  1. Indeed i dont understand it either, i thought he did ok against Utd when he came on but a lot of people on here ripped him apart. He was a lot better than Heskey today, but i dont think either can play up front on there own. He's not as sharp as he could be, but if he could hit the form of the end of last season he could be a very important player for us. Although he has been awful for most of the season.
  2. Yeah Spurs fans in general seem a bit thick. I remember a couple of them came into where i worked and asked who i support. I said Villa. They said they feel sorry for me, I said how can a Spurs fan feel sorry for a Villa fan?? He said "because you've never won anything". I said we were the 4th most successful club in English football history. I said weve won 7 titles, a european cup 7 FA cups and 5 league cups. What have spurs done i asked. " we were the first club to ever win the double in 61" he said. No you wasn't i said but didn't bother to explain.
  3. Villa would be huge if they had won more trophies than Spurs in any single decade since World War 1. Villa would be huge if Spurs had not won more trophies than them in 4 out of the last 5 decades. Villa would be huge if Spurs had not won nearly twice as many trophies since World War 1. Villa would have made a small step towards becoming huge if their last trophy wasn't 14 years ago, since when Spurs have added two trophies to their tally. Villa would be huge were it not for the fact that a large proportion of all your trophies were won in the 19th century - when there were only a small number of clubs in the Football League, the whole league structure had not even properly formed and Villa were simply a big fish in a very small pond. Villa would be huge were it not for the fact that it wasn't even until the early years of the 20th century that southern clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs even established themselves in the League ... since which time the trophy count of all these clubs has dwarfed Villas. And some people wonder why your not liked around here.
  4. joey, you only have to look at the longevity of this thread to realise that the anti-Spurs thing is something of an obsession on here for a few VTers. The mods might as well make it a sticky-thread ... because it's always on page 1. Even when I've not posted on here for a longish-while, I know without even looking which thread will be near (or at) the top of the page. Can you imagine a similiar, never-ending thread about Villa on a Spurs site? No way jose. It wouldn't be so sad, except that probably about half the posts are not about football at all, but rather concern various forms of personal abuse, many of them directed against Harry and most of these concerning his post-car accident facial appearance. Oh well .... No because i doubt spurs sites have sad Villa fans with to much time on there hands lording themselfs up all the time to detriment to the club the website is for.
  5. Indeed not a great performance but a good result. Another similar against UTD and and we are in it.
  6. I thought Gabby was good when given the service, he just struggled without any support what so ever.
  7. Actually it's 2 wins away in the last 8 away games (Pompey and Blackburn), plus 4 draws, including draws away at Villa, Everton, Fulham and B'ham. Is that so bad? I'm also not sure why you are laughing - take a look at the table and figure that after next weekend Villa might need to gain 6 points on Spurs in order to overtake us in the table. Or after next weekend we might be 1 point ahead with a game in hand. BOF : Abuse removed.
  8. Well i had just got a text and was answering it saw the ball by the net presumed it was saved until bit by bit Villa fans started celebrating. It was a bit odd. Great finish for his second though.
  9. Me too first half we were very good, i know this because i didn't see a lot of it because i was in row A and the game was up the other end. Gabby and Dunne were excellent and Downing was a million times better then against le Arse too. Luke Young was excellent to, he made 1 or 2 goal saving last ditch tackles. Im still not a big fan of Cuellar at right back, but he was great at clearing set plays. Chant od the day, You only sing when your off side, sing when your off side.
  10. It really depends hoe big the division is, ATM the big fights are around welter weight.
  11. The moment i herd Randy had taken over on the September morning, is by far the biggest and most important moment of the last decade.
  12. I always thought Milner was a very good wide player but in the middle he's on another level.
  13. Hello General thnaks for the free flag om arrival. I have one complaint however, someone seems to have torn it in a few places any chance in getting an unripped one or do i have to get out my sowing kit? Sorry ive had many drinks.
  14. Spoke to Malignaggi on twitter last night, he really wants the Mayweather fight at welter and he said Khan has no intrest in fighting him as he "called him out".
  15. Should have had the tie all but tied up but you cannot argue with a 1 goal lead. I thought Milner and Young were a class appart.
  16. Well the last time we were well beaten like this was against Wigan, and then we went on to beat who??
  17. I agree i think this could effectively end citys push this season. If they won there game in hand they would have 3 points behind. Its all good though.
  18. Its the week of my birthday, ive turned 33 and i dont think ive ever had a birthday week like this in the god knows how many years ive been following Villa. Ive lived in LOndon now for 6 years, now all i get is positive feed back from other fans when they ask who i support, 5 or 6 years ago i used to get alot of stick. I just lobve the club love Randy and love all the players and i love you too Genaral im so happy at the moment. ps im sorry, many drinks have been drunk at this time, i hope this makes sense.
