  1. Not trying to be funny but I think we just did.Well for £9m I guess
  2. Who's Delph? An absolute word removed
  3. It's only a lie if he didn't believe it, and I for one think he meant every word. How the hell does anyone turn down 25m over 4 years though? I get your point but the math is all wrong, he wasn't playing at Villa for free. Nothing wrong with the maths. If the reports are correct, he's been offered 25m over 4 years. What he earned at Villa has nothing to do with that at all. Do you honestly think any player of Fabian Delph's ability and history would be right in the head to turn down that kind of money to play for a club like Man City? What he earned at Villa has nothing to to with it but what he would earn at villa during the same period of time does have something to do with it.

  5. But the manager didn't last season as within a few weeks of arriving at the club he had dropped him. Steady. Sherwood arrived on February 14th. Given played 3 league games, the final 3 of the season, the first of which was 2nd of May. Hardly within a few weeks. OK so 10 weeks. Doesn't change the point one bit. Your point was that the manager didn't regard Guzan as our best keeper. Guzan played 9 of the last 12 league games under Sherwood's management until his form dipped and he was replaced for 3 games. That does not mean Sherwood didn't see Guzan as our best keeper. It certainly suggests it IMO. Also don't think most would drop a keeper straight away after coming in as manager. Guzans dip in form was well set in by the time Tim arrived I would say.

  8. I agree.... why havent we tried to sign Buffon as our 3rd choice keeper.......everyone out!!!!! Problem is we need a 1st choice not third, we now have 4 keepers(hopefully 3 shortly if Given leaves) and still need another. We have a first choice called Brad Guzan. Who the manager obviously doesn't rate very highly as he dropped him at one of the most crucial part of last season.

  10. Strange move I would say. It is a new no.1 I think we need. Unless Steer is going out on loan and we bring another in.
  11. The problem I see with the Bunn signing would be that we are fine for back up Keepers I don't see the point in buying a keeper unless he is better than Guzan. Romero on a free? I probably haven't seen enough of him at club level to decide if he is better than Guzan. Can't believe he is only 28 though. Seems to be around forever for Argentina

  13. Let's just hope this is another twitter rumour.
  14. A great GK in his prime .Sadly he was slightly passed it when he joined and for ridiculous wages. Wish him all the best but glad to have him off the wage bill . hopefully Tim goes out and signs a really good No.1 now.
  15. Sounds from that article that he is there on a personal venture and it has nothing at all to do with Sky. Probably making a nice appearance fee for it.
  16. Hope they make the crest like that on the away top, keep it black and yellow.
  17. Yup same on Luke Young as I recall as well ... pretty sure Luke Young was £5m . could have been signed a season earlier for about £2m though.
  18. When you are in the position Villa are in sometimes you will have to pay a little bit more than other clubs to get good players.
  19. Or more likely ,the club continues in the same way as the last 4 years and we finally succumb to relegation and his investment takes another massive hit.
  20. The reports I have read said McKay was actually representing Lille in the transfer not Gueye.
  21. A blue collar and the blue from the sleeves doesn't go up onto the shoulders.
  22. Not to mention that Ajax has been known to develop good young players with potential where as QPR is a graveyard for has beens.
  23. Lot of people giving out about Vaughan but I think he's doing OK. Its McAdams who is letting the acting down for me . she is trying way too hard to be "cool/aloof" and its borderline cringe at times.
  24. To add a tiny be to that , apparently immediately after giving the word of victory he dropped dead on the spot.
