  1. He played very well today imo. Dealt well with a tricky in form winger, is solid on the air, comfortable on the floor and has one hell of a throw on him. Thomas didn't want to go near him for a while in the 1st half after a couple of heavy challlenges.
  2. Great shout I've mentioned this too. Has to be worth a try surely. I don't know, he's good opn the deck but lacks pace and dynamism that a lot of FB's have. Then again, Staunton was good so maybe lol. I think his position will be CB, as he gets stronger he'll get better. He should get better in the air with more strength and the only thing he'll then lack is pace. I doubt he would be much less dynamic than Warnock.
  3. Its just experience thats needed, knowing how physical you need to be and what you can get away with. He will naturally get stronger and tougher as he gets older.
  4. Already said in the GH thread, a very good article that i agree with.
  5. Great shout I've mentioned this too. Has to be worth a try surely.
  6. General thanks for your response as ever, i know there is only so much you can say with your attackment to the board. I would say though that the actual word sorry does go a long way even if the general message of the statement meant he was sorry. If the actual word isnt there people deem it to be making excuses and trying to justify their actions. The comment about the 2nd goal is worrying for me also. I know you won't sack GH as if probably makes the board look too eager to sack which is fair enough, i just think their is a very good management team available for nothing right now, who have current and very real success in a number of roles. Also don't you think GH was saying more what he really thinks when he was speaking from the heart on monday rather than a pre planned and thought out messgae released on the OS the next day. Sorry Gen a lot of people will never let this go, thats football for you, they are a rival team, you just can't do it.
  7. General i don't think i have made a negative comment about our club to you before but yesterday was one of the worst moments in my history of supporting this club. It is simply not acceptable for our manager to behave like that and make the comments he did. Its so disrespectful its almost laughable (i know a lot of clubs will be laughing). I was willing to give him time and have everyone back before i judged him but not only was the performance a joke the whole not seeming to be bothered about he club is too much to take. Its been said by people who know the players that they don't respect GH and that they don't really want to play for him. Its shows to be honest, did you realise we haven't gained a point from any game we have gone behind in. I wasn't Martins biggest fan but at least the team had fight, you knew you could come back from going behaind and he always respected the fans and the clubs history. I know it was hard to sort all this out so close to the season but we have made a mistake, GH won't repair that relationship with a fair amount of our supports no matter how many games we win. I think for the longer term (he is 63 with a history of heart problems anyway) we should be looking to change this around. My 1st choice and many others including yours if rumours are to be believed is now available for free, as is his assitant whilst at Spurs by some crazy coincidence, so if the board feel that way, now is exactly the right time to do it, even if it seems a bit harsh.
  8. Well i think last night my have been a bit of a lesson, i wont hold it against him its all experience, he didn't do anything right though.
  9. I couldn't tell you properly either way, i thought it was good for trade to be in the EU.
  10. Bannan is getting the big up, he has got a chance though got some real ability on the ball. One lovely pace which led to his chance on Wed.
  11. I'd like him even with his attitude as he is a waulity player. Not sure it means we are going to sell Ash as he now plays in the hole. We only have two wingers then if you don;t count Ash, not exactly too many, we could do with one more imo.
  12. General i am purely going to comment on the behaviour of the Birmingham fans last night and the lack of reaction from the police and their own stewards. During the game we were hit by coins, seats and unbelievably pints of urine from the tier above us. There are a number of things that angered me, 1) is that they continue to allow the `hardcore` element of theirs fans to sit above the away section, 2) if they still want to do that why they allow them to sit all the way to the front where they can lean over and aim at people 3) That the stewards posted there take no action whatsoever, almost encouraging that action 4) that the police watched in full view all of these things and didnt act at all. They made out they were trying to do something asking us to calm down and wait ( I knew full well they wouldn't as they havent on all me previous visits to their ground) whilst still allowing it to continue. What exactly are they there for if not to deal with situations like that? How long would it have taken to send a few police officers into the top tier to discourage this behaviour, instead we just had to deal with it. Chairs and coins are one thing, they hurt, but hey who hasn't been hurt, pints of piss however is just rediculous. I wonder how the officers would have felt if they had it happen to them, pretty sure they would have moved then. Seen as they are resopsible for our safety as we are in no position to do anything about it ourselves they need to be far more proactive in dealing with things that are in plain view. I would like you to make a formal complaint to BCFC and to West Midlands police about the incidents and the lack of action. It angered a lot of fans around me and probably added to the hostile sceens at the end of the game as so many people were wound up at been subjected to that throughout the game. Im not holding my breath however as nothing has ever been done before.
  13. He played ok today, the whole team spent the game chasing shadows tbh. Glad he got his goals he is a threat, will do his confidence the world of good.
  14. Thats one of the things he does a lot for the reserves, its probably one of his strengths. He is just making his way and trying to make an impression which is why he is dropping off. He's pretty good at the too imo.
  15. If Gabby isn't fit, he has to start.
  16. Love how much he wants the ball, could well make the whole team tick once he gets settled in and we have a more senior team around him.
  17. Promising he is improving and GH thinks he is doing well.
  18. The best thing about our kids is the attitude of the mall, they all seem very prepared to work hard and learn.
  19. Glad he has signed a new contact, he could be a star.
  20. Good read that, glad he dropped Gary in this time, he is defintaly one to watch.
  21. Don't be daft, that means Scotland shirts have to be on sale to the general public! Surely there is no demand for them :winkold:
  22. It was 8 and Maloney was slightly taller than our Barry.
  23. Oh and come on wee Barry tonight, make Scotland look good for once. * * sorry to all our Scottish fans.
  24. while this is true i only think he is as guilty as every other footballer. Hes just a little more honest. For instance didnt he state at pompey that he saw them as a stepping stone, gave his all on the pitch and moved on to a bigger club. Compare that to the roles played by Milner and Barry, i dont see how hes any different. He's probably also had his ego checked a little seen as he hasn't really been a regualr at any of his CL clubs. Well he was at RM until JM got there i think.
