  1. ... we'll still be ahead of them Oh of course. I quite like how they're playing out of their skins, they lead the form table, it's their best start to a season ever and they're still only just about in the European positions. So basically, unless they carry on their best form ever, they're going to be in for another nothing season. I read a smurf's comment today slagging off Villa saying he'd much rather be in a promotion or relegation fight each year as it's far more interesting than finishing 6th or whatever. I imagine he might have changed his mind if they finish mid table and be celebrating as if they've won the league.
  2. We haven't conceded a headed goal this season. I believe we might be the only Premiership team with this record but can't be sure on that bit.
  3. My Newcastle supporting mate just reminded me of a famous Graeme Souness quote: "You'll never win anything with a team of James Milners". That Graeme, is why you're a shit manager.
  4. Well lets cross that goal scoring midfielder off the shopping list
  5. Milner MOTM, absolutely brilliant yet again. Good assist, great goal and covered every blade of grass. An absolute shoe-in for the world cup now. Today was a big test after such a good result at the weekend. Lets keep it up against Stoke now and we'll be looking really healthy going into the Arsenal and Liverpool games.
  6. Well they're on the verge of winning but wait until you see Benitez's (who's better than Pelé remember) miss from tonight. The commentator argued that it was worse that Rozenthal's. Which may be a bit harsh. But it's still brilliant. Straight off the bar open goal 5 yards out.
  7. If the players don't hang onto it from here they need shooting.
  8. I think that Milner only getting 4% of the votes shows what a great performance this was. He was as good as ever but everyone else really upped their game.
  9. That's the first time we've won at Old Trafford in my lifetime General, and I'm 23. So thanks to Randy and everyone for making it possible. I can remember a few scraped draws up there that we were a bit lucky with. But this time it was thoroughly deserved, we didn't fluke it, we earnt it, and it was a brilliant early Christmas present for us all!
  10. From avfc.co.uk What are they trying to say? What do you mean? They're just saying that not many could deny we deserved the lead at half time. I don't think there's any hidden meaning. Well yes that is what they meant, but they said the opposite. It's either few could argue they weren't good value, or few could deny they were good value. I've had a couple of pints. I see what you mean actually. It does make sense, in that few could argue with the fact that they were good value for the lead. But I agree, it's an unusual/slightly confusing way of phrasing it.
  11. Not sure if this has been posted but Everton use FM to scout for players? Interesting considering how much stick people get on here for referring to it. Would also explain why they signed Heitinga... (I know it's not a new story by the way I just heard about it on the World Football Phone In last night) Here

  13. As the bloke stood behind me at Burnley shouted: "**** off O'Neill, you're tactically naive"
  14. Freaking brilliant! We've shown we can more than hold our own with the big boys. Beat Chelsea, Liverpool and Manyoo before Christmas. Very nice. Now lets sort ourselves out against the small teams. We've lost against teams that are currently 12th, 14th and 18th. Find a way of beating these and we're genuine top 4 contenders. Don't and we're probably 6th. 7th again.
  15. Went to the doctors the other day, it turns out he reckons I'm paranoid. He didn't say it but I know what the bastard was thinking.... (Again credit goes to another VT member who doesn't post much)
  16. When asked who he support he said "Aston Villa, but don't ask me to name any of their players..." Not exactly the most avid of fans. Jacqui Smith's a much more avid Villa fan than him (has a season ticket I believe) but I wouldn't vote for her either...
  17. They seem to genuinely think they're as good as us in that post above. Stunning.
  18. Really? I thought Hibbert had the worst game I've seen from him yesterday, was really poor.
