  1. Love having the first team CB partnership wearing 4 and 5, and nice touch to replace the shirts.
  2. Another tap in from the 6 yard box, can't he score some real goals for once? Just a dream to have a player who can finish like this. His positioning and workrate are elite and he buries chances.
  3. Glad Watkins got 11, great result! I'm supportive of annual reshuffles. I like to think the first team should be mostly numbers in the 1-11 range. The last thing you want is some squad filler taking a key number.
  4. Having a lethal poacher with a high workrate will make everyone on the team better at carrying the ball because defenders will be pulled out of position. I hope.
  5. This is so exciting to watch! A genuine poacher type who reads the play well, positions himself well and can finish one touch from all sorts of positions. 26 goals without penalties is spectacular at Championship level. We'd have paid this much for Tammy last year if Chelsea didn't have the transfer ban, and I see this as just as good a signing. Absolutely thrilled. Most exciting signing since what, Carew?
  6. News is just coming out about these horrible stabbing attacks in Birmingham in the city centre. Not too much info yet about how many hurt, but I hope you're all safe!
  7. We're already at that point IMO. Southgate is already having to select demonstrably inferior players and lie about the positions Jack is capable of playing to justify himself. Southgate is living off of a world cup where he beat Tunisia, Panama, Colombia (on pens) and Sweden, and he's carrying on leaving nailed on players out like he's peak Sir Alex Ferguson.
  8. It'd be nice to break our transfer record this window as well. The longer we go without making a signing the more I fear it's not all working out like we hoped it might. I was comfortable but i'm starting to get really stressed out.
  9. I just learned today that in the UK you have to pay for annual TV licences, enforced by a private company that sends threatening letters and comes around to your house to enquire about whether you own a TV or not. I'm sure this is normal to all of you, but my mind is blown. I can't immediately think of a more insanely pointless level of bureaucracy. Surely you could just fund the BBC through general taxation and avoid paying for that entire enforcement department?
  10. How effective would he have been if he'd been playing behind a front 3 of Sterling, Sancho and Kane though? I see him as playing a fairly free attacking role where he drifts left. Imagine how much more space the wingers will get with opponents having to worry about Jack.
  11. Gareth Southgate wakes at midnight on the first of each month to turn the page on his cavoodle puppy calendar.
  12. Doubt it. The idea that you couldn't play both is very strange. Man Utd will find a role for him if they can get their hands on him. If he does go to Man United and plays exactly the same football he has here, he'll be in the next England squad.
  13. Yep. The idea that Jack plays a free role mainly on the left and there is competition on the left so Jack can't find a place but we'll pick Harry f***ing Winks is insanity. Jack should be starting for that team, but he's at the very least a pretty incredible sub to bring on as a point of difference if we're struggling to break a team down.
  14. I don't think he'll leave but it'd be good for football as a whole to see him play in the Premier League IMO.
  15. The bolded is the bit that scares me. This could be the decision that pushes him over the edge in wanting to leave for more opportunity at a higher level, both for club and country. Southgate has potentially completely f***ed us here. It makes me feel sick. If Jack goes to Man Utd, he'll get picked whether Southgate likes him or not, whether his performance improves or not.
  16. Disgraceful. It's clearly personal. He's picked other players with far worse off field issues and he's now picked a championship player.
  17. I'm Australian, I have very little interest in the England side, but my fear is that missing out again makes him more likely to leave. He'll hear all over the press that he needs to move to a bigger club to play for England and that's hard to ignore. And even with 80 million pounds in return, we just can't replace someone of his calibre when we're a relegation battler.
  18. This is such a load of shit if true. Different set of rules for Jack than everyone else obviously.
  19. This is so stressful. He's obviously far more likely to go if he doesn't get picked. Southgate could do massive damage to our club today by making a terrible decision.
  20. Not picking Jack at this point should be all the evidence the FA need to sack Southgate.
  21. I really like it, I haven't bought an away kit in a decade but I'll probably grab this one.
  22. That'll be 100 million pounds, or Sergio Romero and 100 million pounds.
  23. This is a bit short sighted. If Grealish has another 10 years in him, it's not a stretch to think one of the biggest clubs in the world could sort out their issues and win a title or two, especially if they add a player like Jack. A decade ago Man City had just finished 5th and Liverpool 7th. A decade before that Leeds played in the Champions League and Man City got relegated. A decade is an eternity in football. All that said, he could win a title here before his career is over if we're ambitious enough.
  24. Hoping and assuming that's more to do with a Nike sponsorship than any indication he's off.
  25. That article has a really nice description of Jack's dribbling prowess. He doesn't use tricks or pace, he has this odd ability to wrong foot defenders by sort of disguising his centre of gravity so he just sort of appears to glide past at relatively low speed as they guess he's going in a different direction. You'd think it was bad defending if you didn't see him do it several times a game week in week out. God I love watching him play.
