  1. Don't wanna diss Brian little too much as in some peoples eye he is the epitome of Mr Villa ( before my time so can't fairly comment on that) but I do have concerns as to his suitability to be choosing our next manager based on the fact that his last 2 jobs were Gainsborough Trinity of the conference North & Jersey's director of football. Are people basing their faith in him on winning a trophy 20 years ago? Genuinely intrigued as to why so many think he will make the right choice
  2. Show me rock solid proof about those players that justifies this and I'll consider it. Social media hearsay does not count btw. Prove to me (other than their performances on the pitch) that these specific players deserve singling out for being rats
  3. Bentley sound alike a perfect choice, don't know too much about Johnstone. Interesting s outs report on Bentley http://www.teamtalk.com/news/the-scout-goalkeeper-bentley-bound-for-the-premier-league
  4. I see Gary Neville is now available, ain't gunna happen but at 80-1 I wouldn't be overly gutted (Also have Woy & Martinez at 80-1)
  5. Cause he has one of those funny sounding foreign names doesn't matter about his ability, if he hasn't got a plain ol British name like nige, Gary or Dave he can't be good enough for some of us in the great labyrinth which is the championship.
  6. I see after one bad appointment with a foreign manager they all get tainted with the same brush and none of them could possibly be as good or a success like the good ol Brits with experience. First time I had sex was awful but lucky for me I didn't let one bad experience put me off. I'm advocationg we go down the foreign route per se especially but to limit ourselves to only British managers with experience limits our selection pool in size drastically. I just want a progressive (young) coach who can grow with us and Instill within the club a clear ethos on how he wants the game to be played. (Like Poch at Spurs) Be it Monk, Moyes Karanka or Rebrov etc where he is from does not matter in my eyes.
  7. Yakin, Karanka, clement, or Monk in no particular order. Would accept Woy, Moyes or Rodgers but not my personal preferences.
  8. Erm no it shouldn't as it's a two way street. Players could turn around and say actually I want to leave here is my notice and the club wouldn't get a penny. Football would collapse in on it itself.
  9. Moyes isn't my personal preference at all by a long stretch but saying that, as people have pointed out he is exactly what we need right now and he is a name that should hopefully help galvanise our fractured fan base and rebuild our great club. I'll put my personal preference and opinons aside and be right behind him 100% to try & sort this mess out. But to say he knows the league is a fallacy in my opinion and I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the fact he managed PNE as that was like 12 years ago now. It has no bearing on his ability to perform in that league. I suppose he/the club wouldn't want his reign to start with being relegated, but why wait till the summer to appoint him (if he would come right away that is) He wouldn't be blamed one bit for it and would give him 7 games to form an opinion from the inside as to whom he considers worth keeping rather than wait until pre-season to assess.
  10. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-manager-candidate-david-7616888 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/655096/Exclusive-David-Moyes-tells-friends-Aston-Villa-job-Celtic-interest-Transfer-News-Gossip Who's next up on the journos dart board I wonder
  11. Not Gana? Even though his stats are equal to Kante but playing in sides with contrasting fortunes ? Also believe personally it would be too early to bin Veretout, plenty of players have struggled to make an impression in there first season then go on to become successful. ( Unless he is one of the bad eggs) keep him if he wants to stay and fight for the shirt. We can't keep ripping it up and starting again. A midfield of Gana Veretout Meireles(one can hope) traore grealish could be pretty effective.
  12. @ DCJonah Poor choice of words on my part.
  13. We've all gathered that ! Every thread if someone doesnt hold the same views as you, it's the same old shit different topic. People have tried to explain their thought processes in wanting to give him a proper shot which is fair enough. But you act like you views are always right and if anyone dares goes against your strong held views you either ridicule them for it or say the same thing over and over again but a slightly different way each time. My views, your views, all views are valid. They are there to be challenged sure but jeez Lighten up. we can all hold different view points on Remi, Villa, Lerner etc
  14. Maybe (I) have it wrong about it being the British old guard just being the ones having attitude problems in training. just speculating that maybe Okore fits into that bracket? For the life of me I can't understand why he doesn't start every game when fit.
