  1. Wind your neck in Ainsworth you clown, this is not a problem that has begun in 2010. It’s a problem that’s been on going since the Wall fell and nobody since has given a damn about defence. That’s why we have 6 hulls marked up for escorts. I’m glad the leak has happened, hopefully it will embarrass one or two and aid Fox, but ultimately at least this has brought defence to the forefront of discussion. What good will come of it remains to be seen.
  2. Small is a good word. You like Brown, Darling and now Osbourne seem to be unable to see the wood for the trees. 6 is a small number. 6 is an even smaller number when it represents the number of hulls serving as escorts for BOTH carrier AND amphibious groups. 0 is a small number. It's even smaller when it represents the number of air superiority and early warning aircraft on board the future CVFs. But then the RN should be used to that when we consider the Sea Harrier was cut from the current air arm after Blue Vixen had been fitted. Genius use of funds and strategic planning. We could then talk about the ship building programme and how poorly that is managed as in a few years we will be left with a skills gap, as there won't be enough workers left in the yards at Barrow or the Clyde with the skills to build our SSNs or Destroyers. More of that false economy Awol spoke of. Although half a billion for a Type 45, which won't have Tomahawk is the polar opposite!
  3. They may well have spent more but it has left us with less. As I said earlier go look at the Royal Navy and the ship building programme then you will appreciate why Labour have gutted and blunted our armed forces.
  4. Deflect how? I am dealing in fact, not inane party loyalty. Go take a look at the Royal Navy, it's not a blue water force anymore. The ship building programme is a farce. If the Government decide to continue in similar vein then I am going to call foul at the loonacy.
  5. I'm glad Fox has given them a round of ****. Labour and their defence policies have virtually destroryed our armed forces, the fact the Government is apparently going to continue them is a disgrace.

There was and they did/do the same with the Albion. I have no idea if they keep the mesh there for the non-derby games, but I expect so given how they love to chuck stuff.
  7. I don't know if top is the right way to describe him, but I have some sympathy for him. I kick Ed in the nads and give him a Chinese Burn at the next family meet up. As for the speech, obviously the style and ability to deliver speeches to large conference audiences is not there yet. However I would say that is to be expected and it's something you'd imagine he'll develop given time. It was interesting to hear him distance himself both from the past and the unions, so we will have to wait and see how he defines himself.

In quite a few recent games down at WHL we’ve only taken the smaller allocation. Given this is a Saturday we’d have probably had better luck shifting the extra 1000 tickets. There was also no smaller allocation for Wolves this year, just a more accurate reporting of the number of tickets offered. The last row is always taken out for derby games, given the Dingles propensity to chuck stuff from the upper tier. I think that now things have settled down and there is a clear direction for the club, anomalies like Stoke won’t happen again. They’ve done the right thing with Sunderland too, as recent 3pm games have shown us take 2300 up there, so there’s a bit of leeway for on the day sales or greater demand. As Blandy says, it is not as if Sunderland will need the tickets via their demand. Newcastle was a good following. Over 2000 for a 1:30pm Sky game, more than Stoke and Blackpool took up and more than the Jawdees took to the Molineux for a Saturday 3pm game.
  9. If everyone thinks he's a dick, how can he be the strongest candidate? Honest question Perhaps you mean you like his policies the most you closet trotskyist you Ha! What I meant was that he seems to be the largest and most robust character. Both Milibands come off as a bit wet to me, unlike Balls, who I’d also credit with the greater intellect. It just seems that he has focused most of it on devious back stabbing and all-round naughty political behaviour. I’m not a fan of his policies and like many I think he’s a dick, but if you're able to ignore his dastardliness, then he’d be the best choice. The new Mandy perhaps? A future as a power behind the Labour leader?
  10. Diane "Airmiles" Abbott?! Diane "Another Dom Pom please stewardess" Abbott.
  11. Neither Diane “insert Drats favourite word here” Abbott or Andy “could I have a bigger chip on my shoulder?” Burnham was ever going to win though. The unions backed one out of the two candidates that had a realistic chance. The strongest candidate I always thought was Balls. But he was never going to win due to the handicap of being a bit of a dick and thought of as such by nigh on everybody.
  12. It will prove a poor choice in the long term.
  13. I think it will be a Villa win here. Young is always a major threat, but if Ireland plays in a more advanced role, then I’d watch out for him too. I like Doyle and I see him as your biggest goal threat and also your best player. Sidwell Ward Albrighton will make it and do very well for us. There is also potential with wee Barry Bannan and Nathan Delfouneso . Fabain Delph will be phenomenal. Its a poor league. Outside of last year’s top 8, there is very little quality or consistency, so I don’t see us finishing any lower than 8th. Given how both the Merseyside clubs have started, then there is no reason why we shouldn’t finish a minimum of 6th. I think you’ll stop up, which I think you’d be pleased with. The second season is always tough. I think the Villa will be ok. Houllier has a chance now to broaden our horizons signings wise and we’re not too many players away from really being able to compete for the Misnomer League football. In the next few years the North will be redeveloped to which should give us a financial boost to compete with the new WHL and so on. As far as the Wolves go, I think you’ll be alright this season and go about consolidating your place in the next few years. Based on the Newcastle game, then yes. Some of the challenges were woeful, Barton or not. But you can’t real give a side a tag based on one game. Also, tell OCD on Molineux Mix to wind his neck in. Similar histories?! In his dreams!
  14. I couldn’t disagree more than you with that.

I did down at the SHA the other year, when they all came out of Moriartes and started smacking around Villa in colours (no, the Blues, pick on Villa in colours and your ones and twos? Who’d have thought it).
  16. As far as I know, Bob Kain had nothing to do with getting the Nike kit deal and hasn’t had anything to do with the Villa for years. In fact I’d wager that its difficult to see what input he ever had.

I assume you mean Utd away. Great result and professional job but not a great performance for me. We scored a great goal on the counter attack and then were backs to the wall for the rest of the game and Utd looked somewhat deficient - no attacking threat from CM and Rooney didn't get any breaks. Bollocks. They had one real opportunity in the entire 90 and Rooney muffed it. It was not a siege at all and we were comfortable, even in injury time. Although there was a collective shitting of our pants in the away end as history at their place would dictate!

We must be watching a different player because I think his crossing is brilliant! We must be. He didn't stick a single ball in the box in the first half and then in the second when he did, they were woeful balls. Against Stoke I cannot think of a single ball the lad played in. He's got to work on his end product and cut the naivety out where he believes that he has to take player after player on. He's a good prospect, but he's still just a prospect.
  19. They were made to hand the Saf Bonk over to the Albion in the FA Cup the other year, in which the Albion beat them! Could you imagine the Villa doing that with the Holte End and SHA?!
  20. Give them a ring tomorrow. Dudley said there were a couple hundred left the week before last. I can't imagine there being a great deal left to be honest.

Nail...On...Head. Young on the left, Albrighton on the right. Downing to make way for NRC. Bannan straining at the leash on the bench and given 25 minutes towards the end. ] Downing is better than Albrighton. What, because he hit the target twice during the warm up? Give me a break, his contribution to the team is negligable. Downings a better player. Albrighton is a good prospect but he has no end product whatsoever. His crossing is dreadful if you’re lucky to see a cross from him at all. SoccerHQ is right on the money with regards to Ireland. Its a nonsense that arguably the most technically gifted player in our side needs to drop forty yards deep from the oppositions 18 yard line in order to collect the ball. His vision is excellent, but its of no use to us where he was being played. He needs to be in advanced positions.
  22. Only a couple hundred left, so it should sell out.
