  1. **** off Carragher you word removed, don't see you trying to pick Gerrard up when he falls over.
  2. I think the HANDBALL! shouting must be a Scouse thing, they've been claiming for just as many ridiculous things as Everton do.
  3. Just watched the Siena-Milan game and there was an advert for the Liverpool-Villa game. "Can Villa silence the boo boys" was the comment they made. I really hope this doesn't continue, it makes our fans sound like shit to be honest, all because of a minority of 'supporters'.
  4. 4-0 Liverpool. Just can't see us getting close, they'll score early and we'll collapse.
  5. Under Doug: I think he'd have gone after the sha game had we not picked up many points and failed to beat them. Under Randy: Thank God for a patient owner. He'll be given the rest o the season and rightfully so.
  6. If people think this is 'shit' then I dread to think what they think when we have more Wigan-like performances! Poor performance but not a terrible result. Play the first team, except for Guzan, in the 2nd leg, they clearly need more time together.
  7. That is awful. I wonder when the last time we got an attendance as low as that? We get more for bloody friendlies!
  8. They must have been taking the piss, surely!
  9. I don't agree with you much, but you're bang on with this. I think we'll all admit we expect to lose at Anfield, we're just hoping for a good performance. Fulham aren't a bad side, but we certainly expect to avoid defeat. If we do lose, and then fail to beat Blues.. this will be disaster, particularly as the window will have shut.
  10. People are really misinterpreting the "I didn't realise we used less players than anyone else" quote. What he is saying is not that he doesn't know how small the Villa squad is, he is just surprised that no other squad was as small. People are making it seem like he didn't know he had a small squad, of course he did. He's just saying he didn't know how many players Stoke, Hull, Bolton, etc. used. I don't think it really matters if MON knows how many different players Hull used last season either, christ.
  11. If it wasn't an over-reaction over 1 game, there would have been more about it before. Some people with less patience would have been calling fo rhim to be out towards the end of last summer, or during the summer. but the fact is there wasn't, it's all came out after this one game. I wouldn't call it an over-reaction if I didn't think it was.
  12. Because the fans has given MON the benefit to have a go at the summer to strengthen the team. He hasnt done that in a way that fans are happy with...together with this his tactics are way off the mark and he also has got a team playing a very unattractive game. It is many things on few areas that make you feel that it is enough... Thy've given him the summer to strengthen.. yet they're calling for his head while it's still the summer. It still screams over-reaction, to me.
  13. Just reading over this thread, one of the main points from the lads that want MON out is that this isn't just the result of the loss to Wigan, but the poor end to last season. So how come there wasn't any MON out threads over the summer, why not at the end of last season? This one defeat can't have changed your opinion that much, this is why it screams over-reaction to me.
  14. This is the most ridiculous post I've seen. It must surely be a piss take, we were 4th in Feb, why would you sack a manager fo rbeing 4th? I swear, if we won the league and then lost all our games after the title was secured, people still wouldn't be happy because we'd lost too many in a row.
  15. your think he'd a replaced the shit with good players though.. But we have a better squad now than we did under O'Leary. Djemba Djemba, Berson, Drobny to name a few.. I know MON has signed a few Harewood's and Salifou standard players but I'm more confident with MON as a manager than I was with O'Leary. I could never see us going places under DOL but with MON I can definitely see us going somewhere. The problem is, the short term success of the club has led to compacency of the fans wanting further success straight away, therefore the calling of him to be sacked. We may not have the best squad but I support Aston Villa not Martin O'Neill, or Randy Lerner, or Marlon Harewood... Aston Villa will always be there. Managers come and go but the team doesn't. Yes we're going through a bad patch meaning we have to sign some decent players who are able to pick it up but to say he's not replaced shit players with good players is a little strange. Davies and Cuellar are both better than Ridgewell :? Spot on Rich, top completely agree.
  16. Some people won't have it mate. They'll just say we've always played shit football. People won't be happy until we are Arsenal. And whats wrong with that? Is that not what we should be trying to do? Yes, but labelling it shit because we aren't Arsenal is stupid. Surely every club aims to have as many titles and European Cups as Madrid, doesn't mean the likes of United and Milan are shit just because they haven't won as many. I an understand why Glaston often makes such sarcy comments now, I dare to think any Wigan fan is reading this forum at the moment. The majority on here have given them no respect what so ever. Just because their name isn't Arsenal doesn't mean they can't play good football. I bet their fans think we're a right bunch of tossers.

  18. I still haven't seen one decent name mentioned in relation to who we should get in if MON is to leave. Jol is the only one I've seen, he did a greatjob at breaking the big 4 didn't he? But if we were to sack MON, very much like Newcastle with Sir Bobby and Spurs with Jol, we'd look like a bunch of morons and we'd also be that deluded club who thinks we're far better than we are. If we can't break the top 4, so be it, people make it sound **** easy, when it really isn't.
  19. But what you stated isn't logical. You say you now feel like you did under the HDE years which makes you feel disappointed. But DOL was also a manager in the HDE years, so how come you feel worse now than back then? The only difference is that we're actually cosistantly finishing in a high position now.
  20. This is probably the most important thing of all. Even those who don't particularly like MON will admit he's at least amanager with a decent level of ability. To break the top 4 we are going to need a real top quality manager, but how will we do this? Top quality managers don't often find themselves unemployed and top quality managers are wanted by the very best clubs. Even Chelsea couldn't get Hiddink to stay. I don't want MON out personally, but even if I did, there's no one better out there at the moment.
