By the looks of the McGinn thread he won’t be the only one rocking a body like a dropped lasagne. All the same I’d still like Rashica in, two weeks of hard beasting & he’d be good to go.

Weren't we linked to Luyindama again in the last few weeks? Was in the barbers yesterday and asked the Turkish Galatasaray fans who run it what they thought of him. Both say he's outstanding, apparently struggled a bit with injury this season but they wouldn't want to sell him under any circumstances. Bit of a random post but I don't think a new CB is out of the question, and we seem to be going back in for some players we've been linked with in previous windows.

They got tonked by PSG last night, so with no CL final to worry about I expect they'll be making transfer decisions soon.

I think Luiz has improved so much due to now understanding what his teammates are saying to him on the pitch. If Jack Grealish was transferred to a team in Tokyo tomorrow I think he’d struggle for a season, or at least until someone told him what ‘man on’ means in Japanese.* * this was an inexplicable failure by our club management.

I do, in most games. Especially if the wingers are tracking back - to be fair Trez covered the ground on this but lacked skill higher up. Retaining and winning the ball back higher up the pitch also takes pressure of the CM’s, one reason we were getting beaten up so much there last season.

When our wingers aren’t worth a fart then yes, that’s true. In a 4-2-3-1 he wouldn’t be sitting deep, he’d be in the middle pulling the strings and driving attacks. I think that’s where he wants to play, too.

Just being realistic about who we can attract at this stage in our rebuild. I’m sure we’ll be trawling all over the place for talent and we should, but I’ve no objection to stand-out young players who’ve proved themselves in the championship.

Learning lessons from last season I think we’ll go 4-2-3-1 for many games. Jack in the middle of the 3 and Benny/Rashica/whoever we sign for the spot on the left of it.

Webster, Maupay and Phillips would all have been ‘championship’ signings, and all would have improved us last season versus some of the signings from abroad we ended up with with. Watkins, Benrahma & Cash would all be good additions, the first two being nailed on starters in our current team.

We’re a 6, he’s an 8 and they usually need sweet talking into the deal -money helps. We won’t care if his heart was set on a 7 if he ends up doing the business with us. It doesn’t need to be a love affair, just maximum effort while on the job.

He’s going to have a simple choice to make, premier league or champions league - assuming RBL meet Bremen’s valuation. Everything else is just noise.
