurk on both their profiles... Me too... Just....no  **** me! It's like Andre The Giant got a gastric band.
  14. I'm a little worried the angle is going to get too heavy on the Mcmahon family power struggle and this will just be another invasion or Jericho title run. As it stands though it's going great, they have my interest for the first time in years and if anyone can pull it off it's Punk. For anyone coming back after not watching for a long while check out CM Punks stint as colour commentator on Raw and Smackdown, just search for the montages on youtube they are epic!
  15. It's the Ernest Saunders defence - I'm a weak old man with dementia, please go gently. I'm surprised he didn't turn up wearing a nightshirt and diving helmet. I think he's just exhausted from beating the shit out that desk!
  16. James is further cementing his position as one of the worst human beings on the face of the earth.
  17. To be fair the thread title is more than likely still relevant
  18. The more I think about it the more I don't really blame him for wanting to go.
  19. Jaguar Skills tomorrow night, woohoo. Oh and watching Capdown were among some of the best times I had in the punk tent at Reading Festival they always really got the crowd going, up there with Snuff and Dropkicks for that.
