  1. Me too, my family can eat an hour earlier than planned at this rate.
  2. Need to get a grip on the midfield battle, it’s not working and we have our best out there. It’s putting pressure on the whole team.
  3. Half time talk will help, and if we score i reckon this game gets turned on its head
  4. I am sure we started confidently, but after conceding after 3, losing a key defender to injury and struggling to put any sequence together for 20 minutes, it’s gone.
  5. Watkins showing lots of very frustrated body language. Show that we have enough to hurt Liverpool if we tag in our confidence. Could be level with better luck….
  6. So do we go back to hoofing it out? No, we keep it going, there’s going to be hicups. what I will say in typical Villa fan fashion we have to have a scape goat of the moment and a lot are choosing Torres at the moment. But whilst he conceded a corner, the corner led to a goal which needed defending after. I dont blame Torres.
  7. Happy days (for Archer). Vindicates his move, no way he start s here. He is now going to get at least 30+ full 90 minute games at PL level which he would never have achieved here. Never. You cannot offer that where we are in our journey and jeopardy that is involved for all involved. If he blossoms and we have a £30m buy-back we have a decision to make, but in a year or two Villa is going to be a stellar destination for most ambitious players. Who knows, we may have Watkins, Vlahovic, Diaby, Nico Williams as our forward then. I just wish Archer well and hope he gets so good we have another bargain to buy, but we are on our own journey and its up to him to catch up.
  8. You can only be delighted by our window: both the quality we added and the price we paid. Outgoing seem logical and good value too. Very accomplished and efficient business, and you just know Monchi and the team will be in overdrive lining up further remodelling for the future.
  9. What’s interesting is the eventual price of some players moving to other clubs who we were linked with vs the price the media suggested the selling club was looking for. These varied hugely which suggests that it’s mostly BS from the press. Fresneda, the other young Spanish fullback who’s name escapes me and Abde are three who eventually moved for considerably less than the press were valuing the deals at.
  10. It’s no wonder given the sh*t they have to put up with with opposing fans baiting them all game from a few metres away. They can’t run away.
  11. He’s a good keeper, not sure he’d play second fiddle
  12. The reality is we are good to go, anything incoming needs to be better than what we've got or its a waste, we really dont need the numbers with Ramsey and Moreno coming back. I reckon Diaby, Traore and most convincingly Zaniolo could all play in place of Watkins if needed.
  13. Fati leaving was likely enough to assure a future at Barca. Based on his start to the season it was far more likely Ebde might appear here. Torres may be a long term target however, as might Goncalves, Nico Williams and Vlahovic if we get Champions league.
  14. I felt sorry for the Hibs fans, who to their credit turned up in terrific numbers, and I watched a few fans YT around the first leg and was surpised that they have a big young following - quite the family club. But the draw was such a mis-match and was hiding to nothing, but they were a credit to themselves and Sunshine on Leith has rarely sounded better (I bought that Proclaimers album back in the day!). Thought Kellyman was great, what a player he could become; delighted by Duran and thought Revan was absolutely solid and trustworthy. Thought we were sticky during the first 10 minutes, but it was plain sailing thereafter. Was a little surprised that Tielemans didnt have more of an impact, and was also surprised at Dendonker who I thought looked totally comfortable and on-message in the midfield. And whilst I was dissapointed Duran didnt get 90 minutes, I did note how reassuring Watkins is in this side, he knows his role well and is a busy, physical presence, if he could only a few more chances into goals he would be the perfect striker. At odds of 5/1 as the eventual winners, I think I am going to take a punt on us.
  15. Revan is a tidy, safe player, can’t see a break through yet, can’t see his X factor, but he’s never let anyone down on all his outings.
  16. O’Reilly will get a run out second half. Where’s Traore? He is cursed.
