  1. We attack as a team and defend as a team now, his extra ability helps the team far more than the odd occasion he has a one on one. To have intelligent footballers with range is that extra % advantage we are looking for all over the pitch.
  2. Wow, already my favourite player, he is going to be a legend here. I love him!
  3. OK, it seems there is a week left and with player outs we have quite a few £€ that we could spend (some suggested we had as much as £160m this window before sales). We’ve lost 2 key players and still needed an AM/#10 and forward (in fact more so with Archer leaving). i can only assume we are working on some big deals as the final moves unfold elsewhere leaving the options for players to narrow, otherwise I have to say what is at stake and what money is available, to do nothing would seem like a seriously missed opportunity to double down on our momentum and given our now certain additional burden of the Conference league.
  4. Looking forward to the window closing, it’s torture.
  5. Nuno Tavares looks to be in the Emery mould, would be quite happy if we ended up with him as a 23y.o. understudy to Moreno.
  6. Torres will unlikely move having played and scored for Barca yesterday. Felix just feels like it won’t happen and any deal would have no future as he see himself only destined for Barca. Goncalves is still available, as is Vlahovic and Chiesa. Maybe we are putting as much money in the pot to land a top drawer signing. We still haven’t replaced Ings.
  7. https://x.com/greggevans40/status/1693534371259527354?s=61&t=7BneOdoj-6Dz_z6GoxSNNw Seemingly Emery wanted him in the squad this campaign, but Philogene wanted minutes. We have a buy back. Can’t argue with the market? Is he out of contract at the end of this year? It also suggests we need better?
  8. It suggests to me no club is really interested or rates him as highly as some fans do. If we didn’t have the PL distortion field, perhaps that’s his true value?
  9. Exactly this. Its what City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have successfully done for years, keeping the very best (who are few and far between). To balance this however, J Ramsey has emerged because he had the chance in the first team or else he may not have shown enough quickly enough to remain unsold. Those chances are not going to be afforded due to the jeopardy of every match and expectation.
  10. Played it safe, which as a CB is great, very much in the mould of Kamara. Nothing spectacular, just reassuring. I didn’t think he was turned by Danjuma, he just napped ball watching, leaving him run in behind.
  11. You would imagine that Traore offers more this season than Philgene.
  12. Looked assured and hungry today. We have t quite resolved our attack yet, and YT had little running ahead of him but he is reassuringly dependable, and always threatens to do something. He is funding his place ( as are most actually), very excited by his arrival and think he starts on Wednesday.
  13. Great but left wanting more, we still haven’t clicked, sounds crazy. Fantastic result, great that Duran got his goal, but another long term injury for Phil, he was looking sharp too. Looking forward to Wednesday….
  14. It’s like a library inside VP. I can hear Emery from my sofa.
  15. McGinn has been awesome today, head and shoulders MOM.
  16. Archer time. Against Newcastle, they roared them on and continued to attack in wave after wave for 90+ minutes. We have relaxed since taking control.
  17. In fairness it’s fine margins, he does so much right, but today it just isn’t his day.
  18. Yes!! Hopefully Bailey rediscovers his mojo now!
  19. Went a bit flat last 15 minutes, crowd need to do their bit to gee this up. Still a little rusty in the middle, Bailey sorely lacking in confidence still. Would like to see Tielemans given a decent outing. But all good, complacency might cost us, we should be at least 4 up by now, Diaby’s volley could have been a VP legend if it went in. Hopefully we can get one more and try out Duran/Archer.
  20. Hopefully he is finding his feet. Like Archer, perhaps needs a little time to start to blossom. And for me the word “attackive” is not used enough in the English language.
  21. Super excited by this, I mean properly excited. Fingers crossed, but this guy is a baller. Handled well he could be our Cantona. Doesnt strike me initially as an Emery player but what do I know? He could be a legend if he finds his feet and stays fit. I am very excited
  22. You can’t leave at it that: is it ‘Stewart’ or ‘Stevvart’?
  23. Don’t know what to expect as a lot of cold water and pessimism has been thrown on his talent, but my god if he can recover 80% of his ability then we have some player. He reminds me of Bale a bit, that irrepressible rampaging running with a hellova shot on him too. Fingers crossed….
