It’s a sort of mute discussion ... Elite clubs need to start bidding for our players, and when they do that is vindication of our strategy going to plan. If & when this starts to happen (and in many ways we should want this to happen sooner than later) I’ve the confidence in the management structure to get it right more than wrong in terms of replacements. Selling players to clubs we are aspiring to be above i.e mid table - now that I’d be more concerned with but don’t see this being an issue currently.

Upshot is IMO we should target both Sosa & Saša Kalajdžić and they hopefully be on our radar this summer! Both are exactly what we need, right age and fees with room to grow. For that formation to work effectively IMO we would need to swop Luiz for McGinn and then have a DM or can drop back into the centre of defence. Targett & Cash would provide the width as well as Jack and Ollie. The DM would need to step back into defence to ensure we were not overloaded on the counter attack.

Another young striker I’ve been reading up on and trying to watch more of is Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina ... Any Serie A fans shed some more light on his abilities and potential? He appears to be a realistic option.

Chiesa id say is the future of Juve and Italy so IMO zero chance of getting him... Im not sure how they play with Chiesa, Kulusevski and Bernardeschi. So maybe one of those two are more realistic targets longer term.

I’ve just never been 100% sold on Tammy as an elite level Striker - especially due to the fee they would expect... I’m just tired and reading about Tammy as if he is the only option, or how we should shunt Watkins onto the wing to shoehorn another striker in. Im ok with the new striker coming in to replace Watkins in the XI as he shouldn’t be assured the shirt and should earn it... Competition for places is what is required to keep progressing as a club.

To all harping in about Tammy or even Edouard, there are more than two strikers out there we can choose from... Better players whom offer better value. I don’t see that Lange has been brought in along with McKenzie to go for the Tammy’s of this world... Daryl Dike, Sima & kutcha, Sekou Koita & Patson Daka....

I’d say the same to anyone pining for Tammy to return ....

We need to be scouting the U23 squads of the bigger elite teams and find the next Lamptey on the periphery... Yasser Larouci from plop - young LB whose contract is up this summer highly rated and linked with Leeds & Brighton. Then you have Florian Balgoun & Kido Taylor-Hart - both from Arsenal whose contracts are also expiring. These are the sorts of deals we should be targeting IMO. I want us to be The Leipzig equivalent - the team that young players want to join due to the chances given to them.

Davis has all the attributes required to be a great player - you see fleeting glimpses of it... He Just cannot score. I do see why they persist with him ( we have no other choice for one) but it won’t be for much longer. He won’t be here next season .

He has the potential to be a top level player. But as you highlighted, those stats would be the only reason we would be in the (hypothetical) race for his signature.
