See FFP and the premier league version of it. Also look st the accounts which are freely available to view. Proves he has been putting money in. No sympathy towards him or grace just cold facts. We couldn't sustain our losses without him covering them. It is a whole seperste debate about Lerner having caused our losses by trusting his managers (badly) and appointing the wrong ones. And I agree with most of the criticism towards him btw.

Met dunne in nice airport in the summer a lot smaller than I imagined him to be up close. Very nice chap and had a lot of good things to say about us. Any ways we do need a pairing like dunne & Collins were that season. Perfect foils for each other.

If we were only ones to show the cash and weren't already miles adrift he might consider it. He hates there chairman. Didn't someone on here in the summer say they had asked him about joining us and he said he would be up for it. Could be making that up though. but it ain't gunna happen I know. Just let me dream for a while longer

I'm sure if we weren't cut adrift by January stumped up the cash and offered Clark Berahino could be an interesting option. Surely with the austerity measures and our small net spend we could push the boat out and spend 20-30 million to safeguard our future. Pipe dreams I know !

Net spend vs losses xFFP=money available. Read the above report.? Not defending him but to say he has been bleeding us dry is just wrong. I agree though we are where we are because he slammed the brakes on. However we didn't have a lot of choice due to FFP and could sustain losses like we were season upon season

Nice bit of (typical) revisionist history when referring to Petrov. He was shockingly bad and ineffectual at times in his first season and couldn't last more than 60 mins. He also had some cracking moments. Took him time to adapt.

Errmmm don't think he was. Let's not rewrite history just because of his unfortunate illness. Take a look through the early pages of his thread. Petrov was a marmite player, you either rated him or not until his illness then he became a legend.

Seen a few posts mention the club is rotten to the core and needs over hauling. Do they include (Job for life) Cowans in their assumptions or does he get a pass ? Not a loaded question or dig at anyone just genuinely interested. I like him but he has been part of the set up during these arduous years and maybe it's time to really shake up the whole back room staff and get rid of him and McDonald ? He needs to go ASAP I accept that. But people who have seemingly accepted and are sort of embracing the fact we may be relegated whilst wanting Lerner gone, are surely going to be in for a nasty shock. Lerner's task of selling us will become even harder. I very much doubt he will be willing to drop the price tag much lower, as he doesn't HAVE to sell us. Another round of austerity measures will probably be instigated due to drop in revenues. He may even decide to salvage some of his investment through taking out dividends. We could be stuck with each other for a few more seasons.

Saw enough today to convince me that we could work our way out of this. However its Too many individual mistakes costing us dearly. Until it's mathematically impossible I will keep faith and I urge all villa fans to do the same. The atmosphere at the ground can be dire & toxic the players need the crowd behind them (however shit they are) if we are too stand a chance. Keep the faith UTV !

Or dare I say instead of? Richards is learning to be a CB whereas it's Okore's natural position. Move Richards to RB and partner Okore with whoever isn't the shittest out of Clark & Lescott. Bring back cissokho & Bennet and I'd be happier about our survival hopes.
