  1. Yes I used to watch him a lot in his Worcester days. A classy lefthanded batsman but he did drop a few catches as keeper. Shame he's been overlooked for England... Heard the reason was he's too quiet.
  2. Cook was out! Its seems that most of the 50/50 decisions are going englands way. Kohli was marginal early on which could easily have not been given.
  3. I rate Davies as a batsman but think there are many better keepers than him to be fair. Foakes is highly rated and Essex have Foster who is one of two best keepers in the country with Chris Read.
  4. 35 goals in 42 appearances in his last season for Sheffield. Thats the reason they or another club will sign him. Forget morals and ethics, football is about money and success and whilst some of us hold the higher moral ground, if he went back to Shef United and scored another 35 goals the fans will soon forgive and forget.
  5. I can't see us doing much except avoiding relegation again.. Yes we have a few of our bomb squad back and some free signings but compared to other clubs we have done nothing in the transfer market and last season we had some amazing results against top 4 sides which probably won't happen again. Massive game at Stoke because it could set the tone for the season.
  6. http://www.chedevans.com/ There are serious doubts about the conviction.
  7. He also has always claimed his innocence and has a 2nd appeal going to court.
  8. They signed Marlon King a serial woman beater so can't see why they wouldn't resign Ched Evans, who has done his time and should be allowed to apply his trade like anybody else that has been to prison.
  9. Champions Arsenal then Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool Villa - 16th Champions league winners - Barcelona Top scorer - Andi Weimann
  10. 20 points behind Liverpool last season though. I know they have lost Suarez but they are stronger in other areas now.
  11. My fav Robin Williams film is one hour photo. I thought he was awesome in that...
  12. I think they will struggle to make the top 4 myself. Think Liverpool will have the edge on them.
  13. Yes it means the cricket season is nearly over..
  14. Sad to hear. A very versatile actor. RIP.
  15. Yes good times but they'll never break into the top 4.
  16. Ajmal's action has been reported. There seems to be a bit of a witchhunt against bent arm bowlers right now....Must be worrying for him and Pakistan. I think if found illegal at 36 theres no time for him to change it and come back. The way things are the doosra will become a thing of the past.
  17. Yes he was way out of his depth and had poor man management skills. Very much the opposite to his predecessor John Inverarity.
  18. It takes the pressure off his batting but runs will come. I think they will stick with Jordan and Woakes next test. Onions is out of the picture for good I think. They are looking at younger options.
  19. I know and they didn't treat Naquash Tahir very well either. At that time I don't think the people we had were very good at working with asian cricketers. Moeen was in the side in 2006 and made top score at Trent Bridge and was dropped, George Dobell was a big Moeen fan and was told by Greatbatch that he wouldn't be a first team player for 5 years. Of course his cousin Kabir and brother Kadeer also started their careers at warwickshire.
  20. He wouldn't have waited until he was 27 before making his test debut if he had of stayed with us
  21. He's still getting drift and 'revs', though (from what it seems and from what the players and commentators have been saying). Often when spinners bowl quicker they just bowl flat and straight which tends to make them less dangerous - Moeen's increase of a few mph seems to have made him more dangerous and less easy to just push around for a single. As I said before, I wonder whether some of that has come from Ajmaal (or at least from him watching Ajmaal). Of course, it helps if you're bowling with a few hundred lead on the board but I don't think we should underestimate his performance on the last day of the So'ton test as there was a fair bit of pressure on him. Maybe some from Ajmal but mainly from Bell who he has practiced a lot with and told him he needed to bowl quicker in test cricket than county cricket. Knows him well from his Warwickshire days as well.
  22. Yes the way he is going he'll be bowling 90 mph by next summers ashes. I like him to bowl the odd slower one still though..
  23. Yes India were poor but to get 9 wickets in a session without Broad was great and Moeen once again doing the business. I just hope Moeen can get runs next test because he's a class batsman. I knew he had some talent with the ball but i am astounded how well he has done.
  24. The only reason i feel any degree of optimism is having Okore and Nzog back. We have signed nobody that has cost any money and the free transfers I'm not excited about one bit. I think unless we get new owners before the january window its going to be another struggle against relegation.
  25. Problem is this generation of Indian cricketers don't get any experience of English conditions. Before the likes of Dravid, Gangully, Laxman all played county cricket...
