Portugal is going well it seems. If they put in a lackluster performance when they return. They should all be shot. Including Lambert and whoever approved a holiday when were not even doing all that well. I seem to remember one previously.. i cant remember if it was McLeish or MON.. and we came back and loss quite a few on the bounce. I never found the midseason trip a good idea.

Lambert needs to show compassion. Hes still young and hasnt been fit enough to have a proper chance. 1 year deal is fair.

Delph is overrated on these boards. He stands out in a very poor midfield. Not enough assists or goals. His defensive work isnt the greatest either. Superb skills on the ball. Has improved loads this season.. but he has a long way to go before hes irreplaceable.

Agree. Bertrand has played left mid. My bets on him playing there in a 442 yeah but bennett is not a good left back. Would prefer Bertrand back there personally. I hope Lambert has similar feelings. Bennett will go okay as a winger. Here we go. Good luck lads! Lets hope for the best.

Not a fan of this line up. I dont understand why he changes the side so much. Especially away from home. Away isnt the problem. Wouldnt have a problem with this side at home. Should have stuck with his usual line up of 433 with El Ahmadi and Wiemann. To me it looks like a 442 with Albrighton and Bennett on the wings. Surely he wont play Bennett at left back after finally realising he needs to buy a proper left back. Bennett better going forward too?

We play better when bacuna is right back. Lowton is a liability. Vlaar and Bertrand in doubt? Hopefully their both fit. Westwood is so overrated. Being saying it for ages. He offers nothing and his set pieces are useless. I would play albrighton (don't know why he was dropped in the first place). Gabby on the other wing. Wiemann in the hole behind Benteke. Delphi kea in midfield. 4411 formation

Didnt Hutton name a few of the boys that were in the bomb squad? or photos of them traning? I dont recall Charles being mentioned in them at all. Maybe he wasnt. Either way Paul Lambert is entitled to change his mind. I would like to think he is capable of learning from previous mistakes. By not playing these players he has devalued them. We could still get a few million for Charles if we give him a bit of a run out to impress and put him in the shop window. (Martinez - Everton)

I can see why he would do a backflip on it.. and i admire him for it as hes learning from his mistakes. all the bomb squad have left for very little money or are just rotting in the reserves.. we may as well play them if their useful (shay and Nzogbia not hutton) By letting them rot they lose value and we cant sell them.. they are not fit and are then risky signings. Nzogbia should play.. get fit.. and then sell him once hes played again. Possibly recouping 3-4 million for him. Otherwise you let him rot and he leaves on a free because noone wants to pay his wages and dont think he can play due to the bad injury. Best thing to do in Nzogbia's case is bring him back.. get him some games.. and then sell him.. if we can afford to play him in a few dead rubbers towards the end of the season and he impresses.. we can then sell him for a few million in the summer..

I would understand wanting him gone if Villa go down. However, are you going to get someone better to get the club back to the prem if that happened? Well that would depend in the manner of us going down. I am split on Lambert at the moment. Just when i have given up on him.. he gets the players to play like they did against Liverpool and WBA and i think great.. were back to last years end of season form. But then the week after we have that negative BS like when we played West Ham and a few other games earlier on with the 5-3-2 formation. If he continues to play the 5-3-2 and we are playing negative and poor football and we get relegated.. then yes.. i think we can do better. If we put in better shifts and get relegated then no. If we stay up and play like we played against Liverpool then give him a new deal. So thats why i would personally just wait and see before offering him a 3 year deal. Say the worst case scenario happens and he takes us down playing rubbish football we have to pay out another 4 year contract? I do like Paul Lambert and want him to succeed but some of his tactics and the teams performances have just been woeful in the last few years. I do appreciate we havent been belted this season so thats improvement.. Its a tough one but for me its just easier to wait and see.

I didnt realise how tall he was. He doesnt look very tall. As he is only 22 years old i am sure he will fill out and hit the gym with Gabby and become stocky and he could be a really really good central midfield player.
