Fortunately the transfer window doesn't close for another 6 weeks... Well we had 7 points inside that period last year and it would have been 10 if it was this season because of early start. 3 weeks is all we have. Actually 2.5 so they can play in first game Agree with this. Certainly most would want to be in by 2 weeks time . A club in villas position can't afford to give away games to the likes of Bournemouth.

We haven't spent anything net. A couple of million in the black after the Delph sale. What I'd read, I'd read before Delph had been sold. I guess that drives home my point that we should at least be able to spend the £40M from selling Delph and Benteke (if he leaves) and extra if the squad really needs it.We should really be spending £40m after(if) the Amavi deal is completed but I just cannot see Lerner doing anything like that .

Lots of people suggesting Amavi and Darder are close but has there been any strong link to Darder at all? Maybe there has and I missed it but I have seen little or no connection yet?

Each one will at least require 10+ in fees 50m is the minimum that should now be spent on the squad for the remainder of the summer.

Except had he not signed a new contract we would have got nothing. Would probably have thought more of him if he had ran his contract down TBH.

Unless we go for his brother Jonathan Only MON would put a defender up front. Most bits(not much) I have read on him say he is a striker?

Looked very good at one stage but between injuries and some awful errors I'm not sure he will be a huge loss.

Agree with this 100% another thing that has huge impact on center backs is if your keeper isn't commanding enough or confident in his decisions, that is one thing which hampered the CB's last season.

Gone pretty quiet on the transfer front the last few days except for a few tenuous links, hopefully the calm before the storm. Only just over 3 weeks rto the season KO ideally you would want most players in a week or 2 before that.

It's good news, not bad. As long as the money goes to strengthen the team there is the possibility of bringing in three decent players now - which could (and should) be the difference between struggling again and staying away from it. Once you take the money away for Genk, plus the money we'll spend on his replacement, I don't think we'll have enough left to add 2 more quality players. Pretty sure Genk get less than £4m so that basically leaves £29m to replace him £12-£15m ..should get 2 fairly decent quality players for £7m each .Guyue was about that price up front for example.

In my book that's pretty good. But IMO he's not as good as Benteke .
