Whoever does come in as new manager better be bringing an entire backroom staff with him -- assistants, coaches, medical staff, everything. It's not just the playing staff that needs a massive overhaul. The entire club needs root-and-branch reform.

It's funny to think of Baker as being quicker and more aware than anyone, isn't it? (And I don't disagree.)

For a while he was showing improvement defensively. His performance in the semi-final vs. Liverpool last season was outstanding, he made several game-saving blocks. No one could accuse him of hiding that day. But I agree those performances have been too few and far between in the main, and this season's been a step backwards for him. I still like him and think he'll be a good option in the Championship. I'd like to see him focus on improving his attacking play, I just don't think he's big or strong enough to do the work we need defensively.

For every one Carrick comparison there has always been two or three assertions that he's absolute dog shit. I don't think you can say he's overrated. But on the other hand, people sure do love to argue about him. It's always surprised me just how much he's divided opinion. I think he's pretty damn average. I had hopes that he would have improved, but it appears he does need better players around him. That said, I've never questioned his attitude, which is more than I can say for most of the guys in our shirt these days.

False. It's not that he's supposedly a Villa supporter himself. It's that he is: Our most senior player by a fairly large margin Our club captain One of our highest earners He is supposed to be a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch. What kind of example is he setting with this kind of behavior? Do you honestly not see any connection between Gabby being out drinking, smoking, taking nitrous, and his complete inability to keep himself fit to play?