  15. I'm sure he is itching to leave the Sun in Turkey to come and play for Nigel Pearson in grey old Brum oh and swop Champions league for the championship But all joking aside he would add needed quality to our midfield. Shame it's a year too late and can't see it happening.
  16. I've got to be careful what I say here ( don't want to lose my job) but I work for Oxford United FC and I sometimes have to deal with members from the youth development squad and i have have to say some of them for want of a better word are bellends. The arrogance some of them have is unbelievable. They walk round acting they are going to be the next best thing and are superior to people who aren't in their position. It's scary and on one or two occasions I have had to bite my lip rather than unleashing the truth that most won't make it and that it's a. Bleeding 4th tier team not the premier league. Parents are also a big issue ( I've had parents ask me if I want their 8/9/12 yo signature as they will be the next big thing, it's quite astounding some parents attitude) That said there are also a load of well grounded humble individuals as well. Who realise how lucky they are. But it this is happening at a lower league teams academy I imagine the same goes at villa but magnified.
  17. To my knowledge our youth system is the one area which hasn't been tinkered with-no? Maybe it is time to rip it up and start again? I'm not well placed enough to truly comment was just speculating. As something isn't right with it and the path from youth to first team seems (in the past for sure) to have been broken. Is that down to our predicament of perpetual relegation worries these past 5 seasons, is it because the players we have produced haven't been given a chance? Or is it because they aren't good enough which for me points to the training and mentoring of them. Can't judge this crop but how did we go from next gen winners to having none of that crop make an impact? Is it all the managers fault or is it because for whatever reason the academy staff haven't been producing enough quality youngsters. Genuinely interested to hear people who know the systems thoughts on this.
  18. Is the answer Jerusalem ? But all accounts he is s nice man who the players like but that doesn't mean he should be in charge of the first team as an interim. Give it to Black & Cowans or if our first choice is out of work whomever that is ( please not Pearson) appoint him now so he has the final 7 games to assess before pre season starts and hopefully comes to the conclusion that half the players are Arse holes who need to be shipped out ASAP. I would personally keep our foreign players* signed from last season if we can, shift out the English shit we signed plus Gabby & Bacuna and build from there. * if there attitude has been correct
  19. Him along with Richards are Fat disinterested wastes of space has beens! **** the pair them! http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/find-out-how-far-gabby-11075810 On average Westwood runs 11.42 kilometres a match in the Premier League. Captain Micah Richards is the outfield Villa player who covers the least distance per match - 8.71km! The figures have been provided by the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, the Official Player Rating Index of the Barclays Premier League. Jordan Ayew (11.27 km), Carles Gil (11.26 km). Jack Grealish (11.11 km) and Jordan Veretout (10.87 km) complete the top 5 of Villa’s hardest workers based on an average of 90 minutes. In the bottom five of Villa’s outfield players, along with Richards, are Jores Okore (9.03 km), Gabby Agbonlahor (9.18 km), Ciaran Clark (9.54 km) and Rudy Gestede (9.47 km).
  20. For me every manager deserves one window to bring their own players in. Sherwood was given that luxury. Then they can be judged fairly. i don't want to see half our team pull on our famous shirt ever again after this their disgraceful performances this season. Lescott, Richards, Bacuna, Agbonalahor, Sinclair, are not fit to be given a second chance. The lack of effort they have put in is beyond forgiveness. You can blame Remi to a degree no denying but the lay the blame fully at his door is just wrong in my eyes. Once the players cross that line they should play for the badge and those sack of shit have all been guilty of not doing that whilst picking up there fat wages. I don't any of them being given a second chance by a new manager after the utter contempt they have shown the fans. I know most of those will go but I'd rather Remi is given the opportunity to root out the shit that has help Led us to this mess in the first place then any of them staying.
  21. Ah I've got it ! it's about socialism and the abstract t poetry by William Blake
  22. Being British is about driving a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV........ am I close?
  23. He is exactly what WE need however we are not what he needs. His ego now would never allow him to come here, he wouldn't risk tainting his CV (sadly) with us. Maybe if an über rich billionaire bought us as his new play thing he could be tempted just can't see it under any other circumstances unfortunately.
