  1. Where though, there’s no room, could put it underneath I guess
  2. We’d have to speak very kindly to the Czech Republic national team as I nicked it from their badge as I liked the modern take on a traditional rampant lion.
  3. Knock yourself out (not literally of course)
  4. Tweaked it trying to make the lion and Aston Villa more prominent. as well as adding a good lion Maqroll. I was trying to play around with the villa element as I dug out an old programme from the McGrath era recently in the garage and the villa of Aston Villa was really emphasised on the front page. I’m sure the professional marketers out there will come up with something far better. It’d work nicely when we get our Adidas kits in a couple of years!
  5. Some random on Twitter. Makes sense though, Fred for a year and then bring in KKH next season to challenge Cash.
  6. Looks like KKH is off to MK Dons again for the season so expect Fred to stick around.
  7. I’d love it to be a media stunt, spread all this propaganda about one of our best prospects not signing an extension, the world ends up talking about little ole Villa and the fact that we can’t keep our best youngsters and then BAM, he signs a new contract and little ole Villa go F U to the world. Not going to happen though
  8. Based purely on who my favourite players were Angel Merson Taylor If I had to choose a CB I’d swap Mersin for McGrath
  9. Apologies if posted already but this made me chuckle
  10. Isn’t this what all the PSG guys are doing at the moment due to his old manager now being at PSG. As said before would love him at Villa so if we’re talking propaganda to get it done, I’m all in (indirectly I might as I’m not on Twitter)
  11. I also quite like Nico Gonzalez at Barca too but not sure he’d be an immediate starter. Dahoud at Dortmund perhaps?
  12. With the above seeming to be a common idea amongst us, I.e. recruiting the above could propel us closer to the top 6, who we going for? Not gonna happen but Laimer and Lautaro Martinez for me. Would only take about £100m
  13. Like I say, a bit of a daydream of mine but It would be nice to watch Coutinho, Paqueta, Buendia and Ramsey tearing it up.
  14. This is just a hypothetical question but if we went all in on someone like Paqueta would Buendia in a midfield 3 work, Say Buendia, Ramsey, Kamara? Paqueta is a SS/CAM/CM but more the former than the latter. He does have good pressing stats though and likes a tackle.
  15. Depends on timeframes I guess, all the talk at the end of 21/22 was we were disappointed with our league position. All the players are talking Europe this time around. To get Europe this year, what with all the improvements the Sky 6 have made, we definitely need a quality starting CM minimum. If Carney goes we need some depth too. If the owners are happy with top 10 this year then these plans can be relaxed but I don’t think top 10 is enough for them.
  16. I’d put Fred and Target at about the same level, Fred is better going forward for me as Target’s forward play was always enhanced by Grealish. Whenever I’ve seen Fred play for us he always seems pissed off with not getting the ball when attacking, as if his team mates aren’t seeing his runs as he gets into some good positions. Cash came on leaps and bounds last year, Fred might do the same under Gerrard perhaps?
  17. I kind of agree but I don’t think it’s Ings that’s the issue per se. It’s Watkins. Ings is not getting any younger and at this stage I’d say behind Watkins. If Watkins was more clinical then we wouldn’t be having this debate. What we need is a Star Trek transporter malfunction where Watkins and Ings are combined.
  18. I also think we’re in the market for a, key word here, ‘clinical’ finisher but not this Summer.
  19. Disagree on where players are placed as IrnBru is a CDM and A. Ramsey is a CAM but the above points to us being short at CM as Tim will most likely go on loan and Sanson is not fancied. Having a player than can do both the 6 and 8 role would suit us. Ideally I’d like a CM to push McGinn Luiz as a starter and a 6/8 hybrid to cover, wishful thinking on my part though. I’d also like some more CAM cover as Anwar will be sold, JPB will most likely go on loan and Traore, although gifted, isn’t consistent enough, but that’s me being greedy.

    Ezri Konsa

I think Konsa is a rolls Royce of a defender but he does sometimes shirk his passing responsibilities and let Mings take the burden, which is kudos to Mings but also means he gets all the flack if he misplaces a pass. Will be interesting to see both Mings and Carlos sharing the responsibility this season as it gives the opposition more to deal with, especially now with Kamara in the mix when passing out from the back. What I like about Konsa though is he’s a clever defender, knows when to draw a foul and 9/10 gets the decision go his way. I also think a back three of Mings, Carlos and Konsa would be great against the more attacking sides.
  21. 25 Man Squad Homegrown = * Think we’re allowed 17/25 none homegrown players. We currently have 15/25 Space for 2/3 more, if we shift some deadwood. I haven’t included the U21s as I think they’re exempt. 1 Martinez* 2 Cash* 3 Digne 4 Carlos 5 Mings* 6 Kamara 7 McGinn 8 Luiz 9 Buendia 10 Coutinho 11 Watkins* 12 Olsen 13 Guilbert 14 Augustinsson 15 Chambers* 16 Konsa* 17 Nakamba 18 Sanson - SELL/LOAN 19 Young* (he isn’t a CM) 20 Bailey 21 Traore 22 Ings* 23 El Ghazi - SELL 24 Hause* - SELL/LOAN 25 Davis* - SELL U21 players (Contract and Scholars) J. Ramsey - 1st Team Sqd Archer - 1st Team Sqd Philogene-Bidace - 1st Team Sqd A. Ramsey - 1st Team Sqd / LOAN Chukwuemeka - SELL Azaz (LOAN) Barry (LOAN) Bogarde Chrisene (LOAN) Feeney Kessler-Hayden (LOAN) Iroegbunam (LOAN) Raikhy (LOAN) Sinisalo (LOAN) So we could easily accommodate a starting CM, a back up CM, a ST and a CBL, even if they were all non homegrown. Perhaps not all this Summer but it’s doable. We’d obviously have to get shot of El Ghazi and Sanson to do this though.
  22. RB wise I think all three are good at going forward, in their own individual ways and in truth it’s the defensive side of things that splits them more than anything else. For me I’d keep Fred for the remainder of his contract and say thank you very much at the end of it. For me he’s the better deputy for Cash at this precise moment in time. Different story next year though if we can get KKH a decent championship loan. The club may see it differently and sell him this summer but that’s my honest opinion.
  23. Agree on Sanson and Davis but I’d keep Fred around as he’s decent cover for Cash. I’d send KKH out on loan to the championship personally.
