  1. I guess the point he is making there is that the poor start to the season might be down to a squad adapting to a new manager’s style and if they continue this form right from the off next season they will be a top half side?
  2. Biden is in power now and can’t get funding approved. It seems likely that not a lot changes in November even if he stays in power.
  3. I’m suspicious that your name is indeed ‘Dodgyknees’ to be brutally honest.
  4. Meh, no one has a 100% record with their predictions. I think he’s pretty fair with his analysis in general.
  5. I think he’s a pretty decent pundit really.
  6. Yes, I always found his Barcelona boring to watch as well. Endless short passing back and forth between Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta before someone eventually plays in Messi, once the defence has gone to sleep
  7. Chelsea are actually pretty good in attack. Their Xg is typically much higher than the number of goals they score. Their biggest problem is they have no striker to finish those chances.
  8. They only became the best club in the world once Guardiola arrived there.
  9. He’s not superman. He would have been covering the other side if the goal like any keeper.
  10. It will bring some extra revenue, it might get a new signing over the line or help with sponsorship negotiations. What it won’t do is turn us into the new Tottenham or Arsenal. The same way it hasn’t for Newcastle and didn’t for Leicester. I would predict we are more likely than not to finish outside the Champions League the season after and I expect the club would be planning for that scenario in their spending.
  11. I think you might be disappointed. We will not be spending at a level that assumes we are now have Champions League revenue for the foreseeable.
  12. Oh absolutely. Making the Champions League is not going to change our world the way some people seem to think.
  13. Not sure about that. I believe he has played 6 times for us this season and we have won five of those matches (tonight being his first loss). I remember last season he was keeper in our 2-0 win at Tottenham as well. He’s no Martinez but he’s been better under Emery than he used to be.
  14. A keeper can’t cover the whole goal on a free kick from that close. They rely on a wall to cover off one portion so they are free to concentrate on another. If the wall doesn’t do their job that is the fault of the wall, not the keeper.
  15. We played pretty well but a few mistakes at key times cost us. Iroegbunam deserves a mention for putting in a good performance in the middle of the pitch in one of the most difficult matches in football.
  16. And when we play Brentford they won’t mention how much more we have spent either. The Premier League has been about the biggest budgets winning the league for as long as I have followed it.
  17. Is there something more to this than just being frustrated at him scoring against us?
  18. Yeah but for different reasons. Luton were pathetic to watch, we have had heart.
  19. I reckon that Foden kid’s got a future in this game
  20. Played well. Frustrating to concede to a soft free kick through the wall
  21. We don’t seem to be dominating them quite as much as the last time we played but the pace of our front three is causing them problems
  22. Seeing Luton being bludgeoned by Arsenal is painful to watch.
