    Didn't see any of the game but figured this would be a likely result because you can't just play your first team 3x a week and have to rotate - and our current rotation players are all very one dimensional. That rotation looks miles different with Carlos, Moreno and Ramsey to call on. Once we have those guys back fully fit then we should be able to play alternate teams without sacrificing too much quality. In the end we probably have left the cupboard bare in terms of having young, enthusiastic ballers to bring in for these games - not having a Revan or Aaron Ramsey to come in and have a red hot crack is disappointing.

    Watching on a weak Qantas WiFi signal over the Nullarbor and nearly woke up the whole plane shouting "just shut up you stupid woman!" Several times.

    Deserved win even if we got a bit of luck Watkins looked much better today too, even apart from his goal. Digne looks knackered though. I really hope Moreno's ready to come back into the rotation soon.

    All three of their goals went end to end without any Villa player getting near it. Yes the defence was horrid but this was a whole of team failure.

    To me Cash is one of the players we need to be careful of over extending as our only recognised RB. In normal circumstances I'd play Chambers as a purely defensive RB and let Moreno maraud up the left. However, this might be Cash's only chance to play for Villa in his"home" country, so it could be a big game for him.

    We are looking like flat track bullies so far. Main issue is inability to maintain composure under a tight press. We have the ball away too much and that leaves your defenders caught with their pants down. Zaniolo looked very good though, and he looks a better option than Bailey.

    Defensively Carlos was great but he gave the ball away a bit too much with some misplaced and underhit passes. McGinn uber Emery is world class. He and Digne are developing quite a nice little relationship on the left there. Frustrated for (rather than with) Watkins this week - really unlucky not to get a goal today. I think our defence will be a bit brittle over the next 4-5 games while they get used to each other. Attacking wise the possibilities seem endless with multiple routes to goal - not something we've seen at Villa for quite some time.

    So Gibbs-White clearly asked the ref to give them a yellow, but didn't get one himself for it. Isn't that an automatic yellow this season?

    Get so sick of players getting rewarded for initiating contact. Rashford clearly dived into the defender's leg there. Was appealing before he hit the ground.
