  1. God i bet Ireland are going to miss Paul McShane and Caleb Folan.
  2. I'd play the 3 of them together, think it would be pretty good at holding on to the ball.
  3. Well thats a nice interview about him.
  4. Went for £20m. We should be spending the Milner money at the very least.
  5. Would take it as gospel tbh. Wouldn't want RSC anyway.
  6. Brilliant all round performance, shame we didn't hold them out at the end, we deserved too. Downing was near unplayable, Albie was top notch. Shame Gabby had to go off although its not entirely unexpected considering the amount of time he has been out, it let their defence off the hook a bit. Ref was shite too. Not sure why we sat back so much because as soon as you let your intensity drop against them, they will score against you.
  7. I think in the main the spoke quite highly of our kids. Fair play to them for that, we did play very well today. With Gardner Jnr to come in at some point who is potentially the best of the lot we could have a top midfield for free in a few years. Well not totally free with Delph.
  8. I'm sorry but he wasn't found wanting last night. He competed well in the game. Also in 10 second half minutes he could have been responsible for 3 goals if the ref had been a bit stronger.
  9. playe well today i thought especially for 19 and on his own up top.
  10. Gerrard, Giggs, ronaldo (brazil), best, messi, Van basten just off the top of my head to add to the other ones. It's great being optimistic but it's pretty stupid to predict big things because so many promising youngsters have gone on to achieve **** all in the game. Wel done on handpicking some of the best ever footballing talent. If they get anywhere near that we will have done very well.
  11. Oh rite, well maybe he didn't do so well then. The one thing that concerns me is his percieved lack of effort. Very much the Moore brothers. Shame really as he has loads of talent. He is pretty quick too, not as fast as Gabby but he is fast.
  12. Well im glad he did ok for us. Maybe the run of games will spur him on now, would have been good for him if he'd have put one of them chances away.
  13. FWIW i think he might do pretty well, he always had the talent when i have watched the reserves.
  14. The last two lines arent the most encouraging. I'm trying but I honestly can't see the negativity in it. All Houllier is saying is that, in a positive way, Fonz won't be over-awed and knows what is expected of him and that the other unfortunate events might work to his favour. I guess, maybe it was just me. It's just the way he said to him it might seem like an oppurtunity. Not that its his chance to shine and all that. I guess GH is fairly understated in that kind of thing anyway though. Theres some more decenet comments on the birmingham mail sight where he says he just needs to up for the fight a bit more. He talks a bit better of him there.
  15. The last two lines arent the most encouraging.
  16. I didn't see anything walking in or out. We walked out the Holte and down past the away stand, nothing doing when we went past, just a bit of ususal banter.
  17. This is the main difference with rugby and footy, in rugby we just have it out there and then, both people either get told off or binned for 10, but you shake hands and get on with the game either way. In footy it just builds up and carries on for ages after.
  18. Haven't you just assumed the reverse there Chindie by saying people are making up how well he is doing. I don't really care because i wasn't a massive fan but you do like to put him down. Say the same if Mcgrath did it? hmm.
  19. Chindie i have to agree with the above, as much as it was daft and id rather he didnt do it its hardly a stripping of the capatancy offence. Come on man, it was a derby and he is our player who puts himself about. It was a good job he did today otherwise we would have lost. I never really rated him, but he is playing well for us atm.
  20. Terrible decision. That challenge was akin to the stuff Karl Henry has been dishing out. Foster wiped Clarke out, with the potential for a terrible head injury and it went unpunished. Just because he is a goalkeeper, it's okay for him to mistime a challenge. It's bullshit and sets a dangerous precedent. It's a joke isn't it. Why do keepers have their own set of rules? If you catch someone after they have played the balll it's a foul. It's not just today it happens in every game, every week. The other one they do is come out to catch the ball with their knees up so they catch people in the face, isn't that the same as an overly forceful tackle which they have started punishing these days. Really pisses me off this.
  21. Well not sure im going to get a ticket for this but i`ll give it a go.
  22. This is a fair point. Time is needed. I missed the game yesterday but he was invloved in all our attacking moves on the highlights befoe he went off, so he has that quality and vision we will need to become better at unlocking defences, we just ned to do it more often now. Oh and score tha chances when they come.
