New TV deal kicks in at the end of next season doesn't it? (Financially anyways) That's why this season more than ever it is vital to stay up so we reap the benefits at the end of next season. Finishing bottom next season is worth 100 mill not this. So we will miss out big time financially and make it even harder to compete let alone stay up.

Nah just constant moaning. Or statements not backed up with any substance. Lerner has been awful for the club in so many ways. He has also done great good (just not enough of in my opinion) Having met the man and spent a game in his company I know (back then at least) he obviously did love us (maybe not so much now). Intelligent criticism I have no problem with. He deserves a faur wedge of that. We are all entitled to our own views. But because of that, then those views are allowed to be challenged and called out in a respectful manner. I hope he sells us ASAP that doesn't mean he should just give us away to anyone who comes knocking. If he wants to give his son work experience (as in my view that's all it would be) in a business he has invested a fair whack of his inheritance in, so be it. He has admitted his failings, unlike Doug ever did/has. He has tried to stay true to our heritage (Holte pub, exec areas, Holte mosaic etc,) but that's not enough to protect himself from criticism. He has also been shocking with most of his appointments and the lack of commercial nous is unforgivable epecially when also owning the Cleveland Browns. But yeah let's call him a sha fan shall we. And let's not pick people up on it. Im passionate about this club as we all are, just hate the constant negativity especially at games. Doesn't help and like it or not it's a factor in our performances over the last 3 seasons or so at home. Heard from the horses mouth that some players prefer away games for that reason.

As it's just an unsubstantiated rumour I'm not too worried or wound up by this at all. If it is true surely it would be just a glorified work experience placement and he won't have any actual authority, can't see much wrong with him sitting in on board meetings (in that capacity) And for those saying he will be Lerner's eyes and ears, all board meetings have detailed minutes recorded, so Lerner will know what was said by who anyway. More pressing things to worry about in life than some 18 year old getting work experience. If my view is proven wrong I'll get angry then not now with no facts. Enough actual sticks to beat Lerner with without getting worked up over a rumour.

Criminal sabotage ? What like tearing down the old Trinity Road stand rather than sympathetically restoring, letting the Holte hotel fall into a state of such disrepair. Refusing to pay for a pitch so we ended up playing on painted sand? Lerner has neglected us yes but I'd say your statement is a tad OTT referring to criminal sabotage. You say at at least Doug didnt abandon the club, yet he let it fall by the wayside financially (as has Lerner) but answer me this...How much money did Doug put into the club Vs take out ? His much has Lerner put in to taken out? Occasional bad season ? We were shite under both and have been good under both. Different eras and timescales. We did win x2 cup finals under Doug but over an ownership period over twice as long. Both are bad for differing reasons. No revisionism required. It's not a case of one being good one being bad. Both have been bad for the club and have also done good. Lerner has tried and failed and is trying to find someone to take us forward. Can't ask for much more to be (realistically) honest.

Good shout regarding Houlilier. Shame he had to go due to insurance reasons. I wonder where we would be nice if he stayed. Tbh I really couldn't care who the chairman is as long as he is quiet & efficient. Thats all I expect.
