  1. I know what you mean. But even so. Science and evolution is based on facts, something religion is not. I'm not big in religion so I don't know an awful lot past the basics. God did apparently create everything? As in the whole universe.. what is there in the bible that talks about other planets, life outside of earth? Generally everything I see/hear about the bible is based here and it would seem somewhat unusually if God as to create a whole universe, but do naff all on anything except earth?
  2. Did they have blackouts between the start of December and the start of Feb then? He's not even played half of our Premier League games, shouldn't be on there.. Anyways, Petrov. Followed by Luke Young, Friedel, Ashley and Barry.
  3. I think you've just owned the bible with this one.
  4. Dockery got a bit of stick on one of the NFL forums I'm on by Giants fans, though I've nevre really noticed anything bad about him.. maybe I just don't understand the NFL so well then or something! Win/win for us really, another 2nd rounder will be nice (we already have another 2nd rounder from the Shockey trade, don't we?) and our CB group at the moment is young, so we won't have to worry about that position for a while.
  5. 3-1 Chelsea. They've not won here for a while, that's going to change.
  6. Paul McGrath, yes. That character made up in all them religious books, no.
  7. did i say you should be banned from singing songs??I think not. Anyway kurt, we do the banter thing etc too, singing Englands number 6 to rob green who turned round and laughed so we chanted englands number 3. Anyway, yeah i joined to say thanks because a lot of your fans clapped our disabled teams. I wss more trying to stick up for our own platers and fans than slate yours but i dont appreciate me, my family, my friend being called vile, racists etc, it makes me so angry, being given an untrue label by people. For the recird, we wont catch you, due to our feckin dreadful start to the season, but we will learn from that. I'm pretty sure none of us were labelling you or anybody you know racists so I wouldn't take it to heart. Do us a favour and beat Chelsea then. You might not catch us.. but you can catch Chelsea!
  8. Well I agree with you slagging Rooney off. But Lescott played for a club that we hate, he also claims to be a Villa fan who then winds up the fans after he scores a point-saving goal () in the last minute. Bothered abot him? Yeah, I suppose we are. He winds us up, we sing about him, it's fan/player banter really. Like MD said, it's not him or us who is bothered.. it's the Everton fans of all people. Clapping keepers? To be honest I thought it was common to do that, I always applaud the opposition keeper when he is defending the Holte End goal. We even go as far as having mid-game banter with keepers. (Anyone remember at home to Spurs with Paul Robinson last season?) In our UEFA Cup game earlier in the season, vs FH I believe, the Villa fans stayed behind to applaud their players are they walked around the pitch after the final whistle. And I'm sure these things are the case for every club. Hell, you should know what our fans are like, I believe the reason you joined the forum in the first place was because of how respectful our fans were during a half time thing last season? Anyways, back on topic. I did a general prediction of the amount of points I thought Everton would pick up this season and it came to 26, which is quite worrying. Given our 11 point lead at the moment, that'd mean we'd need around 17 points from 13 games to at least finish above them. We have a very tough run, but I think it's do-able especially if we can get something out of Chelsea. Key thing now is to avoid defeat to Everton back at VP, and we do ourselves the World of good.
  9. Exactly. It's a piss take, singing songs about players being ugly.. do you think we'd care if you sung songs about Gabby being ugly? No, we'd probably laugh. That's what being a fan is, having a laugh, it doesn't need to be taken seriously unless it's becoming racist or something. Not sure why your fans are going to wound up about that and our 'shit support' song. :?
  10. Singing bad songs about players are the same. You may feel you have 'more right' to sing anti-Rooney stuff or whatever, but that's because you're an Everton fan. That "most knowledgable fans" stuff is a bit crap, it gets thrown around about every team as just a nice thing to say.. what do they do, quiz us on football or something? Not sure where they get it from if I'm honest. Good, traditional, class club. I wish I could say the same about the fans (not all of them!).
  11. Agreed mate. Still have a tonne of respect for the club, but the fans.. they are the "Can dish it out, but can't take it" type. Some of us are bitter after we lost, fair enough, as were they in December.. but they're bitter after they win as well! Aint pleasing some. Their fans just aint got a clue to be honest, some of them at least. Not alright for us to have a go at Lescott, but nout wrong with them and their anti-Rooney stuff is there? The ones on that forum saying we have shit support.. might wanna check our average attendances on that one lads. To be honest, I think it's bitterness. Tonnes of Everton fans have said they respect us, and we say the same. But now they're below us, the biterness is showing. Ah well, their probem.
  12. I'm still keeping an eye on Everton, 11 points may sound alot but we have an incredibly difficult run of games coming up now and even Arsenal, who were top of the league at the time, gave up a 12 point lead last season. There remaining fixtures: Home: West Brom, Stoke, Wigan, Man City, Spurs, West Ham. Away: Newcastle, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Villa, Chelsea, Sunderland, Fulham. Probably the pessimist in me, but I can see them winning most of them!
  13. Yeah, same. We could do with someone on the bench incase Barry or Stan get a knock.
  14. I must have missed it to be honest. Obviously you don't sped as much as Spurs, City and the big 4, but still far more than most other clubs in the Prem. Oh well, maybe with the size of Evertons squad, more games in the FA Cup will hopefully mean we can completely forget about them in the league as they may start to prioritise the remaining FA Cup games over the league.
  15. I thought the atmosphere in general was very poor, but considering Everton scored so ealy on and had the lead for a good 60 overall, you barely heard anything. They kept singing one song over and over, but couldn't hear what it was.
  16. Didn't think Everton played particularly well today. A mixture of a very poor performance from us, and some very nice gifts from Atkinson were enough for them to win the game. Best of luck in the next round.
  17. Dockery didn't give up a TD all year!? Jesus, didn't realise that! Webster should have been a Pro Bowler easily, so glad we got him signed up to a big deal.
  18. Everton transfers I find this site quite useful. Though all the prices seem to be a bit high! it says they're in £s, but either they're in Euro's or something, or the that is how much they would have cost on the current value of the £. Just compare them to Villa players prices than you know for sure, and it'll give you a good indication. Though I tend not to knock clubs who spend and say they have no money, we did that throughout Ellis' reign. According to the link, Everton has spent around £40m net in the last 3 seasons.
  19. Not posted in the NFL forum for a while.. happy that we've at least made sure Jacobs is here next season, but certainly want us to give him a long term deal before the season starts. Happy with David Carr signing and the cutting of Droughns and Knight.. not sure on Sam Madison, he was still a decent corner and Ross/Webster don't hide the fact that he's helped them in their time with the Giants. Would like to see him back as a coach at some point! Certainly think we need to draft or sign a CB, can't think who we've got off the top of my head.. Webster, Ross, Dockery, Thomas and? :?
  20. The option 'hated it' doesn't really do it justice. It really is a shocking song.
  21. Good poll, I really can't decide myself. -It would be great to have that added lead over Chelsea and possibly extending our lead over Arsenal. If not, at least keeping the same ead, while giving them 1 less game to catch us. But it also pretty much takes away every chance we have of a trophy this season. On the other hand.. -Chelsea would go above us, Arsenal would have the chance to catch us. But we still kee our trophy hopes alive. Very tough call. Let's just hope we beat Chelsea AND progress in both cups!
  22. I don't really follow or understand rugby, so can somebody tell me the reason France and Italy are in this competition? I'd always assumed it was like a home nations (and Ireland) type competition..
