Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Dunne, Clarke, then NRC and Henry, then a 3 of Westwood, Delph and Gabby then Bent up front would do a job better then we are likely to get ATM = 4,2,3,1
I don't get all this speculation about what other owners would/are doing - we don't even know about what happens behind the scenes of our own club let alone others. So how can we maek a genuine comparison?
And Bannan, Delph and KEA are wonderful? pheew.... we need a nasty hard bastard ball winner in that midfield then the rest might just be able to be a little more creative.
Well said Nuremberg, thats what people ignore. It's the Lerner Trust that have LOANED the money to Aston Villa not RL personally. He has made loans at a 2% rate which is good for the club but he has also made administrative or management charges against the club which goes back to the Lerner Trust. Certainly I recall one of these 'charges' was £10m.
He man be a pretty crap businessman in footballing terms but he's pretty damned good at looking after his own funds............his jet is probably on a rental agreement but how much must that be costing him? No doubt all written off as business expences against his tax bill.
He makes no effort to talk to the fans, he makes litle effort to attend that games, he is now not funding the club, so just exactly what use is he?
This club needs leadership both ON and OFF the pitch - we have neither.
As one of those actively engaged fighting Ellis I am at a loss to see why people are behind Lerner when we are clearly in a worse position than under Ellis
Benteke missed chances yesterday but in fairness most of those he created himself, something Bent doesnt do.
Bent needs players around him to create and we have sold our creative players and not replaced. In other words Bent is wasted in our team
The fact thedefence are en masse 'inexperienced' at this level, including Vlaar and the fact there is no midfield to support them makes the criticism of CC unfair in my view
Jeez, the impassioned views of the great uninformed........ PF is an administrator......... no one KNOWS exactly what influence he has. It just APPEARS that he does what he is told to me, he is an employee no more. RL is set upon running the club his way, that is without any football experience at a high level.
As has been pointed out elsewhere PFs role of increasing revenue streams and modernising things off the pitch have been very successful but any company of our size for proper corporate governance needs to have a properly constructed board of directors and NEDs to ensure a healthy input of experience and ideas. RL does it his way with PF and Robin whats his face dealing with their 'boss'
It is all down to Lerner I'm afraid
