  1. Not the same as rebuilding, but helpful for now.
  2. Basically the same effect as a tactical nuke, in a country that was already barely functioning and on its knees economically. Sadly in Covid world I’m not sure where the massive help required to rebuild will come from.
  3. Probably fair, but I am certain that explosion wasn’t caused by 1) fireworks, or 2) a grain elevator exploding. Jordan seismic survey registered the explosion at 4.5. That’s a massive, chemically driven detonation. 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate would fit the bill. Edit: Lebanese Interior Minister thinks the guy on Twitter might be right.
  4. Apparently there was 2750 tons of confiscated ammonium nitrate in the dockside warehousing. Whatever started the fire that seems to have been the cause of the major explosion. Never seen anything like it. Horrific.
  5. Apparently PSG are looking to move Idrissa Gueye on already. He’s pushing 31 but for the right price (a fairly low price) I wouldn’t mind having him back for a season or two. Anyone seen him play this season?

    Douglas Luiz

Midfield general in the making, he’s got everything.
  7. Exactly this. The owners have repeatedly said they want to get us competing in the top tier of European football, they’ll know full well what that implies financially. It’ll be exciting to see how the extent of their ambition translates into new players this summer.
  8. I can’t figure out who this is, do you have a link mate?
  9. Sancho at the opposite corner of that diamond too, levels below Jack but worth £110M apparently. £85M looking a bargain!
  10. That makes sense, but I’m still hopeful he’ll stay..
  11. No, and I’d like him in the squad, but in a 4-3-3 I don’t know how/where he fits as a starter? If it’s next to Luiz and McGinn I’m in the camp that wants someone with defensive solidity more than attacking flair, letting SJM break forward from deep - his best attribute when fit, imo.
  12. I’d rather get two class wingers & a proven CF, then a central midfielder & then a CB. We’ll be lucky to manage all that within FFP as it is.
  13. I’d like him here, just prioritising what we need most. I’d rather we got cover for Targett this window as Taylor hurts us going forward more than Elmo, imo. I like Guilbert too, but Tavernier would be a big improvement.
  14. If we were tapping Rangers I'd rather pinch James Tavernier - not that RB is a priority this window.
  15. Thanks. I don’t think he’s the answer either, might not be someone we expect but hopefully a pleasant surprise.
  16. What else did the article say? I don’t subscribe
  17. Eze’s not a winger and Sarr won’t go for less than £30M (Watford paid £27M) and possibly more imo - he’s a great option if we can afford him.
  18. A bargain at £20M, lots of growth left in him as a player and knows how to create chances in a struggling Prem team. Hopefully we won’t be, but the point is he’s shown the mental strength to dig in and keep fighting - unlike El Ghazi.
  19. Yes, a solid and experienced addition. Probably knows SJM fairly well too - Scotland isn't that big..
  20. You’re right, I am a Villa fan. We’ll be a better team by any measure next season if Grealish is in it. If he goes, so be it. I’m not naive enough to think we’ll ‘do a Wolves’ next season, but with more targeted spending on fewer, better players, we could be much better than this season. If you don’t believe that then what’s the point?
